I cried so hard at the Mom footage. My Dad passed away on April 2nd and the day before he passed away he was just so out of it that when I said I love you he didn't respond. I didn't take it to heart because I thought. That's okay I'll see him tomorrow. He died on my way to the hospital to see him and I think about that moment a lot.

I've been experiencing these horrible nightmares about the fact that she died alone. I'm so sorry for your loss Kristie and for the hardship leading up to it. Deep breath in, deep breath out. Thanks for taking the time to reply Marie. I've been told a lot that people choose their time to go. Maybe that's the case with our parents. They didn't think we needed to be there for that moment. Every day we grow stronger all though we miss them even more. My thoughts are with you and your beautiful little family. These Disney Vlogs are precious memories that you'll all cherish forever. They also make me very excited to go next year in what my Mum and I call "Dad's Big American Vacation" which he wanted to do before he passed away. He wanted to go Las Vegas, visit family in Albuquerque, Go to Disney World (And sit in one of the Cozy Cones, he was a big fan of the movie Cars), Take my Mum to see a broadway show in New York City and then go on a cruise to see the polar ice caps in Canada. Since he didn't make it we're doing it for him. These vlogs of yours help me with grieving. Because I feel a very similar loss. So I can relate to the sad moments but I relish in the happy moments you share too. Thank you again for responding. Sorry for the very long response. Hugs. xo
kirstieKABOOM I totally feel for you, and Marie. My dad died 2 years ago nearly to the day, when I was 20. It sucks so bad, you can't even put it into words and I've recently got a job as a teacher, something he knew was my biggest dream and knowing I'll never be able to tell him kills me. We got told that my dad would survive for at least another 2 years and he died that night so I too had that "I'll see him in the morning" thought. I'm sorry I can't offer much advice, just cherish the memories you have together and just know that he's always there with you. I know it's strange, me replying a month after you posted, but I've found knowing others are 'in the same boat' and sharing worries/sad thoughts/advice has helped so much. Hope you're doing ok :)
I can't imagine there's anything I could say that would ease the pain of losing your mom, even two months later. My heart truly goes out to you. But I did want to comment on the sheer adorableness and joy of watching you wake up Scarlett the morning of the Disney trip, and seeing how she danced around with Darcy at the airport, & how they jumped and snuggled together under the covers in matching pjs. You were right that there were a lot of things that past Marie didn't know. Watching the second half of this video again though, I couldn't help but think there were a lot of things she DID know. She knew that she had given her daughter the most amazing birthday gift ever, despite the world throwing half a dozen (or more) obstacles in her way. She knew that she had a best friend who in the midst of celebrating with her own daughter, stopped and asked the princesses to record a message for Scarlett. She knew that she was about to have a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime experience with some of the people she loved most. I know it's not much against grief, but I hope that perspective helps. And although it must be so tough to relive these moments when it is all still so painful and raw, I'm sure future Marie will be so happy to have the precious footage with her Mom to look back on and remember with the kiddies :) xx

Having footage of your mom with Scarlet and Luca is so precious, a lot of people say that we have too much technology and living in the 'selfie era' isn't great. when I saw the suitcase she packed herself I had this vivid memory come back of a bag I had packed myself as a very little girl before we went on our yearly Vacation to either Cape Cod or Old Orchard Beach in ME. My parents let me use a tiny VERY old suitcase and i stuffed it full, and carried it downstairs with the corner left open spilling with blankets and my teddies :) It is weird that i remember that so well. Thanks for accidentally bringing back one of my earlier memories I hadn't thought about in probably over a decade
As someone who has their family live 5 hours away, any ounce of time spent with them is a gift to be treasured. I'm so sorry for your loss, Marie. On a much brighter note, it looks like the kids are incredibly excited to be at Disney! Patiently waiting for the next video to see how excited Scarlet will be for her days in Disney!
It's so lovely to see your Mom, and that you have videos to cherish. My Dad passed away away last week. He was completely paralyzed from strokes. I have so many pictures from the last yr, and a few videos during rehab after his 3rd stroke. Sorry I'm babbling. It's just so meaningful to have those.

this is unbelievably sweet and i'm so glad you're sharing this experience with all of us. i'm from sweden and never had the chance to have a disney experience as a kid, but this reminds me of my first ever holiday abroad ( i was 4 and went to greece... a vacation of which i have very strange memories like the confusion of seeing pistachio nuts for the first time and crying in the arms of the old lady owning the hotel we stayed in...). the anticipation of something big happening! oh well, thank you for sharing all these sweet moments, never fails to make me smile :-)

Losing your mom is so difficult. I lost my mom 14 years ago, and I'm still not sure if I could make it through editing footage of her. It will be nice down the line to have those happy memories and moments to go back to. You're a strong mama! :)

I know it's not the same, but I lost my dad when I was 8. He had MS-Multiple Sclerosis, i don't really remember him and that makes me very sad that i don't remember him very well. I believe your mum is looking down on you and thinking how brave and strong you are, the clip where your mum said "I love you" was so touching, cherish that

How wonderful these are! It's so fun to watch. You see, I've never been to Disney and probably never will at this point nor do I have children of my own. Maybe it's weird to experience some things vicariously through Vlogs but I do enjoy it so. Watching Scarlett almost makes me believe in magic, too. I met my online bestie for the first time at that fountain and seeing you and Louise by it brought back so many happy memories. My kids are 6 and 2, hers are 6 and 4 months, and we can't wait to take them all to Disneyworld together in a few years when the littest gets older.
