This was a great video for Ork army beginners, you definitely have something of everything. Often the meta gets in the way of building an army that you like. Throughout the years I just collected all the Ork models that I liked and could get a hold of. I have a ragtag bunch of Orks that can make armies lists in all kinds of ways. Waaagh on toward 40k subs!!
@CronosVids rule of cool is always better than whatever the meta is! Of you love your minis, you'll keep them and play them, regardless of how strong they are.
I thought 40k meant that there was only 1 warhammer, but it had insanely high resolution. See! That's why I watch your videos; For the knowledge! Lol. Waaagh!
one of My good friends (I grew up with) is in tennessee and is one of the few that still has power and limited cell sevice. they also have horse so they have been able to help alot of other people. another good friend I grew up with lives in florida. the eye of Hurricane Milton was headed right for him.. still no word from him yet. :( I still remember just starting out in 3rd edition and going with the speed freaks. great video!
That's a fine list, right there! I almost thought the last unit was going to be the MekGun, since you had mentioned a Mek and a Trukk. I just recently turned a MekGun and Trukk into 4 MekGuns, 6 Gretchin, a Boy, and a Deffkopta. Orks are amazing! WAAAGH!
I can't handle that 450 is considered a deal for 1k points of 40k. Not to be old, but I remember when GW was selling an entire COMPANY of Space Marines in a box with NINE RHINOS for 450.00, I think it was called the Battle Company box. I think it came out to around 4000 points depending on what everyone was kitted with. And if you wanted more armor you could fill out by getting Black Reach for 50.00, swapping the orks for the marines with a buddy. You'd be able to add 2 extra Captains, 2 Dreads, 10 Terminators and 20 extra lads to your force. Total cost of 500.00
@ashers9680 welcome to inflation. I've done videos a dozen times already showing prices from the 90s to now, and they really aren't much different. The Company set was $1999, I have the advertisement still.
THANK YOU for bringing up how Beastsnaggaz are more chromed up than a lategame Cyberpunk character I am so sick of them being seen as the exemplar Snakebites. Beastsnaggaz are a cool vibe and I like the models but they really need the Space Marine Supplement Chapter treatment. Give them a mini codex.
Congrats on the 4k! Definitely have been one of the more consistent channels, and dedicating it mostly to Orks reall shows your passion. I think even for me who doesnt own any Orks its nice too see someone who is enthusiastic about their faction. Heres to hoping you get half way to 10k by the end of the year
One other way to get some old Ork bodies (without dipping into third party bits, of course) would be to check out the "Orc Boyz Mob" from The Old World line. 31 bodies for $85. And because the old Warhammer Fantasy orc infantry were made around the same time as the the old _ork_ infantry for 40K, the bits are largely compatible. (The "Arrar Boyz" kit is a little harder, since those have a bunch of bodies that have arms attached, though these can be cut off at the shoulder if needed). This could be used to pad out your Ork Boyz, since you just stick the weapon options you don't use onto these Old World boyz. A 3:1 ratio of (40k) Orks to (Old World) Orcs would get you 60 Boyz for less than the price of buying 6 Boyz kits (though you're missing out on three Nobs). They're not so good for making Loota/Burnas, because they don't have the missing arm bit you'd normally source from the Ork Boyz. Though there's probably ways you can free up some offhands from your Ork Shootas, through clever conversion. (Like, for example, give your Shootas some offhand melee weapons from the Old World Boyz kit, which you'll have plenty of. Then just having those Boyz sticking their Shootas in the air or something). Just call the Boyz with medieval bodies recruits that "spawned" on some agriworld. Orks is Orks, even if they're spelling it "Orcs". They pick up shootas or the like just as easy.
Both of those boxes + 1 squad of gretchin and you do have a pretty viable 1k list. I would put Follow Me Ladz on the Beastboss and Supa Cybork Body on the Warboss in MA.
Hello! Yeah, just to let you know, the algorythm put me onto your channel for some reason. Glad it did. Enjoy the vids and your presentation. So im one of these recent 4k.
I think I found an even better loadout. You need: 1x new boys, 1x old boys, 1x Gretchin, 1x Burner/Looter. With that you can make 1 Warboss, 1x Boys, 1x Gretchin, 1x Burner, 1x Looter, 1x Flash gitz. You basically do what you did and then take the two extra legs and bodies to build heavy wheappon boys (big shoota as captain and one or two guns on boy) and with the 3 boys from the new one you have 5 Flash gitz boys.
@demacherius1 I like the idea! Flash Gitz are Nobz though, so your unit might be a bit small unless you bulk them up. You'll also need 40mm bases. But I love the idea!
@absolutfreak5012 agreed a million percent! The Kommandos and Beast Snaggas have interchangeable heads and arms, so hopefully they at least keep that system going.
So... This content is about what ya got for da price. So why are you front and center for 99.9% of the video? Film da stuff ya got and do a damn voice over... wtf geez
