I am glad to hear the OCA’s ecclesiology discussed. It is one of the saddest aspects of North American Orthodoxy in my experience, and speaks to the larger issue of our faith in the Americas. It was a true shame how Metropolitan Jonah was treated, it horrified me then, and has kept me from visiting OCA churches since. The laity needs the Bishops to guide them first and foremost, anything else is sure to fail as the flock does not lead itself.
“Councils override Bishops” Could not agree more! As a catechumen this time has been almost impossible, fortunately I have some brave priests and bishops in my area who have persevered.
I would like to see them too. I'm catholic and I've been on a religious journey learning all the other Christian doctrines before solidifying my faith. I've went their pretty much all of the protestant ones and even Muslim, I saved the best for last which is the orthodox.
