Navy here, I love the Rocky SV2. They tanked the climb up Mt Fuji and a month long event in the Lao jungle. As I am now in more of an office role, I have switched to the lighter but less protective Oakleys, but if I were to return to the dirt, Rockys all the way!

Well duh dipshit. Of course they aren't going to wear snow Cammie's in the desert. They wear whatever is most appropriate for the mission but ITS OF THEIR OWN PERSONAL PREFERENCE. There can be several different kinds of equipment from different manufacturers that are suitable for the same mission, the operators will usually bring whichever is in tune to their preference. When people say they use or wear whatever they want they don't mean they're bringing whatever tf they want even if it isn't necessary for the mission. They mean they bring stuff that necessary for the mission but there's plenty of options for that said equipment.🤦

People, or "brand loyalists", who complained about being made in China did so because made in china, not because of actual empirical facts. I 2015 after a decade of public outcry, the head Red Wing shoes announced major changes In the shoes including the use of US leather. While he said production would return to Italy, the final product was fully assembled in Vietnam and Cambodia using parts from China, Italy, and US. The boots NEVER said "Made in Italy" and quality continued to suffer while price increased. That's why they've been discontinued

this sounds rather laughable. I'm pretty sure that whatever gear was required, especially for operations like this, is whatever gear is required, especially clothing articles, doesn't/didn't require special approval as you wrote. I seem to recall a wide variety of shoes and boots on feets. Now, just because ST6 wore Juxt on this mission, doesn't make them a good shoe for all applications. In fact, if you are in rugged dry climate, I can see wearing the Juxt. The soles are terrible on muddy and wet stuff like rocks, though. The boots also do no breathe all that well, so even in hotter days in dry, rugged climates, they aren't necessarily the best option for hikers and backpackers.

I wouldn't mind knowing what socks they wear, my feet get too frigging hot all the time! Right now I use a two sock system, both layers being a thin polypropylene. My boots are Lowa Combat mountain GTX, La Sportiva and Keen Combat.
