Light of Christ I always thought the same thing. I am Greek Orthodox but went to Catholic schools, so I got to experience both liturgy’s, and much preferred the Greek Orthodox service, even though it was over twice as long to be standing on your feet...
How ancient is this musical tradition ! Respect for this and Gregorian Chant which take us back more than a millennium and a half and perhaps Much more..
The Choruses reveal the Greek origin of Orthodox Church. It is not only the language. Which is not surprising, since it was Greek speaking people who "invented" this all. :)
