This is a very important question when interviewing. You want to have time to feel acclimated to your new job as an NP. I would ask questions about the average new provider orientation. Red flags are ,”1-2 days or a week”.😳
I typically follow the algorithm for the specific condition to decide about steroids or muscle relaxants. Typically for orthopedic injuries, there's a LOT of people prescribing steroids but not a ton of research supporting it's efficacy over other NSAIDs. So typically I'm following a muscle relaxant/NSAID/physical therapy combination for most MSK injuries! Up-to-Date is my favorite reference to consult
