The reason why this keyboard is popular in taiko is because of the very close together and flat keycaps, which makes moving from key to key a lot easier for 2 finger players. The scissor-switch feel is also very light to press and stuff, so it gives a lot more stamina for taiko players compared to a mechanical keyboard. It's quieter as well, which is a plus when you have to press the keys hard for a game like taiko lol.
Since I'm a poor af 17 yr old student, staying with my laptop keyboard was a thing and it has scissor switches and I play std on this thing. It's not half bad if you get used to it and I've managed to get some stamina into streaming as well, I'm gonna say it's not half bad to play osu! with this type of keyboard
Bought this keyboard because of this video, and I've for as long as I can remember tried to find a keyboard with this specific feel to it. It feels absolutely amazing to play Taiko on, and these keys are so amazing for alternating in taiko, and speed in general. 10/10 would buy again just to stack up some spare keyboards for when I've completely ruin this one with my tapping.
I used this keyboard until i got a mechanical keyboard called Ducky Shine 5 Cherry MX Brown Switch. As an all-mode player, I think this keyboard specializes in taiko mode (especially for kddk-style players) and, for accuracy, in mania mode.
This reminds me of the Logitech UltraX. The scissor switches are very stable and great for off center keypresses (they dont bind). Rebound is quick. Stroke is short to bottom out. But actuation is at the bottom out.
Jolene, you shouldn't be ashamed of making money. You're not a sellout. You're a person with wants and needs, who is capitalizing innocently. You do you. It doesn't harm us.
I actually don't get money out of these. Just a free product. I say it almost like a bad thing because it means the video is focused on a product and maybe not some other comedy video yknow?
@@tokaku I understand, but people clearly enjoy these videos. Embrace it. If you enjoy them (for one reason or another) and your viewers do, go ahead honestly.
wow I instantly regret switching to mechanical keyboard years ago. I remember grew up as taiko player only use laptop keyboard and I can do insane deathstream, but when switching to mechanical I can't do that anymore.
i haven't tried this keyboard in particular, but i have tried a scissor switches keyboard, and i agree quite a bit with your points, like good for bursts, not great for streams
a big advice of scissor switches (it is my experience) dont use it if your laptop have it because my that 2 keys start out (when i click it sometimes it out from it's location) buy a cheap keyboard or numpad (i bought a cheap numpad and i tap it more than 800.000 times (only 4 keys start made problem while tapping) )
I played mania on a noname scissors switch keyboard and it was really good, definitely not worse than cherry mx red that I'm using now. It really helps with stamina and feels awesome. Starting to think that mech keyboards are a bit overrated
I play taiko exclusively with this keyboard, it's mainly used for that mode. Mechanical for other modes. For one thing, mechanical is far too sensitive for stuff like DT in Taiko, I dare anyone to try playing multiple big dons/kats in a row in DT and you will miss 99% of the time without a keyboard like this. I tried MX red with many harder songs in Taiko and it simply doesn't work for me
Usually I skip through sponsor ads but low key, I like the idea of that proxy service lol, shame I'm never going to be in a place to afford that kind of thing, but it is cool lol
Also, I play mouse, so don't have any tablet experience, but I've watched a fair few other people and I've not seen anyone like this before so dafuq is going on with your stylus hand? Looks like you have parkinsons lol.. Why do you keep lifting it and tapping with it? You have a keyboard to tap with? I don't get it.. And why is your stylus so thick compared to most people? :S
Any membrane is good as long as you wish to train stamina. I’ll be passing 5 digit soon playing mouse and membrane keyboard. I never tried mechanical keyboard so I don’t know is it better. But after playing these time in OSU! I may say that membrane will give u a boost in playing 190/ 180 bpm streams.
membrane is fine imo, you don't need a mechanical keyboard immediately, so if you have this keyboard when switching from taiko/mania to standard it's fine.
i play with a laptop, i went to my friend's home and tried osu there on his pc which has gray switches and 144hz monitor. it's SO MUCH EASIER on his pc like really.
@@june3149 more then anything the aim was easier. That's what impressed me the most. It just seems easier to aim. And also on laptop I play with 3ms latency, on his pc he had like 0.1
after I switched to scissor keys my accuracy jumped 40% no lie. I can pass maps I wasn't able to when I was using a mechanical keyboard. Never going back!
Well many mania including myself also likes scissors switch keyboard not only are they light but they also has a low actuation point. Although I say this I usually change from time to time from mecha to scissors back and forth though getting used to it requires time. Btw bought the same drum like yours do you have to hit quite hard like I do for it to register?
I was able to play 250 bpm streams right after starting to use this keyboard, while I couldnt even play 230 bpm streams before using it. (osu!taiko) This keyboard really fits well with me, but it seems like it doesn't work well with some people.
Using that type of keyboard right now(cause I don't have enough money).I can do bursts and streams but streams are a little difficult to do if it's a death stream
Hmm…plz dont feel offended that i'm asking this but, what about razer ornata's mech membrane? I'm really curious and i'm currently looking to buy a new keyboard, which i'll be using for school and also osu. Edit: trying to keep the budget low, if there are any good full sized mech keyboard(preferably with rgb lawl) for cheap plz let me know!
What if you have a membrane but not membrane keyboard hMm (ThinkPad keyboard has the cousin of the membrane but it's not membrane at the same time...?)
Membrane keyboards are really nice for jitter clicking bc it’s less space to press but yeah these kinds of keyboards aren’t good for mania as a mechanical keyboard
i have a rubber dome keyboard , in osu!standard , it sucks for streams because of its mushiness and by the time , rubber domes wil get cut and die , yes i experienced it...
i got decent at stepmania using a laptop, ie scissor switches, so id prolly get this as a throwback, but since i already have several other kbs, i dont think i need another xD.
