Here's the fourth generation of the Ortomi electronic pet! They now have sounds and more animations. Future updates to come! Where to get one: ortomi.com/product/gen4/
I own a the Gen 3 and Gen 4. They are cool little bots. I keep them with me all the time. Note: in order for these bots to do their other reactions you must let them be and not touch them. As for the firmware updates, you will need a PC. There is an update firmware out that fixes some minor issues on the Gen 4 Ortomi. Both Gen 3 and 4 have wifi in them and if not mistaken the Gen 4 also has bluetooth. Seems that the board used is an ESP32 Pico variant/custom PCB board.
Thank you for the excellent information! I don't think I'll be able to do the updates since Chrome Books don't seem to be able to work with them unfortunately.
@514arif It's okay. Emo is really all you need. The company that owns Cozmo has not been around for months so I don't know if Cozmo will continue to keep working.
I’ve been following these for a year now, but haven’t taken the plunge of purchase! Both of my daughters are interested, and so am I, however; being blind, it would be beneficial if they made different sounds that would go along with the various emotions being expressed! I hope that is an update in the future
@@outsider238 mine had a rattaling noise but i managed to fix it (It was the battery, they forgot to remove the protective film of the adhesive during production thankfuly that was an easy fix that i could do it at home)
@unboxingsigamingcueric1060 Oh thank goodness you were able to fix it! Yeah I noticed the front can be removed to see inside. I didn't show that because I didn't want to encourage people to mess around with the insides. 😁
Yeah I think the price will scare a lot of people away. But it is a nice alternative if someone doesn't want to or can't get get the more expensive robot pets.
@@outsider238 Yeah, EMO, if I recall correctly, was around $300 when I ordered mine, and unlike Ortomi, I don’t think I can bring EMO with me to work.
It looks like you'll have to use a Windows or Apple computer to do it which means I'm out since I use a Chrome book. The face plate is removable so I'm guessing there's a connection point inside. I didn't take mine apart to look.
@@outsider238would a laptop with windows on it work? I’m so sorry I sound so untechnical!! I literally can’t understand any of it! Such cute little robots, I would love to update them though but can’t find out any details or what windows version etc. great video by the way! X
I dislike the new one because they sead they ware gone give the 3.1 the same updates but the whent like no and they lied about how they could not use the wifi antenna on the gen 3
@@outsider238 maybe but no was the final thing they said after posting that they ware gone do it. Also they used to 3d-print the ortomi case and assemble it them selfs but now it sounds like they out source every thing. Also warning the new cable do not transfer data, so you can't update them with that one but the old one of the 3 does have data transfer.
