Exactly good brother brings back good memories of when life was simplistic the movie is a definative classic but for a 12 year old at the time it was of my favorites along with quite a few movies that came out around that time like Real Genius with Val Kilmer it had a dope soundtrack too including the hit song by Tears for Fears"Everybody want to rule the World "
I don't care what the critics say, this movie will always be a cult classic and I really think it wasn't given the credit it deserved. This movie wasn't as bad as it was made to be.
@@angc1456 That's the best way to sum up. As the wise words of Marty McFly: "Guess you're not ready for that yet, but your kids are going to love it". Howard the Duck film has not been given a chance back in the day, but over time lot of people realize how great the film is and how it's ahead of its time. I didn't grew up back in the 80's when this film first came out. But after I watch this film, I love it and it's one of my all time favorite films. I never understand the hate behind it.
This movie gets such a bad rap. I loved it as a kid & still as an adult. An utterly stupid movie for sure but SO MUCH fun, lol. Definitely underrated! Plus, bonus points for the movie since Lea Thompson's in it & is as cute & charming as she possibly can be!
Damn right she was hot as hell i always thought so since i saw this movie in theaters when i was 4 and fell for her even in Back to the Future/Red Dawn, i even thought that topless duck chick was hot too. Did you liked his cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy? he is a Marvel comic character since the 70s. And wouldn't a Marvel Studio HTD film be cool with Emma Watson as Beverly and Ringmaster as the villian?
***** - You have EXCELLENT taste in women! I actually haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy. However, I did hear that good 'ole Howard made a cameo during the end credits? Or was it at the very end of the movie? I'd see a Marvel Studio version of HTD, lol. Emma Watson, eh? I could see that! Good choice for the villain too!
als92380 Well Howard did appeared after the end credits as a stinger and a possiblity of him having a new movie in the MCU, It can be Deadpool-esque in some way even with the humor and all. Thanks man i dug Lea Thompson when i was a kid and also that duck chick as well. Howard was a lucky duck to score with her eh?
@@nessadvantage9447 Lea Thompson was trained to play guitar and sing for the movie, along with the other ladies Holly Robinson, Dominique Davalos and Liz Sagal whom is the sister of Katy Sagal. 🤗🎸👩🎤🎵

This brings back so many good memories of my childhood in the 80's. I'm 42 years old, but I heard this song for the first time when I was maybe 9-10. Every time I hear this song it reminds me of all the great movies from the 80's like Howard The Duck, Short Circuit, Big Trouble In Little China, Police Academy, Mannequin, Revenge of the Nerds, The Color Purple, My Bodyguard, Heartbreak Ridge, Beverly Hills Cop, Trading Places, etc. Man I miss the 80's. Its my 2nd favorite era since I was born right behind the 70's which was the greatest era ever.
Like yourself I grew up in the 80's and I'm 46.Yes,I'd seen this movie as a kid..But TODAY was my first time really hearing this song....its been on repeat ALL day😎🤙🏾😎🤙🏾
Love what u say.... we were born too late.....the 80s...this song brings memories of happy nights with family when parents were busy with life. How I miss those days 😢
He's a Marvel Comics character made as a comic series and magazine series before his movie in 1986 as in the late 70s and early 80s Steve Gerber created Howard the Duck comics and they were adult comics that weren't for kids and were smart unique satires. He now made a comeback in Guardians of the Galaxy at the end and now has comic books that are great now even re-issues of graphic novels of the original Howard comics and i'd love to see Netflix/Marvel Studios to do a TV show like Son of Zorn meets Deadpool in a comedy-satire-adventure show. Today we can accept a talking raccoon with a gun who has a talking tree ent for a friend and we can be ready for a Duck again. Then have shorts before the show with Rocket/Howard/Groot/Cosmos the dog so audiences can get to know the REAL Howard The Duck (the Marvel comic version).
+Johnlindsey289 I agree with you, that needs to happen. Howard should get his own TV series on Netflix and a new movie. People accepts a talking raccoon and talking tree ent, why not a duck as well? Howard the Duck is my favorite Marvel character ever. I even love the Howard the Duck film as well.
My guilty pleasure this movie, a few scenes I thought were creepy but the music score by the late John Barry made this movie sound epic and Lea Thompson's singing especially this song was really great.
I find it hypocritical that people are disturbed by Howard and Beverly’s relationship, but are ok with Roger and Jessica Rabbit’s relationship and Planet of the Apes as a whole.
I think Lea Thompson could've had a singing career in the 80s. She sounds pretty good on this song. I didn't know she was actually singing til I read it a year ago.
+ccassandra9 Me too. Very soothing. And Lea has an iicredible voice. Also love like Thomas Dolby's original. Even though his voice isn't as strong as Lea's, his earlier recording as an AWESOME harmonica solo by Stevie Wonder!
I am 38 and this is my favorite movie ever. I actually watched it last night on DVD. Howard rules...... The cosmos countless world's upon worlds. World's without end. In these galaxies every possible reality exist. And what is reality on any one world is mere fantasy in all others. Here all is real and all is illusion. What is what was and what will be start here with the words.....In the beginning there was Howard The Duck.
I don't know why you're not talking to me I don't know what went wrong Two people who had so much together Really ought to get along - yeah But something started to change inside of you And right out of the blue Two friends with such a lot to give I don't know where you are Or what you're going through What are we trying to prove? Cause when this world's too big to take on your Shoulders Feels like love is in vain You could break down in my arms babe But it really hurts when you turn away And I can take the look you give me, believe me, cause I know you are in pain I can take the names you call me But I can't stand when you turn away Don't turn away Cause I can feel you all around me But you keep me here in the dark And each time we try to settle down Something seems to keep us apart, don't it baby? You and me, we're on the outside Pretending we don't care Too proud to show our feelings, To open up the love you know we could share when I will always be there Cause when this world's too big to take on your Shoulders Feels like love is in vain You could break down in my arms babe But it really hurts when you turn away And I can take the look you give me, believe me
This song has been going on in the back of my mind off and on for the last few years and I had no idea where I heard it or what the name of the song was. I thought it might have been performed by a band at the Bronze in Buffy the Vampire Slayer but I was never sure. On a whim I decided to watch Howard the Duck and there it was! Now that I know what a cool 80s song this turned out to be I feel at odds with the idea that it should have been some late 90s tune.
omg!!! me too! i was trying to find out what this song was/where i heard it...it finally came back...crazy....love this song! im such an 80s freak...so nostalgic
"Sugar Water" by Cibo Matto was played in Buffy - try listening to that here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yo1yTf2sNGI.html - very memorable!
I waited in a very long line of Back to the Future fans to ask Lea Thompson one question: Will there be a Cherry Bomb reunion? Then the panel ran out of time before I could get a turn at the mic...
I'm from Russia, now I'm 39, I watched the movie in my early childhood and did not understand a word of what Lee Thompson sings, but nevertheless, the film and the song were remembered and remained somewhere in the folder of pleasant memories, there is some magic in the cinema of the 80s.
I was 9 when I saw this, I haven't seen it since. The movie's great, don't care what ya say, but I'm addicted to this song almost annoyingly so. Such a shame Lea didn't do more music or film for that matter. Quite a beautiful woman!!
