Everytime a woman wears a tux, it's a fail. The only exception was Marlena Dietrich. It has to do with tailoring. Christian Siriano knows how to tailor and that is why the tux-gown is stunning. However, Billy Porters looked ridiculous because it comes off as a costume without a show.

I think its a bit too Puritanical, there isn't much playful there. I think that might be a problem people have with it, its like something out of Nathaniel Hawthorne. It is dark and moody, but people take the Oscars too seriously, so it fits the mood. Christian dressed Octavia Spencer and Danielle MacDonald too, it was a big night for him, pun unintentional.
