As a wound educator, I would be removing my jewellery before commencing and demonstrating hand hygiene. There is so much in your video that is not current practice and we collectively recommend you re-educate yourself before teaching others. Thanks.
Loved this video. Can I just ask, I know we mustn’t put “dirty forcep” back on sterile field. However, I’ve watched so many you tube videos where they do and even use that dirty forcep to fold gauze. My question is. Can we use the “dirty forcep” to help lay a dressing down such as jelonet or drain gauze as long as we are touching only the edges of the sterile dressing and as long as we are using clean forcep to pass to dirty forcep? OR in this case should we have sterile gloves on, ditch the dirty forcep after cleaning and use the sterile gloves to pick up jelonet etc to lay it on. Hope that makes sense. Hi thank you, once a forcep has been used to wipe the wound it can’t be put back to sterile field anymore. In regards to Jelonet that’s why there’s 3 forceps in there which you can use and leave on the side for later to keep it sterile so you can use it later on instead of using the “dirty forceps” which have been used to cleansed the wound, hope this helps.

So technically, once the dirty hand forcep (the forcep that cleans the wound) then that renders the forcep as contaminated and as such if you put it back on sterile field it would break the sterile field. @@plaxzyz yea so after cleansing the wound you can even throw that “dirty forceps” away already and just use the yellow thong to prep the Jelonet with the other blue thong that is left. Using sterile gloves is only applicable if you’re dealing with a complex wound, e.g.- large wound, deep, huge surgical wound, hope that helps. Simple wound dressing no need for sterile gloves. Anyone that have finished bachelors of Nursing can take NCLEX 😊 If you are a Registered Nurse overseas you can take NCLEX Australia and pass OSCE and you will be then registered here in Australia as a Nurse
@@nurseteacherkristineaustralia my first time dealing with such a thing,my father has that , twice per day I have dress it ,the doctor at our hospital said to use saline and vinegar to clean it but all that did was made things worst .
@@sammyroberts6042 oh wow, I can imagine it will just make it worse. I guess also it’s the diet look into your dads diet, and make sure keep everything aseptic and sterile when cleansing, even just the saline solution is good enough.
We are using the saline , yesterday evening when I took off the bandage to dress it , the other scrotum turned blue, he doesn't want to go to the hospital although am pleading with him to go ,it looks terrible.
Thank you for your comment Debra 😊 Technically a gloved hands is also unsterile, hence the use of thongs in doing the dressing, I’m not trying to justify the use of those watch and bangles as you know it is only a demo 😉
