Similar in size right knee, currently close 50 yrs old and finding out severe FAI narrowing of bilateral hips, Cam defromity, still have tenderness, however believe it caused severe LLD and now deformity in hip...
Stretching is very good for getting rid of the pain completely do forward and backwards lunges also straight leg kicks everyday both sides. It might hurt at first but it will get better overtime with those stretches
@@maxdog4884hi I have it too pls can u tell me where and how u removed it I live in the Netherlands btw en I love playing soccer that’s how I got it, how many weeks does it take to recover from it and does it go fully away😢
I've finally found someone with an ossicle as large as mine! Though I'd say the ossicle I have is pointier if that makes sense. I'm 38 now, and it has been a constant pain in the butt for over 25 years. Sadly, my insurance wouldn't cover having it removed, even though I have tried pretty much every other more conservative treatment. I just want this giant pointy bump gone!
@@l3adventures689 if you have an x-ray of it so we can see what something this big looks like underneath, that would be awesome. I've never been able to get mine x-rayed and I've always been curious what it would look like. All the x rays you see online don't come with a reference of what the knee looks like, so I can't mentally compare it.
Mine is even bigger. I've even hit it hard by accident a few times. Has zero effect on my everyday life and I am very athletic. Been like this 20+ years. I'm 38.
@@l3adventures689 mine is almost as big as yours, the doctor diagnosed me need surgery urgently but because it is so severe the probability of success of this procedure is 50:50 even if i succeed i will never walk again i am scared so it's been more than 20 years i endured this pain.
@@beamchannel850 dam bro i pray you get better thats way to much pain, you should do lunges front ones and back everyday and also try forward kicks these 2 stretches help alot because its such a pain reliever. An also in a gym use a leg press , it may hurt while you do these but trust me it should better your knees.
Similar to you, I’ve got it in both knees and quite active with tennis basketball and lifting at the age of 46. Dealing with no pain and the bumps are more a cosmetic nuisance if anything. Counting blessings i guess
I don't wear shorts because of this disease. Because it looks ugly. Because of that, I am also stressed. It hurts when the knee is on the ground. There is no other pain.
I have it too on my right knee. I remember when I started getting it as a kid I was maybe around 12-13 years old I’m 20 now. When I was first getting it I remember just having horrible knee pain outta no where an notice a bump forming. What I remember too in the same time I grew a bad habit of doing this funky type of run so I basically wasn’t running right and the way I was running was like pushing up against my knee so I’m pretty sure me doing that funky run was what caused me to get osgood disease
The worst pain ever when it starts to hurt.. you can't even put wight on that leg that's how bad it hurts.. I found that laying on the floor helps makes the pain go away and stretching .. But the pulsating feels so scary sometimes
If you're young there is still time to make the bump go away before it ossifies! But stretching can aggravate it and make it worse. The best way to loosen up the tight muscles that cause OS is to use a foam roller. I'm 38 and my OS ossified long ago, so I'm stuck with a bump as big as the one in the video. But my teenage nephew started developing OS during a growth spurt. His quads and hammies were extremely tight but he was able to get them loose enough to reverse his OS mostly using a foam roller; he only added light stretches after using the roller for a few weeks. Good luck with your OS!
@@Jon.A.Scholt thank you vary much brother.. Im 29 now .Hopefully i have a good fighting chance still to fight the good fight ... It just feels scary sometimes with the throbbing and different pains on different parts of the body.. But in the lords name we will make it out of this pain!
As a person that’s been doing sports all my life, I’ve had this since I was 12 and I still got it today, but I really don’t want to do any surgery to get rid of this, surely there’s other ways to cure this disease no?
Before 2 months i fall from the bike....and i suffered from this same condition i am not able to bend my leg ...whenever i try to sit down its paining a lot.. plz help me😓i am suffering from a lot of depression due to this....plz help me to get rid of this i am 22 years old...
I have it in both knees, they are pretty big lol, i didn't know anything was weird about my legs until someone told me 😂 in my 20s, how did no adult or doctor not notice this.
I've had a bump there since my Teens, doesn't hurt unless I lean on it, never learned why it's there or how to fix it. Same for the back of my hand on same side. Started listening to Barbara O'neill recently, might eventually try Castor Oil.
i am a 20 almost 21 year old female and mine is just as bit surrounded be swelling. apparently my case is somewhat rare. I need to know how you felt after! Im still so active im scared that its going to put me back
Hello, after surgery I am more active then before. No issues other then some numbness on the outside of the knee due to them cutting the nerve for the incision. But that doesn’t really bother me . Hope this helps.
Hi, I just discovered that I one has recently grown on my knee. However it it not painful. I am very active. Maybe 3-4 times a week. I just found out what the name for it is. Thanks for this video.
Hello, Hope you are better. I have them same size lump but its not centered like yours. its off center to the inside of my right knee. Still Osggod Slatters do you think?
played soccer competitively semi pro and College. I just dealt with the pain and eventually went away. 37 now... 17 years pain free but still have a massive bump
I’m scared to get surgery due to missing so much work, how long is healing process to be able to bend and full range of motion? I can almost guarantee the VA for do the surgery for me.
I can understand your concern for losing time at work. I guess it really depends on what type of job you have. I was able to come back to work within about two weeks, however my job was sitting at a desk at that time. As a veteran I wouldn’t let the VA touch my knee, lol. A sport specific orthopedic surgeon is the only way to go in my opinion.
How old are you? I'm 34 and had it since I was 12. Mines not as pointy as yours but the docs said it's the biggest they'd seen. I've always been worried about the recovery
@L3 Adventures was there pain when squatting or just everyday life? And also was it effecting your petela tendon in the knee? Sorry for the questions but it's rare to find someone who has it as bad as I seem too and actually have had the surgery.
@L3 Adventures well that's terrible news, exactly my pain too. well I'll give banded rehab a shot, but surgery is likely on the horizon. Thanks for the replies man.
Hey, I think about surgery, i got OS in both knees... how long was the revovery Time? I am a police officer and have to Look because the time i cant work
The surgery they performed on me was about 2-3 weeks. However if they cut through the tendon it will probably take longer . Thank you for your service, I am a retired police officer so I understand you only have so much vacation time the department will allow you to take.
Hey I see your bump is about as big as mine and I bet hurts as bad as mine does too. I see all of these other videos about remedies for pain but they never help. Unfortunately I’m not done growing so I cant get any kind of surgery as it would interfere with growth. So are there any tips you have that could help me out. I just went to my doctor and he told me I have multiple bone fragments around the bump area too from excessive running.
Yes do wait until you've stopped growing. I'm also a coach and have seen many of my athletes with this condition. Try Pro-Tech Athletics short sleeve knee support or a patellar tendon strap. It has worked for some of them.
I’m 31 years old I have the same bump on under my knee. It happen to me when I was 15 jumping on a trampoline worst pain in my life. It hurts when it gets cold outside or I try to get on my knees to work on my truck 🛻. I’m thinking about surgery but ok I will have to move in with my parents again till I get better ❤️🩹
Hello, thank you for reaching out. I have the same issues with my knee. Cold weather and kneeling was a major issue. If you are able to find a surgeon that doesn’t cut through the middle of the patellar tendon then the recovery isn’t to bad. My incision was on the side of the knee and the surgeon pretty much dissected the ossicle out of the tendon. Best of luck.
I’ve got the same thing in both of my knees. I’m 22 and had it since around 16. It hurts like hell when you first get it! Mines around the same size as yours but a bit wider as well. How’d the surgery go?
Hi L3 adventure i have a question, How much INR. rupees will it cost for the surgery both knees i am 19 and as compare to mine yours is peice of cake🥺 i really need surgery but am from poor family background i dont think i would acheived but please tell me?
@@johnazm2260 I’m not 18 yet I have 4 more years it’s really bad what should I do I think it’s fractured the doctor wouldn’t do any thing but prescribed me pills I could buy from the store
@@Yodeadahhgranny I’m 17 rn and I’ve had it since prob 12. I’ve seen people use like a band around their knee when playing sports but I have never used it. Look that up. Also, look up stretches or exercises to help with osgood-schlatter. Those help a lot more than you would think. I have only had it this long since I have done nothing about it. Surgery is only when it gets extreme which is rare. Don’t worry, you’ll be fine.
@@gildedbat4751 I’ve used that but I think I’ve messed it up bad when I first got it I didn’t think it was nothing because I was always injured and the doctor didn’t say it was nothing so I kinda played through the pain now I regret
When you play some sports way too much, jump a lot like basketball, volleyball, soccer like all day and every day, you would get one. I got one on my right knee and I played basketball like crazy when I was a teenager. Warming up before playing sport is really important
Yo abien tengo 13 años y no es recomendable porque nuestros huesos están creciendo estan cambiando de niño a adolescente cuando termine eso se sanara yo ya me ise ver y esa es la respuesta que me dieron
