Thanks for this , downloaded it and it works fantastic on my Macbook pro 2016, I still have Virus TI2 Polar that I am selling as a part of my GAS cure .I am back where I started , DAWs , VSTs ---- so easy , no room needed , no cables, racks , power supplies, cash , wife not challenged with hard to explain hardware accumulation , everyone happy
Nice! I was a virus ti2 owner for a long time but sold it in the last year. absolutely Amazing synth, but I found that I was using it less and less and the virus vst integration stopped working on the current mac os a couple years ago :( it was time to move on. Even though the TI was superior to the A, B, C… this vst is basically all I need for that virus feel now :)
@@arcologies Yes Virus is a monster synth but it too stop integrating with the computer , so i used it as audio but less and less , i never liked how unnecessarily heavy is built , with aluminium sides that cold-burn you when touch them in winter ... bdw got tons of sound banks for this , sweet
Wow, this is a really exciting development and I think it'll be a lot of fun to play with this. Pairing those deep TI pads with some 12 bit jungle rhythms has me pretty intrigued.
This is such a great vst for that late 90s/early 2000s jungle/dnb sound for sure :) you can get some pretty unreal bass sounds out of this too… I’ll probably make some patches in the next couple weeks and post them along with a video to show them. This VST runs really, really well on my Mac… there are some patches that can spike the CPU, but most of the time it’s running smooooooth.
Thanks for the setup guide. I saw the devs say they have made a TI version but will not release it unless the TI becomes discontinued. Really wish I could get my hands on that one.
@@pyratellamarecordingstudio1062 i'd be surprised if they are actually manufacturing additional units; they are definitely still available for sale new though... so maybe they are waiting until they are officially discontinued?
I did try this oh a good while back when it was first released and was quite buggy at the time so gave up on it. But looks like they have ironed out most of the bugs so time to dive in again, Thanks arcologies
Got it running on M1 silicon Monterey and its for every one who can not find an actual cheap hardware Access Virus Synth or after spending your money on a new mac silicon ( Apple is expensive as well ) this is as close You can get on a mac to the Access Sound Also this one has got all the roms bin files so its an A & B & C Access as well ,VIPER Sadly only RUNS on PC!
I was able to load the emulation vst2 dll's and the access virus C into the VST plugins folder in the Programs folder in the C drive. The emulation runs without a problem in my LMMS DAW. As for other DAWs I don't know. But thank you very much!
This is a great plug, great idea and it's executed well. Just using 3-4% CPU (I'm using a 2018 i7 HP laptop with 16GB RAM). Weird though that there are no free patches available anywhere just to get started. There appears to be dozens of OSC types only labelled with numbers with the Virus C ROM, very confusing.
hmmmm, presets should be part of the ROM. are you not seeing them? stock virus presets are kind of well-known as being extremely usable and make great starting points to get further into sound design.
I have mine setup pretty much working perfectly except for the one thing I'm having trouble figuring out how to do. I can't seem to get the 16 channels to route correctly. At the moment I've got it working with using Abletons external instrument plugin routing to one instance of Osirus but the channels all send their audio to that one midi channel that has the Osirus on which is not workable as they are all bound to that channels volume and pan then. If I'm not mistaken it seems that the problem is that inside the Osirus plugin you can't choose the separate outs for each channel. Well at least I have it working perfectly in single mode. Absolutely amazing synth with the VirusTI Virus TI Snow Vavra and this one I'm blown away by the excellent quality of the sounds they produce.
you can output to 3 separate stereo busses, just like the virus hardware. within those busses, you can have it output to L, R, or L+R... so technically you can get 6 mono outputs. but yah, unfortunately can't get 16... maybe in a future update! :)
Trying to get my pedal(as part of my SLI keyboard) to interact with the VST. Any idea if there's a resource out there on what MIDI CC corresponds to what?
@@arcologies thanks 🙏🏼 again love that sound and thanks for this video! I haven’t been able to find the TI Rom sadly but if anything the virus c is enough for now
yah, i actually tried the vst3 a few times... the message comes up and nothing is resolved after clicking allow. are you able to use the AU version at all?
Got it working and it is awesome but...my Launchpad X sends midi (MPE?) messages everytime I press a pad which affects the Osiris controls undesirably? Anyone got an idea how to stop this happening as I can't use it this way. Gutted.
not sure if you're using ableton, but in Ableton's midi settings... you can uncheck the MPE box next to the launchpad field. you can also right click on the osiris vst box down in the ableton vst bar and deselect "Enable MPE mode", pic: i.postimg.cc/N0h9TYqh/Screenshot-2023-05-31-at-12-28-55-PM.png
I am so close, yet so far. I got Osirus to work in Ableton, but I'm missing the ROM. I tried downloading the .bin files, but they come in a ZIP archive, and my Mac says it can't read the files when I try to unzip them. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Love this video! Great plugin! Single mode works perfectly from the Virus C ROM I installed. Anyone know if the Multimode feature works? I can only get the part 1 bank sound to play in Multimode. Wonder if this feature is not available or if I'm missing something. I watched many RU-vid videos about this, and no one was running it in multimode. The big thing about the Virus hardware was the multitimbral functionality. I'm sure it would crush my CPU after a few parts were playing at once, but still want to try it if it's available somehow. LOL And ideas out there?
i actually just tested it in renoise, multimode works totally fine! click the "multi" button and you'll be able to select patches for each of the parts... then it's just a matter of sending midi to the channel that corresponds to the part you want to play.
Hello. Trying to put the bin to the plugin folder. But what is the "bin"? I got the rom or do you mean software installer? I installed the software and a no go for running it in SoNOOOOma. Failed Logic Plugin. Thanks for any help.
Thanks for the review. Can you please reply if this synth has polyphony or just one note can play for each slot? If it can be polyphonic, how to set it up? Thanks a lot.
It's a polyphonic multi-timbral synth, you can have up to 16 parts in one instance. However, it's really smooth on my M2 so I just use multiple instances of the plugin; way easier to deal with.
i have added the two files to the VST folder VST and the bin file. Cubase does not find the vst when i refresh the manager. Do i need to do anything with the BIN file as BIN files usually need turning into an image and mounting? Any help appreciated.
I could never get the VST to work, only the Audio Unit. The BIN file extension is correct though, so no worries there. Are you on a mac? You can check the FAQ here and follow the instructions to "sign the plugins manually": dsp56300.wordpress.com/faqs/#osirus-vst-au-clap-faq-access-virus-b-c
@@arcologies i used with cubese at first everything works fine - for example, I put on a loop and switch presets, for 3-4 times the sound just disappears, I stop playing and after 15 seconds it comes back again but my m1 is very fast with any programs - and here everything looks like there is an extra load on the processor
I have the VST2 working on a 12-year-old HP Elitebook. Unfortunately, the CPU is maxed out in Ableton as soon as it loads, but I am able to freeze/render some notes, so I know it's working.
I did mate and the it won't unzip "unable to expand (***).BIN is an unsupported format. Any ideas? I'm using a iMac on catalina BTW. Thanks!@@arcologies
Each part corresponds to a separate midi channel, 1-16. To trigger parts simultaneously, you’d need to send midi to the synth on the channels you want to trigger. Hope that helps!
unfortunately no, the only thing that is out there that will work with modern OS' to control the Virus line of synths is the app by Aura. You can make patches with this VST and save them as sysex patches that will work on the hardware though.
@@arcologies Thank You very much! And if someone must change the battery in his KC! I changed it on mine :D ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Do8Rj2FMXOA.html
Yah you just turn it on and then just send additional midi channels that align with the part number of the patch you want to play, should work just fine.
