The Airport Ninja Airline Bicycle Travel Case by Orucase is quick and easy to pack. Follow these steps below and you'll be flying free in no time.
Depending on how your bike is set up - especially as it relates to cable routing and handlebar configuration - you may find it easier to make slight modifications or additions to our packing process. Handlebars can be oriented vertically as shown, or horizontally along the top tube or down tube. Towels, clothes, or other packing materials can be used to wrap the frame or bars if you prefer. Some ninjas even prefer to pack their frame upside down, with the headtube nestled into the bottom corner.

Thanks for the updated video. I'm loving my Orucase and no airline fees! My packing is similar except I - 1) remove the rear hanger with the derailleur. 2) put a few pieces of pipe insulation around tubes to prevent scuffing by handlebars, seat post, etc. 3) put my helmet in the rear triangle. 4) use hub protectors on the wheel axels (airlines have worn the outside side where the protectives squares are)

Does anyone have experience packing a touring bike with racks? Would there be any room to wedge a rack somewhere in between frame? Can certainly pack it in another bag, but curious. Thank you!

What do you recommend for the Di2 battery besides unplugging it? Should we leave it in this bag or take it as part of carry on luggage?

Most people leave them on the bike. Just unplugged!

It's such a nice bag, but too bad you can't unmount bikes with disc brakes quite so easily. Especially with internal brake lines running through a fork.

Ah, but you can... www.sram.com/sram/road/technologies/connectamajig

No need to disconnect any hydro brake lines! Instead of packing the fork in the pocket, you can place it along the downtube! We've got a lot of customers with internally routed hydro disc bikes.

@Orucase, curious about the size dimensions. I assume the bag is under the airlines oversize limits?

We make multiple size cases from under the limit to just over. Our largest, which fits a size large 29er trail bike still flies for free the vast majority of the time according to our customers.

Hi, How does a dropper post work out?

does it works for mountain bike? 27.5 rear/front suspension (Canyon Strive)
@orucase

Yup. We make a case that will fit up to a large 29er full suspension mountain bike. It's a little bigger, but our customers are having good luck flying for free with it still.

what do you do with the rear deurailer and front brake? Are they just hanging off the bike?

To each his own, I generally don't pad my bike when I fly, but some customers definitely do. You can use pipe insulation and zipties.

Is there a separated storage area for other things I might want to pack, like clothes? I’d love to be able to use whatever weight is left over for additional items, but it would have to be a separate compartment so that it doesn’t get grease on it - I think in the description on your website you mentioned fitting souvenirs in it.

Hi Aaron, The case does not have a separate compartment for things like clothes. The extra space in the case is distributed around the bike. Since the case is designed for work with many bikes, any clothes compartment would risk interfering with the fitment of the bike in the case. What we recommend is to pack clothes and any other items you want to keep clean in a separate, lightweight bag such as a camping 'stuff sack' or a string backpack. This way you can fit these items where you have space, such as above the rear triangle, or inside the front triangle. If you have further questions, the best way to get in contact with us is via email at info@orucase.com Cheers!

@Orucase So this bag is meant to fly inside the cabin with you? I'm going to take a wild guess this Ninja Bike Pack fits inside the overheard compartment.

Hi Osvaldo, the case is small, but not small enough to fit in an overhead bin! It must be checked in with regular hold luggage.
