@@birdspiders btw. my little advice, you can show more vievs and shots and the same time talking to us. Like this video will be more curiose, Thank you😉
Seeing a poki in a natural setting is so much more interesting than via a video taken by some guy with lots of money who's never been further "outside" than the perimeter of his/her garden, bragging about how experienced they are with tarantulas.

Another legend job bro- love your species info in vids! In this year I will go to Srilanka... cmon i have to see wild subfusca :D What camera and lens do you have? Great, sharp zoom close ups.
I learned the poecilotheria Subfusca has two forms. Highland and lowland form. The one that you captured on film is the lowland form, Aka Poecilotheria Bara.
Vortex 220 the one that I filmed here is the highland form, living above 1600 meters above sea level. There is another species indeed, the "lowland" form, which lives around 400 meters above sea level and grows significantly larger
Thank you for this interesting, informative and educational video. It is very nice to watch these tarantulas in their natural living space, other than in captivity. So often I ask myself if these plastic containers, glass or acrylic enclosures are not way too small for them, in which they have to live. Maybe they don‘t need a lot of space bc they are ambush predators for example, but a life in a shoe box could not be very satisfying - not either for a spider, I think. Or am I completely wrong? I am very afraid of spiders but I love to watch tons of videos about them bc they are so fascinating. A few months ago I didn‘t know that there are tarantulas in blue, pink, purple and so on with all these patterns... I love it.😍 Just subscribed and go on with your amazing work.👍🏼😊
what a comment! Thanks a lot for your interest :) as you state correctly, tarantula spiders are ambush predators and therefore do not need a lot of space to feel comfortable. So yes, a shoebox might actually be a very good house, in case that shoebox offers them protection, a dark hide and the right temperature. It's difficult to explain and a lot of people do not want to understand this, as they always think about how much space their cat needs fot example :) all in all, tarantulas are very good pet animals, as they are totally fine with living in tight places, as they prefer it anyway
Why so low number of views? This is amazing! You deserve millions of views! Just stunning species on your channel and quality of the videos are amazing! Good luck and keep up the good work man! Greetings from Croatia 😊😊😀
It's hard to get started here on youtube - but I hope persistence is key and somewhen more people will visit :) Thanks for your kind words! Great to have you onboard
Chocking how small that last female where if she really is an adult. I don't keep Poecilotheria spp. myself but I get 5 Poecilotheria sp. lowland this week
another quality video! thanks for sharing your experience! I'm particularly interested in wild tarantula behavior and want to see whats different to captive tarantula, can you cover more on that side? things like communal behavior, hunting, diet, temperament, defense etc are pretty interesting to see. looking forward to your next video!
Great to hear! Will try to cover that and let you know, check out the Coremiocnemis hoggi video, where I cover some behaviour difference between wild specimens, as they are very friendly and calm
I am not a big fan of poecilotheria, due to the over hype of them in the hobby. However, after watching this video. I think I may have just over looked the hype and will be buying a few. They actually look amazing! Thanks for these videos!
it is not strange, as wildlife is protected in many countries around the globe. Poecilotheria species got smuggled a lot a few years back, thats why we all are having these as pet tarantulas now. Forest rangers seeing you searching for tarantulas brings you in big trouble in Sri Lanka and other countries, as they don't distinguish between "research and personal pictures" and "smuggling and stealing spiders"
