Why would any roofer wear a harness on a single story non-steep residential roof? Especially for just an inspection. The rules are too strict. 99% of the time, nobody follows this rule in this situation. Now any 2 story roof or steep roof is a different situation. Let’s not forget, OSHA also tried to implement Covid 19 vaccine requirements for large companies during the plandemic. It got struck down, but I lost a lot of respect for them after that.
@@hamstraroofing Everything is illegal on a jobsite if you dig deep enough. Similar to being pulled over by a police officer, most of the time they don't, but if they want they can nail you with anything. There's a communist saying, "Show me the man, and I'll show you the crime." OSHA as it stands now, has no place in a free and voluntary society.
Wonderful video (entry to a series, I hope). I think most roofing company’s realize the upmost importance of fall protection but do not know how to set up a safety plan and further more implement the safe plan if they have one. I think that the biggest issue is the gap of safety gear available for the residential roofing industry to utilize. Most safety equipment are bulky, clumsy to work with and sometimes more of a hazard than the initial purpose of the safety equipment….need a video of all the different roofing safety equipment out there…

At this point we don't penalize, we just add it to our bonus system. For subs its additional pay per SQ. For in-house crews it's tied to the Project Superintendent's bonus.
These paper pushing bureaucrats, with serious faces are telling roofers they are not allowed to carry an object up a ladder. We need these people to also mandate every employee makes 200 hrs while you're at it. The longer I listen to this video the higher my internal body temperature gets.
Osha its a legalized mafia which in name of taking care of your safety will make sure you dont cary too heavy wallet. Every time somebody get hurt on the job, osha shows up and you get penalty.... somebody get hurt, osha get paid... is that make any sense??? Can you imagine a better business?
Even though the rules make no sense we have to follow them ...because we are slaves to the system and system makes money on our hard work. Thats one the reasons when you pray to the Lord : "Your kingdom come" you asking Him for better future for you and your kids. We are living in satanistic world where leaders are raping the kids and its ok, and you get penalized for not driling the hole in the roof...
