@@longhornlestersI wonder if those Emus are capable of this? They do have big feet too. Oh Lord, Tat is red. I'm glad you're keeping him away from the girls. His maturity is about a year too early. So glad none of the babies were injured.
I feel so incredibly proud ♥️ you made a comment that you didn’t do your job to protect the animals. You did your job Lester ! you gave the babies the best chance of survival by making the decision to put them in a pasture with the boys. You did that. You also played a part in saving them and you should give yourself more credit.
Congratulations Carl and Tat, for protecting all the babies! So proud of you! ❤ Lester, you have always said that the birds would protect your babies and sure enough that’s what they did! I’m sure your beaming with pride as you should be! ❤
Thanks to Carl and Tat..they are GREAT protectors..they deserve a big bag of grapes and tomatoes as a reward ❤ Hope all the kitties are safe...Coyotes got all of mine...Lester don't blame yourself...you do everything you can to keep everyone safe ❤
I wonder how the Littles know the birds are the protectors? That is amazing. Coyotes hopefully learned what happened and stay out ! Some farmers leave the dead carcass out for the other coyotes to see. I love your nosey grey tree kitty 🐈⬛. Everyone is telling you what they saw- how funny except Tat or Father Carl!
They probably was not playing with it probably just kept kicking and stomping it, which made it end up over there Hey, they did their job not your fault you can’t always be there every second
I'm so so proud of Carl and Tat. This shows how amazingly protective they are for the animals. So glad that everyone is doing fine. And don't blame yourself Lester you can't stay up all night and watch the animals you need rest and sleep too. This shows the capability of the ostriches. I'm so proud of the 2 big boys.
I think Carl and Tat were not only protecting the goats and calves....but also the other dogs and Lester and Jami too..... First Indy....now Carl and Tat..... Repaying the love ❤🎉❤
Wow! Those boys were awesome. How reassuring to know they are on alert and very protective of their herd. This may send a message to other coyotes in the area. Sending much ❤️ and 🙏🏻 for safety.
Carl & Tat have brilliantly demonstrated their ability to guard and protect the smaller animals. And that is truly amazing that we all got to see and learn through your video, Lester.
Lester, I'm incredibly proud of you. Your foresight to know those ostriches would take care of the babies is amazing. I have to admit I didn't really think they would but, once again, you proved me wrong. You really know your stuff.
I'm so proud of Carl and Tat, boys you did an awesome job and thank you for being the great protectors that you are. I knew you would keep them babies safe. They was showing the babies what they did and show them what to be aware of. Carl and Tat are better than any camera could be.
Big huge congratulations and lots of hugs to Carl and Tat😇 our heros! You, Lester, are also to be congratulated. It was your idea to rescue the ostriches and let them hatch those 3 eggs. It was you and Jami who keeps the goats with the King Carl and Prince Tat at night. You have been correct about Carl all along. My 🧡 to all the babies and humans! Grapes and tomatoes for The King and Prince..and they can share some with their ostrich family too. 🧡🧡🧡
You've told us for years that the alpacas and the ostriches are fierce protectors and we have had two examples in the last week or so.... many thanks to Indie, Carl and Tat!!
My back doctor has a small farm/zoo with these two kinds of animals, and I forgot which one attacked him, but he almost died. I forgot how many bones he had broken, but it was horrific! They were use to him and loved him and he trusted them and one got mad and would of killed him if someone hadn't of pulled up at his home. He was a surgeon and he was off way over a year. Please Sir if you think it's mad don't get in there without someone around because they can turn on you.
I'm glad you put this video up. I think its what people need to see. The reality of animal life and dangers they face. Not only that it shows that your ostriches are not only there to look at but they have a job as well and this proved they did their job and did it well.
Wow! Congratulations to Carl and Tat for protecting the Littles! And Lester you have nothing to apologize for, for not being there! The coyotes are like thief’s in the night and you never know when they will strike, having Carl and Tat in there is and was the best protection!🤗💖
I am so proud of Karl and Tat. What a couple of special guys. I am so happy we know now. They're not going to let anything happen to those babies. It made me so happy to hear what they did. It brought tears to my eyes with joy. And they do deserve a big bag of tomatoes and grapes. Their favorite things to eat. Love you guys. You're doing everything you can to keep those babies safe and those big birds are a great help. I'm so glad that they came to you. We didn't know back then how very special the ostriches could be. Keep up the great work lester and we're all here for you.❤❤❤❤
What an incredible video! I am so proud of Carl and Tat!!! All of us are surrounded by danger or the potential of danger every single day. You are fortunate that the ostriches were able to save the day!
I'm quite sure that an ostrich is more dangerous to a human than any coyote. Correct me if I'm wrong on that, but it's great that these ostriches can defend themselves. Any more, I don't see how a farmer can have free range chickens, but an ostrich is surely safe from most any predator. Question: Can you have free range chickens on the land with ostriches?
Team Carl & Tat!! ❤️ Thank you boys, for protecting our babies!! Well done, Lester!! You have every right to be beaming with pride!! I can’t help but think Huck is smiling, from above, in Heaven, still watching over his herd. 🙏🏻🥰
Oh I thought you were going to show the coyote. But you didn’t. Since you have all of the warnings in the beginning of the video, advised discretion, no children allowed announcement and all. Good job ostriches💪🏽 don’t underestimate the bird 💪🏽
WOW!! I'll be honest, I was hesitant to think the big birds would be able to do what was needed to be done to protect the babies. I'm so happy I've been proved wrong! I've never loved those two boys more than I do now!! What a sigh of relief it must be to know what they're capable of! You may not have protected the babies physically, but you sure did in many other ways! You made the decision to put the big birds with those less vulnerable and because of your actions and trust in those birds, the littles are alive today. So thank you for doing everything possible to protect those who depend on you 🥰
Ostrich are known to kill lions in Africa with their kicks. They are not push overs by many means. I suspect the first kick killed the coyote and then just kept kicking it that made the rest of the mess.
Wow....... the birds tat and Carl deserve a medal it does not bare thinking about how many babies may have lost or hurt......Thank you Carl and tat.....we love you xxxx
Even though I watched this video at almost 1am I was so proud of the birds I went into my daughter (21 and still awake lol) and showed her what Tat and Carl had done, she too was as surprised and proud of them as me. Thank you Lester for showing what has happened in such a tactful and respectful way. And I will again repeat that I'm sorry that I doubted you when you first got Carl because he and his beautiful family have educated me as to just how amazing ostriches are 💜
Ostrich’s are teaching us so many things!! It is Amazing what we’ve been blessed to learn about as we walked these New Horizons with You Lester! Thank You for sharing Your life with all of us here!
Wow! I am so impressed by Carl and Tat. Thanks Lester for sharing these magnificent birds, I have learned about ostriches from you the past couple of years. You and Jamie have created some wonderful places and both of your videos have provided education as well as entertainment. I appreciate you.
I’m so proud of Carl and Tat. I will admit I worried about them being confused between a coyote predator and a dog pet. I’m so relieved. I really figured their mere presence and actions would deter any predator but boy was I wrong. Thank God for blessings by sending Carl and his resulting family to you guys. Whew is that a load off of my mind. Carl you have repaid in full any trouble you may have caused Lester during his “learning” stage ❤❤❤ and we can’t forget our other hero, Indie, who single handily ran off the coyote at ISS the other day. So proud of that girl ❤❤ Jake had it on one of his videos for those that don’t know. 👏👏
I wondered about that too, except the guard dogs are around the property all the time so they see them and know they do no harm. Coyote's may have a wild smell about them too. But those birds knew the coyote meant bad news, as soon as he started to dig under the fence. Good testament as to how well Ostrich's guard, and then kill any intruder.
So proud of Carl and Tat. They did a wonderful job protecting their home and family. I hope they hold their heads up a little higher now and they get some extra treats!
Wow! I had a feeling that someday those big birds would fully live up to their reputation. That definitely says much about how powerful they can be. Lester, you should be proud! Those boys threw that head! Think about a dog when they catch something - they shake it and throw it. I would guess that Carl and Tat were angry that anything would even consider attacking. I’m sure that that body part was flung in a “take that”! Attitude. The ostriches are amazing in sooo many ways. Y’all stay safe and have a blessed day!
Carl and Tat are true heroes. They protected those babies from impending danger. Those boys know that the goats and calves are their family, and they did everything in their power to save them. Sending much love to both of them.
Wow! Lester you always said they were protectors. Now we know just how much. We also know your original fight with Carl was indeed for your life. I'm incredibly impressed in how much you learned about these ostriches. Everyone told you Tat would never be born and again you proved the masters wrong. Great job Lester, Carl and Tat.
Way to go Carl and Tat, father and son taking care of business!! So glad they were there to protect the littles, you chose to put them in there with them so you also did your part in protecting them.😊. Glad everyone is safe. ❤
I'm so proud of Carl and Tat for keeping the babies safe. I am wondering, however, why Sadie, Fiona, and the others didn't "alert" you to the danger in the pasture. Seems that they would also have known that coyote was in the area. Just wondering..........Congrats Carl & Tat. GOOD JOB!!!
Hello Carl, this is my 1st time seeing the channel, and It is a doozy!!! I don't believe the Ostriches would pick up the head but I think they played with it like a soccer ball!!! Very Cool! Thanks for showing as much as you can w/o getting a strike!!!
What a shock you must had had when you saw all that ! I think those birds were on the coyote before he even knew it. It isn't stuck I don't think but I think Carl surprised him and got it with the first strike. I am so very proud of both of them and thankful. You did your job Lester by raising these animals together and they don't want for anything so they have formed a family unit and they love and protect each other. So did do something Lester by being the crazy man who brought home a freaking ostrich !
Wow! The boys did an amazing job. They truly are great protectors and luckily the babies have them. Natural instinct of animals always amazes me. Thanks for sharing the “ugly” of farm life.
Congratulations Carl and The big boy Tat!. But we can't forget that Ruby and Danni how they helped out as well. Thank you so very kindly Carl and Tat for doing such amazing job. You both saved all of your little blessings. Congratulations. Love y'all!
Way to go Carl and Tat! We had something similar happen on our farm…I have two rescue Brown Chinese geese…Bonnie and Clyde. A fox grabbed Bonnie by her wing tearing the flesh and muscle off of her wing exposing the main bone of her wing. Clyde decapitated the fox instantly with his beak. At first I thought the fox got him because he was covered in blood but he didn’t have a mark on him. I then found Bonnie hiding under our goats hay trough. I scooped both of them up and rushed them to the vet. They cleaned up Clyde and fixed Bonnie’s wing by using a honey wrap and gave her antibiotics. She survived and is still alive. The honey wrapped helped her skin grow quickly to cover her bone. She never grew new feathers but she can still use her wing like nothing ever happened. I was so proud of Clyde too so I know how you feel about Carl and Tat! 🥰
@@barbaraorzechowski9913 I was shocked too and had I not seen the tail end of it all I probably wouldn’t have believed it myself. I know geese mate for life and apparently they will do anything to protect their lady’s.
Congratulations Carl and Tat for being heroes to save your siblings on the farm.Need more big birds for each pastures. Keep having ostriches🙏Amazing animals ❤So glad the babies are safe
Thank God that Carl and Tat were in the enclosure with Ruby, Dani and all the other babies. They are great protectors and I am so proud of them. Good job Carl and Tat.
Coyote might not have seen the birds as a threat. They're something beyond his knowledge as one . he wasn't scared of something he smelled as a bird. The birds though saw the head as a threat , so picked it up and tossed it to a spot where it wasn't a danger to the others. CARL AND TAT ARE AWESOME !!!!
Great job Carl & Tat, hopefully mom has some of your favorite treats as a reward. I think you did a great job in showing what happened, without showing what happened.
Oh Lester, I'm so proud of Karl & Tat for protecting all of your babies. It just goes to show how well they are guarding & protecting everyone. Don't feel like you didn't do your job to protect them all, you can not be there 24/7. Not one person here, would ever blame you❤
@longhornlesters hi Lester. I have followed you for many years now. I have always admired you & Jami & how well you care for all of the animals. Unfortunately, you have no control over what predators there are out there. I'm sure you will look into what you can do now to try to eliminate these predators. Like everyone here, I'm a massive animal lover, but sometimes animals such as predators need to be eliminated despite what others may say. You have to remember your saying of "oh huck & hannah" when you get frustrated at these ignorant people who can not see that you're trying your very best to protect all of your babies. Yes, I remember those days when you used to shout oh Huck & Hannah when you were getting cross. Lol, keep doing what you are, Lester & Jami. You have my support from here in England.
Nothing to be sorry about Mr Lester. I'm so proud of your protectors. I can't imagine what could have happened if that coyote got in. Your babies are safe. Thanks Carl and Tat.
It's amazing that they protected the animals like that! Would a coyote ever try to jump the fence or would they always dig under the fence? I'm so glad that everyone is safe! Good job Carl and Tat!
Lester you can't be out there 24/7 to be the line of defense. However, you and Jami have said before something to the effect that you strive to have harmony among the animals. The protectors of your pastures recognized a threat and addressed it. Kudos to you guys for ensuring that balance among your herd. And kudos to the protectors for always being alert. I agree, there's a huge sense of pride after hearing this.
Thank you Lester for sharing the video. Truthfully, I really couldn’t tell it was decapitated. I live in the city by the beach and faced a coyote before in my backyard during daylight. We stay vigilant every time my dogs go out and do their business. They have killed one too many of our domestic animals for years now. I applaud your two heroes! Stay safe. ♥️
Amazing! The dogs didn’t alert you? Must’ve happened really fast! I so wish the boys could’ve been there for Huck 🥺 I’m really glad they take their job so seriously! God love ‘em❣️ Thank you, Carl & Tat❣️ They need extra grapes, Dad!
Wow, that’s amazing. What’s equivalent to buying a hero a steak dinner for an ostrich? Whatever it is, Carl & Tat deserve a hero’s meal! I love how they care for each other regardless of the bred. Glad all the animals are unharmed. Of course, thanks to Ruby & Dani. Did your cameras & dogs catch any of the action? I bet you & Jami are so proud & thankful !
Lester it's one thing to be told that these birds will protect your babies, but it's a whole other ball game to see proof of how well they can do it! I am so proud of Carl and Tat too! I can just imagine after what they lived through when the coyotes got Mr. Huck... Those birds were like "Oh not this time, we're on duty now!"
Ever notice how the cartoon “roadrunner” looks a whole lot like an Ostrich. Lucky for the coyote that he wasn’t. That would have made for a short cartoon 😂
My my 😢So thankful for Tat & Carl they sure did a great job saving the babies. We knew they had the ability but to witness it is definitely confirmation. Thanks to these big ostriches ❤❤ Thank you Lester for sharing this video.
It is good to see that you were right in having the boys to protect the littles. I'm proud of them and thankful they were there. It is also scary to me to see what damage they can do. Be careful around them Lester. They mean business.
So PROUD of Carl and Tat! Makes you wonder if they have scared off coyotes before. This one sure made a bad mistake! Thank God for the protection of the big birds❣️🙏
I still remember how many negative reactions you received when you brought in Carl and later the girls. Few believed they could handle this. The evidence was provided without 1 injured animal. They deserve all the respect you can imagine. And Lester after what happened with Mr. Huck told you all the babies have to be with the big birds at night, and you're right. 🍅🍅🍇🍇🧡🧡
Holy Moley Lester 😮 Bravo Tat and Carl ❤ We’ve had a lot of coyotes eating our chickens and the cameras don’t help deter them we see them in the morning on our security camera which is too late
Carl and Tat protected all the goats, Ruby and Dani. They are great HEROS. I don't think there's any other that could do this. Protectors are what they are. Thankyou Carl and Tat. Look at how proud they look. True heros of LHL. Thankyou Lester for showing this to us. That coyote looks pretty big too.
Lester, what amazes me is the way all the animals cohabit peacefully. That is directly related to the you, to the kindness, love, and impeccable care you give them. You intuitively know what's best for all your babies. The ostriches don't fight, flex, or snipe, with the other animals. It's as if they understand their role as protector. They definitely sense danger, and know their assignment. You should be so proud of all your accomplishments.🐐💫🐈
Way to go Carl & Tat ❤ Great job protecting the littles My guess is they took the head and shook it to make sure the threat was gone- that’s how it got in the other area! Great Big Birds
Or kicked it. I think this situation happened in a split second which is why Lester wouldn't have heard it happening. Great job for Lester, Carl, and Tat! They each played an integral part of this!
Lester, Words cannot express how proud and thankful we all are of King Carl and Prince Tat. They certainly are the royal protectors of the babies. Love from the UK 🤗💖💙
Great job Carl and Tat. I looked it up Lester, ostriches can kick hard enough to kill a lion. They also don't stop kicking when the predator is down so when its head came off they probably kicked over to the other pasture. You did your job by having the birds with the goats.
❤ love those boys!! Thank you Carl and Tatt!!! They are amazing creatures...and so happy they were there and so brave to do what needed to be done to protect the others around them!!
