Happy Orktober! (or Decemb-ork in this case) It's me, Scratch "I took your kids megablocks" Bashing.
In this video I will be showing the process of scratch building a custom(kustom) Ork Battlewagon model for Warhammer 40k, though it doesn't use any official Games Workshop bits. This is a scratch-built / kit-bashed / toy-bashed sci-fi ork vehicle model built using a variety of materials I had in my collection.
I spent 2 days building this model.

A bit late, but terrain that fits 40k Orks as well as fantasy Orks would be an awesome challenge. Something that is timeless yet savage... and kinda silly, like a tooth bank.

Fun fact, Ork "Teef" are also used as currency by the Orks, by which they attack other Orks, and rip their teef out.

I love your ork builds the most. It all looks super lore friendly since all their stuff is made out of scrap haphazardly mashed together and no ork tech has uniformity.

Ok, this is amazing. I actually watched the second part of this first. Watching that video I thought the vehicle was mostly kit bashed from existing vehicle kits. And I really thought most of it looked like GW stuff. Then I realize that I'm watching the second video and come back to watch the first. Holy crap! All of that detail and look from building blocks and various bits from toys, models, popsicle sticks, and scavenged odd bits from soap containers and what not. It's crazy how awesome this looks and I'd never have been able to have noticed what it was made from after you painted it. Amazing work and your eye for parts use and imagination is superhuman.

Spackle is like a premixed plaster/cement type product. It is similar to joint compound, as far as I know.

Many sources. This represents 10-15 years of collecting from garage sales, thrift stores, family, and yes... picking stuff up off the ground. 😄

I go back and forth between a fast curing LePage and DAP. I think the DAP stuff dries harder so I tend to use it on anything that needs to be filed down and keep its edge.

Remember when Orks could literally make anything into a wagon? Now they can't even use other factions vehicles as looted wagons anymore, it's a real shame. GW only loves Space Marine armies

Ah, dude. Love a good kit-bash. Beautiful work I really loved GorkaMorka back in the day, one of the few GW games (besides Mordheim & Necromunda) that actually encouraged kit-bashing & converting your miniatures. Really like what you've done here, man

Welcome! There are some small elements where you cannot hide (and/or it will create a gap between the pieces) a giant blob of hot glue so in those cases I use super glue (and occasionally epoxy).

I have to say you are genius... your way putting things together is amazing. When you add the heavy panel out of the Lego piece... that I have never thought of doing. Over all great work i do like it, never get tire of looking at your videos... is interesting how you manage to put them pieces. and the colors you paint them . Excellent.

The toy tank which parts you used is a German World War 2 Panzer III. Was a bit worried that the turret would look a bit too much like an actual Panzer III, but it turned out great!

Crazy how as soon as the primer goes on, it goes from a literal pile of trash into something Orky as hell. Which I guess is still a pile of trash, but one that is dangerous.

It's probably baking soda (Sodium bicarbonate) it helps to set up super glue quickly and add a bit of structure to it. Like a little welding bead of glue.

Spackling paste or "Polyfilla"

if you use the unmixed stuff (DIY filler,drywall filler or plaster of paris) remember to add PVA, elmers or wood glue to the water to make it less brittle, less chance of it poppin' off plastic.
