@HUXWRX OSS HX-QD 556 on a 10.3" AR15. Found it had no effect on ejection pattern and no gas to my face with limited use. But.... does not suppress enough for my liking. Especially not in a enclosed space. Can not recommend.
Thank you for an honest review! I bought one for my Tavor X95 because the MAC channel and others said it was the best when it first came out. BS! I had my SilencerCo Specwar 5.56 on it before and it sounded great. I had a left handed friend try the X95 with my Specwar and I think he got some gas from the ejection port side. I decided to get the Manticore Arms gasketed port cover and the OSS HX-QD 5.56. For me, a big disappointment when I heard the difference. I’ve got the HX-QD 7.62 on my binary PTR 51P sbr and it’s necessary to not destroy the gun, but it’s a flamethrower! Glad SilencerCo is making the Velos LBP 5.56 and 7.62 now. The modified baffles as I call them have the same ultra low back pressure as Flow Through, while having less flash and being quieter. I don’t want to be stuck with paperweights as expensive as they were, so they’re staying on those hosts. Curious about the Flow 556K model as well. I have a Velos lbp 5.56 pending for my V53 .223 sbr and it has less back pressure than a 30 caliber suppressor. It’s a little louder than my Saker K 5.56 though.
Damn, to bad you weren't waiting at my work, lol. We'd jail break it and go test shoot it while waiting. Thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated with your experience. I honestly hope it's only just that model.
I feel the same way with the new flow 556 k. It is loud. It pisses me off how pewscience rated this super high and rugged razor 556 being so low. Flow 556 is supposed to be really quiet with very lbp. It has very lbp, but it’s not quieter than my razor556. I should’ve bought the Velos instead.
Ah, man, I had higher hopes for the Flow model. Especially the new full size one just released. Still have not tried the Flow or Ventum yet, though, for a personal opinion. Have tried the Velos. Loved that thing!
The primary advantage is gas blowback...I think a lot of folks who suppress value gas blowback over noise mitigation as long as the noise mitigation is decent which it is with the Ventum. It's not for someone primarily interested in sound mitigation though.
@@Keep_It_Loaded This type of flow-through doesn't adapt well to a variety of muzzle pressures. The channels simply have too much resistance for 300 subs, which are more like pistol ammo. HXQD556 really does do a category better on your ear than something like SOCOM556-RC2 while having no significant back pressure. But I guess due to it venting immediately in the front, if you're in a car and the muzzle is not out the window, the total from both ends would be pretty loud. A baffled can would have been more pressurized so that should keep the muzzle end a bit quieter but that's more backpressure and louder at the ear(if similar in size/weight) I tried a Sandman K with 5.56 cap on 10.3, but still holy backpressure! Not even a dedicated 5.56 can, but still turned an almost perfectly gassed MK18 into ejecting at ~1:30. Extra power spring, H2, or H3 doesn't really matter as soon as the can is attached. I'm not tuning anything to not run unsuppressed so this is the very few good choices. I would say HX-QD556Ti is better since you can save 4oz for the same-sized can that still has the same steel core for durability. The 30cal version really helps guns like AKs, Galil ACE, X95, SCAR, AR10. It's not something I'd consider for 300aac.
@@JohnZ556 I found this model to be louder then every 5.56 can and even some 30cal cans that I've ever tried on 5.56 firearms. With that, what this can does better is irrelevant cause if you take it off you get the same results just a bit louder. Maybe..... the Flow or Ventum would be profitable. But hell no! This model IMO is a waste of money.
