The Tropeognathus has arrived to Beasts of Bermuda, and I'm self-centered enough to disregard it's scientific name and call it Ornithocheirus instead. It's a nostalgia thing.
I'm glad I'm not the only one, to be honest. Every one I've created I've lost to fall damage in a stupid way. I thought I was just bad, lol. I feel like I don't run into that issue as much as ptera. Seems like it's a bug, especially as Pesky clearly RAMMED HIMSELF INTO THE GROUND and lived a the end of the video.
@@onlyalbatross That's because the game differentiates between crash-landing and falling. The former is very deliberate so the game considers it as the Trope/Ptera bracing for the impact and mitigating the damage. It's still a bit nuts that they can dive like that and take so little damage, but that's how it works. In contrast, if you clip something and FALL, or walk off a ledge, and drop [ie, not having your wings spread and not having control over the descent], that is falling and the game considers it an accident that the animal is not or cannot brace for. Hence dying from a much smaller drop. And yeah, it's stuff like that that makes me a very high flier as Trope. I might be able to pull forest-weaving off as Ptera, but Trope lacks the manoeuvrability for it.
3:43 FanFact actually, there where some footprints found of a human mother carrying her baby, and then letting it walk by a lake, and at the same time a sloth was in the location and from what its footprints say it reacted to them, meanwhile a mammoth was also there and it seemed to ignore them. So yeah that scene from the first Ice Age movie kinda happend in real life. theconversation.com/fossil-footprints-the-fascinating-story-behind-the-longest-known-prehistoric-journey-147520
I don’t know what it is about Beasts of Bermuda, but the not so advanced graphics and animation makes the game feel “nostalgic” and fun to play, as well as the mechanics it’s got.
Little bit of advice: Bias boosts your Comfort. So in a way, it does boost your growth rate (since Comfort does), just not directly. Also, would highly recommend putting your growth/damage/comfort numbers up on screen. It's a bit jarring at first, but suuuper useful. Growth helps you see what boosts your growing and what lessens it. Damage is rather obvious. And Comfort not only shows how much Bias you gain from eating flowes/sponges/crystals, but it also shows you when your meat is even slightly spoiled! (because it ticks down your bias like crazy, unless you have Scavenger). Hope to see you playing this game again soon! Edit: Also, you want a fast land dino? Try growing a Speed Pachy. Turn into a goddamn bullet streaking downhill. Edit 2: You also take off waaay faster when sprinting.
*in Kenneth Branagh voice: "He is ornithocheirus. 12 meters from wingtip to wingtip, and a body bigger than a man's, he is the undisputed king of the skies."
Sadly you can't scent fish from above the water anymore, as it wasn't compatible with the ocean Can only really memorise fish locations and go from that at the moment
By far the best and strongest of the dinosaur survival games, seriously Bob is the only game that feels like an actual fun game and still stays Accurate to their animals.
@@uttertrash9055 you cant smell other players in flight now. but you can smell everything else. From what i heard the new ocean shader doesnt work with the old fish smell highlight. Its not just tropeo, i heard someone say they cant smell fish as an icthy either.
Hiya Pesky I watch you a lot from your Primal Carnage & The Isle videos and I am really pleased to see you comming back to Beasts Of Bermuda again! If you would want to play together let me know ! I play this game quite a lot lol (1.5k+ hours xD) I love Tropeo so much. Here is some info: You cant sadly smell fish anymore in this patch something happened , they need to fix it. Also Tropeo can't hurt apatosaurus same as Tropeo. Another fact. There are two different type of flowers. Bias flowers - dantelions Hp flowers - purple ones. Blue crystals - heals & gives bias Orange crystals - heals. Also for Tropeo in survival I don't think you really shouldnt go strict Speed & Survival more like combat & survival to survive. Also trust me Pesky you died from that fall because you were UNDER 1.0. If you would be above 1.2+ you would survive this fall. Trust me fall resistance is not only about talents only as well for size. Hope that information helps a lot Pesky
Also yeah. Fall resistance is bigger of you are bigger. Basically i could jump from cave shelf down the floor on ptera mountain barely taking damage. (My tropeo is 1.4+ with survival & Combat build)
Oh right, if you hold E your bird will slow down so you can land safer. These birds are also overly sensitive to fall damage, i lost 4 of mine to fall damage.
Fast lurdu would be terrifying. They're actually really strong, I've killed rexes with a combat lurdu, and they can kill just about anything in the water. Which is why KOS lurds are so scary on minimal rules servers.
For those of you who are wondering why "Ornithocheirus" is called Tropeognathus in Beasts of Bermuda, here is a section of Ornithocheirus's wikipedia article: "Several species have been referred to the genus, most of which are now considered as dubious species, or members of different genera, and the genus is now often considered to include only the type species, Ornithocheirus simus. Additional fossils from the Santana Formation of Brazil are sometimes classified as species of Ornithocheirus, but have also been placed in their own genera, most notably Tropeognathus." Hope this helps, have a very nice day everyone!
I completely agree with you being scared of other birds... Rouge birds are terrifying! Once I was a .6 Tropeo and 3 1.2+ Tropeos tried to kill me but I was big brain enough to dive into the water and change my colors to kelp colors to match the kelp... I lived, it was a miracle.
On that map, there are usually fish near seaweed underwater and there are two fishing holes near a middle island. As the torpedo, you need to invest 3/3 into aqua affinity to smell fish, and you must be in the water to smell them. Fishing is super fun. I have 4/3 aqua on one of mine and can swim as fast as an icthy. :)
Pesky if you didn't know you can brake too slow down and land safely it should be you're interact button and you hold it down when flying, love the vids btw.
you have to dive into the water now and sniff the fish for them to glow, they're still in the same spots they usually spawn. and you can hold down either E or Q (i forget but check your controls, its whatever you use to eat) to slow down and land safely.
It's nice seeing BoB getting better and better. Slowly, but surely. *Still not without flaws obviously...* When were you playing Lurdu though? Lurdu's speed was buffed in the Tropeo patch. It's in the patch notes. As for fishing, there are a couple of fishing spots. It's hard to see fish now, especially from above. Try diving down and sniffing around (for fishers fish lights up when you sniff). You can find A LOT of fish in the deep ocean pit that is by the swamp on Bridge Island (yeah that human-made bridge). You'll be able to easily see this round pit if the ocean level is super low. Beware though! A lot of fishers and big water predators come there to feed. As for your crash... Ooops. You do have to be careful. Your landing and/or crash resistances probably only mitigate the crash against the tree (or any first thing you fly into), but then you tumble down and that's not considered landing, but a messy fall and you aren't very likely to survive that.
If u fall (hit a tree and fall or get knocked out of the aky) u get normal fall damage like land creatures but if you're flying you get a flying buff that makes it so you don't die on impact with the ground like you would falling from a tree.
You can smell fish with full aqua affinity but you can also see them sometimes and it's best to keep in mind where they are sometimes. As a flyer they give you satiation so you have to eat less often
Hey Pesky! I have been watching you for a while now and I just stumbled upon your video here and I would love to know what the song in the tropeognathus intro was. If you can thx😁
I agree - me who has to play primal carnage extinction with 320x200 and minimum settings otherwise i will ultra lag because of my shitty 2000's laptop Luckily im getting a gaming pc this year
I agree with you that the big land dinos are too slow and not very fun because of that. Velo is the total opposite tho, its a blast to play. If you get 5/3 for the jumping talent and speed its SO FUN.
pesky this is some tips for ya in bob firsts off its allways better to be nested in if you are a spawn dino like your ORNITHOCHEIRUS you will get low inherits and like you have had, you can get a - however if you get nested you have a way higher chance of getting +2s inherits and +1s also you grow faster with your group!
I got a problem, for some reason the waves that I see aren’t actually moving. The texture is there but I’m not seeing any wave motions. I’m not sure if my game didn’t update right or if I’m using an older computer.
Great vid man ur awesome also why hate to make the comparison to ark abbaration they are kinda similar to what your talking about and they are both great games imo
You would've thought that the trope could kill pteras... Me and my friends got attacked, we were all adult tropes and we all nearly died. There was 5 of us. Probably like 4 pteras... But it was also a surprise attack but still..
Pesky: Iguanodon can jump 100 feet out of the water (I think he meant lurdu) Me: Pesky, Pesky, Pesky, Have you ever played elasmosaurus? it can jump 200 feet outta the sky, and you think that...that- Lurdu can jump high?! well, elasmosaurus can jump WAY higher.
Only thing about the trailer for trope that was inaccurate was the wing beat only knocking back pteras and velos. Wing beat can kill big megs and pachies in two hits Those pteras and velos are fucking dead, it can do like 200+ damage at 1.0
