its day 1 so it isn't very clear what the most efficient strats are, but from what i've seen:
demonbane weapons reduce their defence to 0, so bringing blowpipe if you dont have the demonbane bow is definitely ranged bis, and i believe its also superior to shadow.
it is possible to kill them taking 0 damage, but its a 50/50 as if they start with melee, once they spec, you wont be able to know if they're attacking with magic o ranged. other than that, you shouldn't be taking any more damage during the entire kill.
they seem to be bugged, as you can be attacked by more than one at a time even tho its not multi combat. i'd recommend staying in melee range to avoid that, is if you're standing more than 1 tile apart from them without attacking, you could be attacked by other demons.
Saradomin godsword is definitely the way to go. if perfect, it should be possible to do trips with only prayer pots, that is a very hard thing to do, but you could also camp lightbearer and that should be enough even if you make mistakes from time to time.
