In my 20 years playing runescspe, I was never able to get s firecape. Not only did you help get my first one, I also got it on my ironman with a budget setup. Great video! Thank you!❤
A big suggestion that helped me was to start praying ranged, and to always swap back to ranged after a mage attack. That way you only need to worry about swapping prayers when he does a mage attack (which has the more prominent sound effect). If you don't do that, its easy to panic and swap when you don't need to swap.
Best guide ever made hands down. You broke it down to a science bro. Nobody else pointed out the mage attack vs range attack easy diferentiating factor
I’ve already killed Jad on a couple different characters, but I still like to watch new guides when they came out. Great guide. Short and to the point. My only other tip, is to try and calm your nerves as soon as possible. My first few attempts I died because my heart was racing so much and my hands were shaking, causing me to miss prayer flicks. Just try to chill out and you’ll get it in no time.
just got my first jad kill today thanks to your method with the healers gives you a chance to get the nerves right once the healers are killed and jad isnt hitting you! Great Video
Literally almost quit because of this, too. I even got a Jad kill but died as well due to missing his last attack, so no cape (!!). The emotions were insane. Took me five or six tries over a few days to beat him and survive, but this safespot method worked. I actually ended up tagging the healers and then moving a few spaces to one side, to where they all lined up with only one attacking. Thanks for posting.
Last year I decided to try my first fire cape. I watched a lot of tutorials, but yours hit home for me. I failed so many times and eventually ran out of money to get the supplies. I gave up and didn't log back on because I was so ashamed I couldn't do the 'beginning level' of end game content. Just over a year later, I stumbled across your video again, and I'm half tempted to try it again this weekend, once I've familiarised myself with the game again. If I manage it, I know I'll only have you to thank.
Okay but genuinely. This was me haha. I ran out of money and quit the game for years!! I believe in you and if you need a bit of starting cash, I got you. If you don't like handouts I can help you with some up to date ez money making methods. I believe in you!!
@@OfficialKoodoo I practiced up this week and tried it again. Unfortunately it didn't go well; if I get past jad's healers, it's usually a bad internet connection that freezes the game for just a second so I miss a prayer flick and die. I do know I can do this, I just need to speed up the jad section to reduce the chance of lag affecting my run. Appreciate the offer, but I'm sure I can get this down, hopefully next weekend. Side note: My acc has 99str (i skilled it as i wanted it as a kid), but only 77ranged. Is this new Eclipse Atlatl weapon going to be much better than a blowpipe for me?
@@OfficialKoodoo I DID IT MAN!!! first try since last year. I just locked in on one task per jad hit, only missed one prayer flick but I stayed calm and healed up one attack at a time, and killed him. I'm finally part of the club :D Thanks for your help
I got all the way to the Healers on my first try ever but since I have one bad eye I couldn't see were the Healers where coming from and ending up dying. That Runelite pluggin that puts a box around a mob looks really helpful. Thanks for sharing.
this guide did it for me. followed the exact same tips and strategy for the healers and got my fire cape this morning as a cb 87 :D wasnt even that bad! honestly your biggest enemy throughout all of this is gonna be your own nerves but if you can keep calm then you have a secured fire cape :) good luck to everyone attempting! and to secure the fire cape make sure jad spawns in one of the corners. makes dealing with healers a breeze once you tag em
This video was immensely helpful for getting my fire cape on my first attempt!! Video is really well made, and I think you're the first person I've seen make the distinction between the SOUND for the animation as opposed to the animation itself. By listening for the sound, it made it all too easy. I was already paused on round 62 so I couldn't force the spawn, but I got lucky! Thank you so much!
Thank you! Jad killed me fast this morning- totally nerves! Love the spawn tip and the flick practice. I found that watching along with you and flicking, I had increasing nerves. Gonna keep practicing, then at it agai. 🤞. Appreciation for the tips and encouragement
I actually got mine after watching this video, the npc highlighter helped me keep track of the healers in my peripheral vision and I lured them around the rock to deal with safely, it was honestly so smooth I feel ready to do it a second time, cheers
DOOOOD. the chinchompa method is freaking sick! i finally got my jad kill because of it. MVP suggestion my man. Also the forcing jad's spawn location using wave 3 trick is very underrated. Among all the guides i watched, not a single one mentioned either the jad force spawn or the chinchompa method. I owe it all to you.
well this was no clickbait at all, the cape was actually guaranteed with the forcing, thank you so much ma'am, i just got my first fire cape with your guide, once i pulled all the healers and killed em in the safespot jad was a piece of cake, this is a top notch guide, subscribed
Btw if anyone needs it, if you search OSRS Jad Simulator, there’s an actual mod someone created where you are just fighting jad over and over. All you can do is switch your prayers to get use to his attacks. Can’t do damage to him and there’s no healers phase on it but it’s incredibly helpful getting to practice hearing and seeing his attacks before you go into the fight. I highly recommend!
Thanks for the tip about chinchompas, it sounds really useful, and it may be a game changer for my 3rd attempt. Im a bit bummed that i've lost my first fight due to nerves(prayer miss-click), because i did get pretty close.
where have you been the past decade....? I watched this once, took in all the tips and what to look out for, followed the movement patterns, and finally got my first fire cape after trying and failing the past idk... 10 years. I can't believe it, I almost cried.
sitting here at 30 years old, never was able to kill jad. died maybe 5-6 times on my ironman. wanna know the biggest thing that helped that i never saw? tagging the healers with chins. that made a huge difference and just got my fire cape. thanks brother!
Thank you for your help. After a million and one videos and a million and two tries I got the cape. Thank you sir! Your video proved to be the sage advice I needed.
Thanks man, this video is immensely helpful and encouraging. Going in for my 6th attempt tomorrow and a bit nervous. I haven’t made an attempt in a while from discouragement but I feel more confident now after this. Cheers
Holy shit, I’m a year late but that’s the first I’ve ever heard about the wave 3 spawn thing, that’s genuinely the most valuable info I’ve ever seen from one of these 🤣
I've played this game since i was 8 years old... i'm 29 now. fire cape made me quit years ago, I was about to quit again after failing several times, but i finally got my first cape tonight thanks to your safespotting method. Thank you so much.
Got my first ever fire cape last month. Died to jad 5 times before i got it on my 6th try. To be honest the waves are super easy and so is fighting jad but the only difficult part in my opinion is pulling the healers off while making sure you pray accordingly for jad.
@officialKoodoo, Thank you very much! first try I got it. It was really helpfull the wave 3 tip and mark the healers with runelite. I got the healers around the corner, I did pot up there safely without getting hit by Jad and then when the healers are killed you simply have to change between ranged and mage prayer and done is done.
Hey man thanks so much this guide was very helpful been struggling on jad watch this video lastnight and finally got my fire cape today cheers for the help best video I’ve seen to help 👌
Got my cape today using this method after 2 attempts This is probably the safest method to deal with the healers. I also had no idea the fat boi that spawns on wave 3 shows where Jad shows up, so that also helped a ton. Ty for this guide!
your audio trick helped me. I never noticed that cause my music was always on - and finally got it on my 3rd try(after the first 2 attempts, found your video)
I watched 8 seconds and came to comment. I also quit the game because I cannot kill Jad. Maybe in the future I go back and try again because this video is good.
My 1st fire cape took me about 10 attempts, I would get nervous and my hand would start shaking and the second the healers came out it was over. Then once I realized there is no rush and I only did 1 thing between Jad attacking like eat or tag a healer I got it easy. Now I just sprint around the fire caves slaughtering everything prayer flicking using blood barrage to heal and I am usually watching a youtube video while im doing it. Practice makes perfect, every time it gets easier and easier.
Remember if anyone is having problems with taking too much damage if you have the Blowpipe you can line it up where there is a Melee left and you safe spot him and just use your special attack with the blowpipe It will heal you so you don't have to use your brews just wait for it to recharge and do it again till you're full health it will make it longer but it is safer
1st cape on 1st attempt after finding this video (was previously 0/3), shoutout Koodoo, anyone struggling would be silly not to watch this in it's entirety
thanks mate for your guide. while I was afking and waiting for my hp to restore 18hp>70hp because Im out of food on wave 58, I was watching your vid and practicing prayer flicks in my head. your guide secured me first successful kill!
i personally find it easier to spot the attack depending on the animation, since he stomps for one, and doesn't for the other. That difference helps me alot.
Even though you were fighting him, i had alot of anxiety and and my heartrate went up hella; It was the ptsd 😂 everytime ive gotten to Jad, i was so close to beating him; i dont have a mouse i have a touch screen computer and a touch pad. There were times where i misclicked either my prayers or i went up to Jad and he did melee 😅 the timing was always great until the healers would come out i tried trapping the healers behind Jad after making them agro but something dumb would ALWAYS happen to make me lose and i got discouraged because the fight caves take so long before i get to Jad. I almost got my firecape on the very first try and it was psychologically difficult for me to continue after that loss
damn man i just made it to jad on my 1 def 70 range 57 hp pure... got to jad, watched your video, and also a good tip is go to google and type in jad simulator and you can practice the prayer flicks.... but yea i got the healers tagged, i was too worried about switching a pray i flicked to range before he even attacked like a goofy and got 1 hit. i logged right before jad and watched your video like 10x lol... its just so hard not to be nervous, 1 mistake and it's all over. no room for errors lol.
I remember back in the day after being the first in our family that had all made pur accounts on classic and played off and on since to get a 99 (strength) my older brother whose favorite activity was Combat decided to complete the game's hardest challenge and go for a fire cape. He might have gotten another 99 by that point. Anyway he looked up a guide and studied Jads animations, and began his attempts. I don't recall if he made it to Jad on his first try, but when he did reach Jad he was dead before he could even turn the camera to see from what I saw. With each attempt taking around a couple of hours, even when grinding it out he only got a few attempts a day where one false move meant starting over from the beginning. After like a week, he decided he was going to put his plans for obtaining that elusive cape on hold (he never did get it. He ruined his life one injection at a time well before he got the chance to quit over EoC). After watching his tips, I read some guides. Despite combat being my least favorite part of the game, I did level it occasionally to help me complete quests, as well as collect my own dragon bones if I could get a spot at blue dragons, and occasionally even try my luck at metal dragons (same older brother got Dragon Legs from a bronze dragon kill on his first trip day 1 which he traded for a party hat, but sold it, I think so he could get bandos armor when GWD was new, making the same blunder as the person who traded him the hat for the dragon legs when he should have just waited as no one will remember the people who had these armor pieces first, especially after the price quickly crashes). Well, after all of my brother's attempts I decided I was going to do it. I read guides and watched a ton of videos and even practiced with my prayers along to s video like you suggested. About half an hour I got bored and logged. Didn't play for s good while because I would remember I needed to finish a ton more ways an d attempt Jad before I could do anything else until one day I just said screw it, forfeited the caves, and never went back. The idea of paying someone else to get the cape for me did occur, but the stat bonus wasn't worth well over $100 and risking a permaban.
3:24 Pro tip - They have a jad simulator online where you can practice your prayer flicks. This is an amazing guide just wanted to throw in my two cents.
Easier way to sus his attacks are his postering, if he lifts his front two legs with no smash its magic attack. If he quickly lifts legs and smashes down its a range attack, just incase anyone struggles with audio sensory issues, and it throws you off listening to sound cues .
I beat jad as a challenge to myself on my 75 ranged 60 defense char, died probably 5-10 times on jad, now I’ve beaten him multiple times on task without dying. Jad is easy to beat, human nerves are hard to beat lol
@@OfficialKoodoo yup, what made me realise it’s never going to be impossible was the boys who did like 3 cb fire cape… if that’s possible, anything is lol
Great guide and simple! Ive played since rs2 came out, then casually before eoc (mostly played wow at the time) and casually now in osrs bc am adult and job 😅 never got my fire cape. About to send it right now, will update after run!
Gear/inv set up. I went blowpipe amethyst darts, verac helm, dhide fury for my setup. But I learned you could do more with less depending on your play so
@@johnringelspaugh9718 moms cc lmao. Yeah I did this run in massively budget gear (Addy darts etc) just to show its possible. This vid assumes a basic jad/fight caves knowledge, but I can see how that could have been of value in this vid. Thank you!
Hey quick question (I hope you are able to respond to me), but what ranged/defence level should I reach before heading to Jad? (Also, what's a good armor setup for Jad?)
heyo! I am indeed able to respond :) first time fight caves ranged lvl should AT LEAST be high enough for blowpipe. def should be high enough to wear full God dhide. hypothetically you can do it at 1 range and def. in fact I've done that on a pure acc before. but for you to be comfy those are the lvls I recommend. glgl!
@@OfficialKoodooWOW! I didn’t catch this message at all. I thought my message never sent. Thank you so much! I just bought the blowpipe. I’m now rewatching your video and I’m going to fight Jad in a bit. Will update when I get my firecape!
lol i did jad in leagues and found the flicking a lot easier than i expected. when flicking along to your example fight i was getting scared it seemed _way_ faster than I thought. Until I remembered im on 1.5x 😅
another way to tell which attack is coming is, for mage he rears up and opens his mouth wide and ranged he rears up and slams his front feet on the ground.
