I have to admit I was ready to give up on Mullins, but I’m glad to see him starting to come around and no matter how he hits. It is always more comfortable to have him playing centerfield.
“Orioles juices were flowing on a lovely Pride Night. The offense exploded all over Rangers starter Gray with multiple blasts. Corbin Burnes was able to penetrate every hole in the Rangers lineup”
Great pod as all of them are Connor your awesome knowledge of the Orioles can’t be over stated. Great job! I don’t agree with Pride Night it’s against Gods word Rom 1:27 but everybody should be given respect and safety and are valuable and should be allow go to a baseball game or anywhere safely and peacefully!
One of Urias or Mateo will always be in the lineup until either Norby or Holliday return. Hays has already been relegated to a 4th OFer role. Hyde just needs to keep the OFers fresh by rotating them.
My "hope I'm dead wrong" prediction is that Albert Suarez is toast. I really appreciate what he has been able to do, but based on the last couple of efforts I'm not hopeful that he'll get back to that form. Of course, if the offense stays hot it doesn't mean the O's can't win the games he starts.
Not gonna lie, when Connor mentioned he was going to talk about Pride night, I went straight to the comments to see exactly what I expected...a divided room :) One thing we can all agree on though - BIRDS BY A DAMN BILLION
Nice discussion of Pride Night and recognition of Negro League players. On a completely unrelated subject: As someone with a soft spot for the Nats, I can't root against Max Scherzer--I only hope the Suarez and the O's do better.
Come on man. I can’t go anywhere without hearing about pride this and that. If everyone is so marginalized then why is this all that I hear about? I think that all of the celebrations are tipping the scale from marginalized to overly celebrated. I am exhausted by it all. I don’t care what people do on their own time. But I am sick of it being shoved down my throat all the time asking me to celebrate it. As soon as the cameramen started panning in on little kids with their colored hair, I had to turn the channel. Leave the kids alone.
Kjerstad is doing great, but so did Stowers, and they sent him down. You predicted Stowers would be back in ten days. That's tomorrow. What say you now?
So important to celebrate who everyone wants to have sex with. Especially the kids. Of course Connor says it’s important to be inclusive of everyone unless of course you don’t agree with what he believes. The tolerant left everyone
Many people, even today, have been bullied and attacked just because others even so much as suspect them of being or acting gay. Maybe somehow you've never seen it, but it happened all the time when I was in school growing up. I don't think that should happen, and the best way I think to stop it is to show to others that being gay, trans, or queer is ok, by normalizing it. Celebration is a way of going about that. I think it's strange that sex is so important to our culture too, but this is more about stopping violence against minority groups. Being trans has very little to do with who you have sex with, and they also celebrate pride. Please, you would be doing a great number of people a great service if you would try to think about another person's perspective, before commenting. I think it's ok to feel uncomfortable about it, and I think it's ok to talk about it too, but there are better, more nuanced ways to express yourself.
there are some openly gay players in mlb history, also billy beane is openly gay, its no one bussiness who the sleep with tho, so if they want to keep it to themselves, cowser doesnt come out that he is a chubby chaser, bec its no ones bussiness he likes big girls, they dont call him the milk man for nothinf
Pride night is stupid and celebrating someone’s sex choice is just weird. Baseball isn’t about who’s sleeping with who. People can do what they want in their own beds.. it’s nothing to be “proud”?of.. I’m not proud to be straight I’m just straight. No one should be ashamed.. but being proud of who you sleep with is just weird
It's more about spreading awareness about the realities of the current situation than really celebrating people's romantic preferences. Your point is well understood but it's far too late to just stop at this point.
This will likely fall on deaf ears but it’s not about celebrating who you sleep with it’s about celebrating who you are. Like race, sexuality and gender are not choices. Minorities are and have been oppressed in the US for pretty much its entire history and until recently, things such as your race and sexuality were things society wanted you to be ashamed of assuming you’re not a cishet white person. Things like pride month and black history month and other such things serve as reminders to people in those groups that they shouldn’t be ashamed of who they are and that people should celebrate our differences.
Kenneth it’s not about who you sleep it, it’s about surviving generations of active discrimination and still being there. Gay people celebrate to show themselves and others that they are still here despite all external pressure to be silent and go away. It’s crazy that you are the one engaging in very kind of overly emotional dialogue that you probably accuse others of having. Grow up, gay people watch and play baseball. Life must very hard to wake up every day and hate everything that your great thought leaders have deemed “woke” on social media
Both of u really? Not the place.....pride comes before the fall...this is true.....different type of pride tho they just diddt have the word yet.....inflated egos comes before the fall........i see two of em in this chat.....leave it alone we love the birds thats good enough for me
I'm not Christian, but I tolerate Christmas shoved down my throat not just on December 25, not just the whole month of December, but for three months leading up to it. If I can tolerate everything Christmas that extended period of time, then you can tolerate Pride Night for three hours.
I don’t go to the baseball game to celebrate patriotism but the anthem is shoved down my throat 162 games a year. I doubt you complain about that. I don’t either. I just watch the game and move on with my life like a grown up.
I'm a right of center supporter of the LGTBQ community and believe that everyone should be proud of who they are. Pride night is awesome. Happy that the O's do this. I hope that we not exploit or use people in the community for political fodder. Sweep the Rangers. Go Birds!
That comment is exactly why the pride movement is hypocritical. You want everyone to celebrate pride month and to be able to be accepting of your sexual orientation but if someone doesn't feel it necessary to celebrate your movement you want them canceled and run out of town. Is that the kind of acceptance you desire? How about the acceptance of those who don't believe in celebrating your cause. Just think of others and the values they hold. Equality and the celebration of all humanity, not just those who agree with you. Also just out of curiosity, if genitalia doesn't determine gender how does the cutting off your genitals confirm your gender? Acceptance and the safety of all is paramount, the key word is ALL including non-supporters.
