Nel is proving that Pistorius is NOT telling the truth, he is simply repeating what Roux has told him to say. As soon as the questioning gets outside of what Roux has anticipated, Pistorius cannot answer the direct questions. OP: I accidently shot (4 times!!!!!) through the closed toilet door because I thought someone was going to attack me. THE DOOR WASN'T OPENING!!!!! It is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS that OP claims it was an accident, like he took his gun with its lethal bullets and shot 4 fucking times through a closed door at someone he didn't even take the time to identify??? Hey Reeva, is that you ??????? WHAT THE FUCK????? OP is lying through his teeth, even if he gets off the murder rap by some miscarriage of justice, he will almost certainly be CONVICTED of a lesser charge.
A whimpering, contradicting, argumentative defendant, and one who consistently says “I can’t remember”, “I don’t know“, “I don’t understand the question put to me” is a GUILTY ONE. He clearly remembers the insignificant things that took place, but cannot remember anything that is critically important to his obvious guilt. He doesn’t take responsibility for anything that he has previously done, he accuses everyone else of lieing about evidence or what was said. He repeatedly changes his version and what he says throughout the cross examination, it’s so obvious that he is not telling the truth. He is in truth being caught out and crucified by Prosecutor Nel. Oscar, just admit to the world what you did, at least some people will respect your honesty, but most importantly, you owe that to Reeva and her family.
why did Oscar jump to such a dramatic conclusion of who was in the toilet before he even looked for reeva? Why did he guess ? Oscar doesn't strike me as dumb- he strikes me as quite an intelligent individual - someone who wouldn't make this kind of mistake-
He wasn't guessing. He knew exactly where she was and why she there. She was in that bathroom because he woke up and she was asleep. Her crime was not following the narcissist's strict instructions. Before you go to sleep, bring in the fans and close the doors. She did not do this and that is the reason she is dead.
My lady, The witness is lying through his teeth and Reeva's soul is waiting for justice which I hope you will give it.Ever heard or seen a burglar hiding in bathroom and being shot through the door 4 times without harming anyone??Wont anyone look for his girlfriend first before shooting a closed bathroom door??Are we all idiots and morons??Is it so easy to get away with murder??Justice, my lady!
*WOW! Oscar's Case is FAR WORST than I Imagined...* *Oscar CAUGHT LYING AGAIN!* 4/9/14 (6:22 pm) Oscar is saying that he NEVER went out onto the balcony to get the fans and that he remained in his bedroom when handling the fans which were in the doorway of the balcony. That's TERRIBLE. That means that by Oscar being in his bedroom while handling the fans, Oscar was EVEN CLOSER to Reeva when he ALLEGEDLY heard a noise in the restroom and got his GUN and then went to the RESTROOM to SHOOT! So, Oscar should have DEFINITELY EXPECTED the ALLEGED noise to be coming from Reeva in the restroom AND if Reeva got up to go to the restroom, Oscar HAD to have heard her since HE was STILL in the BEDROOM with her and AGAIN, Oscar was even CLOSER to Reeva by being in the bedroom with her than he would have been IF he was on the balcony. Also, if there was NO light on as Oscar indicated and if it was PITCH DARK, then HOW IS IT that Reeva made HER WAY to the restroom? Could she have used her cell phone light and if she did, would it have JUST been EASIER to simply cut on the light IF she was going to the restroom? Nevertheless, upon Prosecutor Nel's CROSS EXAMINATION of Oscar, Nel showed Oscar how his Affidavit stated that he DID in fact go onto the balcony to get the fans and THEN came back into his bedroom. Oscar THEN agreed with Prosecutor Nel. WHY Oscar LIED about this fact, I don't know but Oscar's LIES made his case EVEN WORSE!
Neil will now give him a tough time. The trial will take a new turn. Its time to face the harsh reality OP! So far you've only played your emotional card.. Over dramatic cries..struggling with words..soft voice! Well, no doubt, u deserve an OSCAR for your outstanding performance!
We'll have to wait and see about whether Roux is better than Nel. If Roux can stop OP going to prison, then maybe he is. If OP gets any prison sentence, then Roux will have failed completely.
Of course he shot it to see if it to feel the effects of shooting a human skull. Any man would do the same. It was a bit of fun. But what it does show is how easy he can lie. Lieing to cover up anything that makes him look bad.
This is a man who lives in a fantasy world. He shot her in a fit of rage after an argument and now is horrified by the reality of it. Poor reeva she must have been terrified if she couldn't get past him and out of the bedroom the toilet was her only escape, she probably never thought he'd actually shoot. Those bullets should be banned.
Doesn't it seem so dumb this guys apartment is so big he goes right for the bathroom first? An what robber or criminal if they want to kill you hides in a toilet room. This guys girlfriend argued with him got up to use the bathroom he was mad and just killed her plain and simple. He says she died in his arms autopsy shows her head was blown apart that's a instant kill.
Even if there was an 'intruder' and he was "shouting at Reeva to get the cops", it's interesting that he missed the part were there were no reply from Reeva whatsoever ... I call it bs. I believe he killed her on seeing her ex-bf the evening before.
As a woman is screaming loudly and frantically in a continuous scream, she is using her FEV-1 part of her FORCED EXPIRATORY VOLUME first and then FEV-2..., which is more forceful than her VITAL CAPACITY which is basically inspiratory and therefore slower and less forceful BUT requiring more active pressure or force. When the last head shot hit her, her heart will still beat for seconds to maybe minutes ( bradycardia first, then mixed hypoxic/neuronal/autonomic(parasympathetic or cholinergic part)->> brady/tachy/fibrillatory till complete ASYSTOLE) depending on the impact and extent of the bullet wound, she will have NO cognitive function left and NO inspiration (given that the Medulla Oblongata part of the midbrain is where the Respiratory Center is located with some higher neuronal connections and control in the Prosecephalon). BUT, her screaming, which is a part of her active expiratory effort or FEV-1 may continue for a second, maybe 2, maybe 1.5 depending on it's intensity or the end of her EXPIRATORY VOLUME (and not FEV). It could have been drowned in the gunshot sound because the gunshot was louder and higher pitched (esp. a 9 mm which is a small bore round but does travel through a narrower bore pistol than a .45ACP, .357 mag or a .38 special but is less loud because less gunpowder in the case and lesser grained bullet) but ALL SOUND travels at the exact same velocity if it is through the same medium (as air in this case and the air here was the same in terms of temperature, humidity and all other physical properties, I presume). That much, I can help the prosecution very scientifically and to the point with my knowledge and field of expertise, if they happen to read my post. Leave the rest to the....rest. If anybody has questions about my explanation with 1) the victim's scream or 2) gunshots, firearms or ballistics plz post and I can explain why-the mechanism; and how I suggested the answer. Legal stuff, I have no clue!! Leave it to the lawyers to fight it out. Jackson, MISSISSIPPI
18:00 he never was on the balcony, yet he didn't notice his gf standing up going to the WC while they were in the same space ... even pitch dark it's materially impossible not to notice it. ... He's done!
Nel's whole approach and specifically his line of questioning here is fucking shady. I'm surprised some of this was allowed, it seems unnecessary and inappropriate.
Thank you silentscreams1988 for pointing this out...people who like shooting guns generally have fascination with the kill aspect of it...be it in the animal hunting or human element of it...ultimately you don't take up learning to shoot a firearm unless you perhaps actually want to put it into practice!
Yeah, I kind of agree with you. However, I am from South Africa and I am genuinely afraid for my safety - so I understand carrying a gun for self-protection.
silentscreams1988 I understand that but surely you would if in similar situation check to see where your loved one is before shooting at a closed door...not knowing who or what is behind that door? It's reckless and shows a lack of real concern for the person he claims to have wanted to protect!
Yeah, you are right it is reckless. I think in a high-stress situation, it is easy to not think clearly or have clouded judgement. Also, they were in a new relationship (I think only together for 3 months) which makes this situation very sad. I felt so sorry for Reeva's mom when they showed Reeva's head injury in court earlier. Heartbreaking
My heart breaks for Reeva's parents...nobody wants to see their child like that...this must be so torturous for them all. Is it true that OP hasn't once looked either of Reeva's parents in the eye...even when he was apologising when he first took the witness stand?
Oscar didn't go on to the balcony, so he was right next to Reeva who he says slept on the balcony side of the bed, He couldn't have been more than 1 metre away from her. How could he miss her getting up?
you know what I think my lady really really likes Oscar. maybe that's just me saying that.I do after seeing today's testimony on this session 4.she comes to bat for himmmmmmm
He "can't remember" the details that no matter how hard his defense team likely tried cannot be plausible for a non guilty person. The phone call is particularly damning by telling security everything was fine. No way on earth to BS around that one. It's very clever to avoid repeated questions bringing attention to it by having no memory of the call. Yet even after the shooting and having his faux amnesia like trauma he's able to remember so many minute details of what he did. The mixture is revealing. He needs to "remember" details that he feels will help and is compelled to get them in his testimony. That drive to make sure certain parts are repeated over and over left him unable to use the standard lie of not being able to remember basically anything. So he's not just a liar, he's a foolish liar. Stupid move, very stupid move.
Honestly this judge makes me sick. Am always amazed at the decision she came to because the story of pistorious was fanciful, unreasonable, an afterthought which should've been rejected. His demeanour showed guilt and shame. Pistorious IS A SOCIAL MENACE.
I really feel that the Judge is not really on top of the case and letting the defense & prosecution carry on or harp on for far too long. Yes i realise its a game of prosecution to trip Oscar & the job of Roux to cloud and obscure the truth. I just feel that Her Lady should take a measure of control & she is not quite being the judge :(
I live in north America, Canada, and we certainly don't allow people to take guns on walking trails to shoot at animals, let alone using black talon ammo/guns on an animal. He's bullsh**ting on this comment.
You can see that Oscar has been thoroughly coached for cross. 'I can't recall', I'm not sure', 'as best I remember' all statements designed to leave little room for impeachment. Fortunately it does hurt the credibility of his version and Nel is doing a good job so far of picking apart Oscar's reconstructed version of events.
I can't believe he would gun someone down behind a door and be just feet away from Reeva supposedly lying in his bed? It's human nature to ALERT people in the house if you feel threatened. Such a load of crap, It simply does not make sense. If someone had hurt him, he was leaving Reeva there to fend for herself then? hmmm, great guy, Lock him up!
When is the apparent " what have you done , don't challenge me??" I can't find it anywhere ... Would love to hear it though ... Can't seem to find anything about it other than the comment written below that has 17likes .. Though the news/reporters haven't picked up on it
Mr Nel showing the picture of Reeva's head was to take him out of his comfort zone. Away from all the rehearsed crap he's been practicing and trying to serve up to the court.
If he was in fact not on the balcony, then he would most certainly have heard Reeva get up and go to the bathroom. It's not even like he could say she was on the opposite side where she could slide off and walk down. She was on the side of the window, where he now was, so would have to get up and walk around just behind him. Too. Many. Holes.
why did Oscar not look for Reeva before looking for the apparent burglar- Reeva often stayed at Oscars house and will have used the bathroom. Therefore why was it such a matter of fact for Oscar that it was a burglar in the toilet and not Reeva?
I think she shouldn't have bothered with a younger man, as they tend to have more testosterone which makes them more aggressive and irrational. He's still into zombies.
Good golly - I have NEVER EVER seen anyone in he dock being treated with such kid gloves EVER. If anyone from the "normal" folk was accused of something like that there is no way they'd give a frack for all that whining!
Bad Runner can't answer questions, he's just able to memorise lines and then whine them out. He probably wishes he could shoot Nel silent. Unfortunately they frisked him when he arrived at court... poor Oscar, life's so unfair, there, there, Roux'll kiss it better.
LOL mister Nell caught out again trying to mix and confuse evidence. first he says he's reading from the affidavit then he quickly swaps to his questioning of another witness making out like it was oscar who put that in his affidavit but good ol roux catches him out. gotta be quicker than that nelly boy! and now he's trying to say that oscar heard the noise in the bathroom from the balcony but reads the affidavit that contradicts what nell is trying to say. it says that oscar comes in closes the curtains blinds and doors then hears the noise, not he hears the noise before coming inside. at this point it sounds like he's trying to confuse the judge because his case is falling apart.
Hahaha I love it, OP put Nell in his place. I cannot see how the prosecution can recover the case in time before the defense expert witnesses take to the stand
why did she close the door? in a house with somebody you know, love? just give up, Oscar, save you've left of being a man, and the respect of the woman who died.
Why would the bathroom door be locked in the first place with just the two of them and in the middle of the night. If she got up to use the bathroom she wouldn't lock it she did so because she was she was trying to keep him away from her.
Im confused now. When Oscar was running caring Reeva's body down the stairs was he running with shoes on or was he just wearing socks???? Someone help me please!!!
david sangale How did he manage to run without slipping or even falling because the floor looks very slippery?? Just a thought... I mean running on a tiled floor with socks is very hard, and there was no sign of him struggling, not even a little bit!!!!
Just wonder why Nel is labouring the balcony thing. Could it be to prove that OP can balance on his stumps? and that shots and cricket bat was used when on stumps so there could not be a 5 min delay between gunshots and bat sounds as he claimed taking time to put on stumps. Cops say bat marks made when on stumps
No, it's to highlight inconsistencies between his original statement in his bail application and what he's saying now. If he can show that Oscar's story has changed substantially, then one can infer whether or not he is lying.
I personally think that OP did kill Reeva intentionally in a fit of rage, like a crime of passion but not premeditated. No excuse, either way. But that still does not take away his right to defend himself. Where 50 caliber is concerned, I own a Desert Eagle .50AE gas operated Pistol and a Smith & Wesson .500 Magnum Revolver, hollow point bullets, both 50 caliber ammunition. Even a .50BMG Rifle which I have never fired is a 50 caliber round. It is a very destructive caliber with tremendous muzzle velocity and muzzle energy retaining most of the same even at 200 yards and this caliber is not a reasonable self defense round here in the United States. Neither is a .44 Rem Mag. As far as Black Talon ammo goes, it is illegal in the U.S. although other hollow point ammo is allowed. That's because this particular bullet is not deep penetrating but actually a "zombie stopper", it drills a wide hole and almost explodes a few inches after penetrating the target. If a human is shot anywhere in the body, not just the head or trunk but even the limbs, he will most likely die before help arrives. Even a 9mm Black Talon is deadly and should never be used in self defense on a human but only at practice targets and wild animals.
Discribes the 2 fans into minute detail down to the metal they are made of ... then, Mr Pistorius was there a duvet on the bed ... i don't know, i don't recall ... what an idiot
_zombie redirect_ something I never thought I would watch. I have said similar statements also about zombies. It is a part of current popular culture. (ಠ_ಠ)
Nel is prattling on about the fans, and time wasting the answer has been given over and over and if anybody is not listening its him... stumbling stuttering old fool..
Nope Oscar is not answering the questions that is why Advocate Nel keeps repeating. He is lieing his answers are rehearsed and designed to actually just give information but not answer, he has had 1 year to practice with his lawyers in his uncles mansion.
I agree ! Both the defence and the prosecution suck like toothless hookers. Nel whatshiname shouldn't have been dramatic -that's Roux's job- but pointed out the wholes in Bad Runner's story. No offense intended but are all lawyers in SA that pathetic or did they just choose the worst possible ones ?
Beirut27 Nel successfully prosecuted the head of Interpol on corruption charges. So when you say he is a 'pathetic' lawyer, did you take that track record into account?
Oh come on! Roux for the defence has been extraordinary, from securing bail to undermining state witnesses in cross examination. Nel provided a thorough case for the state, despite massive police cock ups. IMO Nel's only big mistake so far in his prosecution was in trying to break Pistorius down by callously forcing him to look at a gory photo of Reeva, which I think even he regretted. It is a small victory to show that Pistorius said he went 'onto' the balcony, when in fact he didn't (if that part of his sworn statement is totally misleading, what else is? Or is it the case that in South Africa 'onto' has a more general meaning?) The reason the defence might want to give the impression that Pistorius went fully out 'onto' the balcony when moving the fans is to create as much distance as possible between him and Reeva, to give a credible reason why Pistorius neither heard or saw her going to the bathroom (even though he then clearly heard the 'terrifying' sound of the bathroom window sliding open). If it was pitch dark and Reeva went to the bathroom with her phone, surely she'd have used it to light her way, or else stumbled a little bit in the dark? Either way, in the dark in the dead of night, how did Pistorius - so sensitive to light that he was covering up a small led light, not notice Reeva getting out of bed? According to the defence's version, as far as I can tell, Reeva must have walked silently to the bathroom in the pitch darkness, despite the fact that Pistorius was awake, moving fans/covering an led light. Why then, if she was consciously trying to be quiet, would she then noisily open the bathroom window? Why would Reeva wait silently in the bathroom while Pistorius shouted and screamed for help, without answering? Why then slam the bathroom door shut, whilst still not responding to Pistorius' frantic and terrified screams? Although I believe Pistorius' anguish in court is totally genuine, his story really stretches credibility. I could believe that he heard a noise and in terror, without thinking, certain that it was a burglar, dashed into the bathroom and fired - that would kind of make sense. But the idea that he was screaming his head off in terror for some time, and his lover Reeva just ignored it - that makes zero sense. She was an outgoing TV celebrity - hardly a shrinking violet. Also, Pistorius claims to have been aiming his gun at the toilet door for a while before shooting, suggesting that Reeva had ample time to call security or police in response to Pistorius shouting out to her to do so. Also, whilst ranting, If whacking a toilet door with a cricket bat sounds just like a gun being fired, then Reeva slamming the bathroom door might also have sounded just like gunshot (accounting for variations in what ear witnesses heard.
***** I'm saying that playing the dramatic and emotional card is a gross strategic mistake : he has a strong case, Bad Runner's testimony is full of holes and contradictions, let him whine away and Roux badger witnesses and STICK TO FACTS !
***** You can't really assess a prosecutor's ability in terms of winning cases, as prosecutions usually only happen when there is ample evidence to prove the accusations. That is why most prosecutions are successful and in reality, the average law student could win most of them.
