Africa before Dark is a lost Oswald cartoon from 1928. It was rediscovered in 2013 and released on the Bambi Signature Edition DVD in 2017.
I really like the music in this one :)

Whoever restored it did a great job at making it look brand new, normally whenever it comes to cartoons from that era they usually have a lot of dust specks from the nitrate film and especially deteriorating parts whenever it comes to reels that's been lost for a long time.

@@oswaldtheluckyrabbitsuppor5929 Also it turns out the scene at 4:14 almost got recycled for the certain Mouse's short "Karnival Kids" from 1929 as seen on part of the storyboard, though it never made it past the storyboard phase.

@@No-hd4cg turns out the movie is LOOSELY based on a book about an actual elephant from 1860 so with that being said the scene at 5:50 is not a reference to Dumbo

@@No-hd4cg The Disney film Dumbo was based on the children's story written by Helen Aberson and illustrated by Harold Pearl. In the book the main character Jumbo Jr is ridiculed and cruelly called "Dumbo" as they thought he was "dumb". The real life Jumbo was the influence for this name choice and inspired the book and subsequently the Disney film. This is just some info about it

Why has the title card got comic sans on it? I've seen this on a few of Ozzie's shorts. I always figured the font wasn't invented until computers became a thing, but I might be wrong.
