David - I will give you a call soon. I do want to let you know that visited an Antiochian Orthodox Church and have really fallen in love with it. I was a cradle Catholic whose family were deceived into the Jehovah's Witness cult when I was about 6 years old. About 30 years ago Christ found me, and I became a true Christian. The one thing that always stood out in my mind was the Eucharist. Jesus said what He said. "This is my body". "This is my blood". Not this means. Not this represents. Rather, This IS. I returned to the Catholic Church where I could partake of Communion and eat the body and blood of my Savior. Still, I felt something was missing. When I went to the Orthodox Church for the first time it reminded me of when I used to attend mass when I was a kid. Pre-Vatican, with the sense of awe in worshipping God. I am now studying the Orthodox Church with the priest from the church I attended. I do want to ask you some questions on your conversion, so I will give you a call soon and hope you have time to discuss it when I call. To all you out there that feel there is something missing, I point you in the direction of the Orthodox Church. What drew me in most is that it was a continuation of the Antioch Church mentioned in the Scriptures. It truly is experiencing the worship the early Christians experienced. And of course, the central issue - partaking of the body and blood of Christ as He commanded. Thank you for your videos. They kept me thinking and finally God drew me in. I pray your efforts at establishing an Orthodox Church where you're at is blessed by God. I look forward to talking with you, and again, I want to stress to the many that feel the confusion and endless personal doctrines of the Protestant side of the Church has begun to stand in the way of their worshipping God. Visit an Orthodox Church and experience for yourself worship as it has been from the beginning of Christianity once the worship was in Churches. It will all fall into place for you and you will find that God is there in a unique and very intimate and awe-inspiring way.

Wonderful video! Fr. Finley's visit was a great blessing for all and I know we are all prayerful that his visit will help engender the founding to a new Orthodox mission (and eventually church) in St. George. Having been in a bit a spiritual wilderness myself here in Cedar City with the closest Orthodox Church hours away, I have been reminded of the words of St. Athanasius that he who does not have the Church as a mother cannot have God as a Father. No one is saved alone. Tom Knight.

I thought it was St. Cyprian who said that. Great quote in any case.

Summary of my journey towards my faith: Poor catechesis in the Catholic Church, which led to a legalistic relationship with God. Became atheist.... years later identify myself as just a Christian. So I was Protestant. But still felt a hungry for God. Investigated Orthodoxy and Catholicism. Now I am a practicing Catholic with a love for the East.
