i fitted the even bigger KD 63-24L motor from hobbyking. at full throttle it produces almost 60V at no load! too much for the system. but that means i can easily get 24V at almost idle. next problem is the FS40 is too small - produces close to no power at low rpm. therefore the next modification will be a FS 91 or something like it.
this was a cold start - as u can see not using the finger-choke-technique it woudn't start.
at full throttle and higher rpm i get around 130W now from the system.
if the fs40 produces lets say 400W at the crank - that makes around 30% efficiency on the generator part - not very impressive.

windings on the coils are connected in series to get a higher voltage or a bridge to get the wattage low voltage

Hello, could you please elaborate this statement. Or could you just give some reference to a paper that explains it. I'm planning on making generator of 1.8kW using 4kW rated brushless outrunner with 120 KV. Can I get that power output without rewinding?

make a flywheel where that prop is since you are cooling it by electric fans anyways and it will make the engine run much much smoother

@30GB i think the outrunner acts already as a big flywheel. i dont see the engine running any smoother though additional weights. it ran pretty rich in the video. it runs much smoother in idle in leaner setting. but then its not as responsive on the throttle anymore.

but als you hawe too week engin for outrunner but compresion 2x1 schuld help for 1.2 kw i think that maximum with this compresion

Great project! Very impressive! I'm building a 1/4-scale Rolls Royce Merlin, and an alternator would be a great addition. What is the 'CC-CV' board you mentioned? Can I get a schematic of your system?

cc-cv in your project can working with 900w??? plz send to me the link of cc-cv. i suggest to replace the alternator (brush less motor) by anther one have higher power.

what would that actually help with? a smoother, stable rpm? and for that you would add all this mass. how much exactly? my current outrunner (after an upgrade, see newest video) weighs +600g. that i would consider as more than "no mass at all" this one was i think 450g. still more than most likely 50times heavier that a standart prop. even considering the radius.

That's a little OHV 4 stroker isn't it? The valves up top....lol. Good idea, saves you having to carry heavy 12v sealed lead acid battery around to charge off.

it's a commerical board bought from ebay for around 50dollars sold in germany. its easily capable of +300W. but maybe for your project u can just buy a smaller one. there's plenty of CCCV boards on ebay for around 10bucks. they'll do around 2A. so, sorry, i dont have any schematics. i know this engine! great stuff, let me know when its running i might be able to help out with an onboard generator.

@30GB the generator is not wide so it has no mass at all so wide flywheel will help alot like a propeller

i dont understand the question ? you mean what charger i hook up?

you sculd modificate magnets and wireing on coils first iven on full trothle will give you nothi firt wires schuld be at same way roled all the magnets should be placed in the coil at the same time, each the same pole of the coil, each then you will see results 400wats products + overbore

What r u using to turn the power into power to charge the battery?

Actually @30GB it would almost have too much weight. Look at an rc car... Their flywheels are about an 1 1/2 inches in diameter and the nitro engines don't need a flywheel. Planes can always run smooth cause they got that giant prop. Rc cars flywheels are measured just enough to keep it both light and keep enough performance without ruining the power.

it might be possible with additional cooling of some of the elements on the board. check for ebay item 221158580929

yep 400/130 ~ 0,3 but it was just a guess. this was all this setup could do, check out my new upgrade with an FS70. this should do around 200W
