The download link on your site doesn't seem to work. The link for the previous model didn't work either. Could you check and see why it won't let us download any give this model a try? Thanks.
You should start selling these...I WOULD BUY ONE TODAY. i don't do any 3d printing. Can you buy any air assist kits ANYWHERE for my Ortur Laser Master 2? Thanks.
Your content is really good, thanks for supporting the community. Your busy hands in the shots are really distracting, suggest you minimize that to keep people focused on your message.
I’m about to assemble my 20 watt otur master 2 laser. Got the G8 lens and a light burn camera. Will do the 30days free before purchasing. Sooo, maybe a question or two. The G8 I received, the barrel (?), was not attached to the lens. On the barrel there is one end with a slot (like set up for a screwdriver) other end no slot. Does it matter which end I attach to the lens? And the Teflon tape, I assume it’s put on the end that goes into the main body of the laser? Oh yeah, since I’m old as dirt I also picked up the usb microscope. I’m curious to see if I can get it to cut through some 3mm plywood.
Yes there is a direction to the lens and that is typically slot side down and yes to the tape entering the body. Also yes to the 3mm ply wood. Note with the plywood is it varies and the glue will be a factor in cutting it. So you might want to try different bands to find the best one,,,
Thanks for the file, I printed it but when I installed it looks like it might hit the rail on the right side when you engrave something that brings the X axis all the way to the edge. Did you have any problems with that?
Hi! I'm going around and around in circles because every link you have listed for the new air assist 3d print (stl file) goes back to the first version. I have already had the first version printed twice, and the laser does not line up with the hole at the bottom which is quite annoying. I think it needs 3 screws instead of 1 to hold the lens properly in alignment with the air assist nozzle. I would really like to print the second version, but every link I have gone to on Thingiverse and RU-vid lead back to the old file. Please fix!
You would be foolish not to have one especially on a small laser! An air assist does three things (1) snuffs out fire and especially cutting cardboard you needs this watch my fire video and I can send you many more that happened because I did not have air assist! Second (2) is to clear the smoke from the beam to prevent attenuation of the beam, this makes a huge difference, and (3) clears the kref of ash to allow the beam to strike virgin material as ash is an insulator. See you learned something new today!
@@IronMan-yg4qw You have literally no idea what you're talking about... do you? Air assist helps with ANY diode laser, primarily with clearing debris and ash to improve cutting performance. Fires are also a serious issue on paper, cardboard, card stock and soft woods like balsa and basswood. Try harder next time.
@@johnhancock6951 thats just stupid. air assist dont help with engraving. actually can hurt it. but air is always good to blow away smoke from lens. so if air is npt pointing at focus point then it will help by blowing smoke away. air assist is important for cutting!!
@@IronMan-yg4qw You should probably reread my comment, specifically this section: "Air assist helps with ANY diode laser, primarily with clearing debris and ash to improve cutting performance." You go on to "debate" me, then confirm my position a few sentences later: "air assist is important for cutting!!" Now, tell me which part of my comment is "stupid", considering you literally just proved my point for me... inadvertently. Seriously, are you even trying at this point?
