A new interview with Time Magazine paints a disturbing picture of what a second Trump term could look like. Norm Ornstein, senior fellow emeritus at the American Enterprise Institute, joins Ali Velshi to discuss the most alarming revelations from the interview, why outright statements about his plans to misuse federal power are so unusual, and the challenges it poses for the media covering Trump and Biden this election cycle. @lakristianking7117 Well, the answer to your problem is to increase the size of the House of Representatives. It is supposed to be huge and unruly and it stands for election every two years because it is supposed to reflect the will of the people. We have not increased the size of the House since 1929 and the representatives have become as elite as senators. We had 88 representatives in 1789 with a population of 3 million. We should have about 9000 now, and if we did we would see many tradespeople and laborers elected. AND the freezing of the size of the House is the reason that the Electoral College no longer accurately reflects the population of the states. This can be done through legislation.

Our Republic is a Democracy. Republic = state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch. Democracy = system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members (voters), through elected representatives. We have already see, since 2020 that actual policy debates in the House are within the Democratic Caucus, particularly in Pelosi's last term as Speaker. That is not good when there are also 200 or more other members of the House who basically don't participate in policy debates but obsess over personnel matters: who is Speaker? Please tell me what exactly is your problem with immigrants? They’re all coming here because conditions in Mexico are unbearable. Here in America, they don’t have to live in fear of drug cartels. South Park did an episode where all of the Mexicans living in the US returned to Mexico, and it caused the economy to tank because American citizens were too lazy to do menial tasks like raking leaves or washing windows. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, without immigrants, you’d have to be out there doing backbreaking labor like picking fruit in the fields or fixing roads. I just commented on a video I watched with Chris Wallace on CNN and a panel of experts calmly discussing a second Trump term, and questioning the merits versus the negative aspects.
