He was still relevant in 2016 when I visited New York and was sitting outside at a restaurant but maybe had gone in to pay and one of the group of waiters looking at football on the TV screen shouted out, Oscar de la Renta! Sounds apocryphal but quite true, but unfortunately the restaurant, an old fashioned elegant one but not expensive, had closed the next time I visited.
Oscar De La Renta is a good designer. His design is very classy, tasteful, elegant and eye ctatching. Any first lady wears night or day dresse, it reflects the gorgeous images which matches the status as the first lady very much. Often, the image for first lady is so important. Designer needs to be very creative and artistic with wonderful imaginations with the good tastes.
