am a mexico fan here... and oswaldo sanchez' disgusting attack is simply gross! us has owned mexico for the last 10 years practically and that's because they play to win all the way through, unlike mexico, who tries to win with as little effort as possible. am reminded of the nasty game italy did against us in worldcup 2006 as well. refs favouring higher ranked teams. it's gross.
Mexico has some great players like Marquez but, as a team, the Mexicans don't seem to be as good and have shown they can only beat the U.S. in Mexico, whereas the Americans gotten them on the world's biggest stage at the World Cup in 2002. Moreover, Mexico hasn't scored a goal on American soil in something like seven straight games. At least the U.S. managed to score the last time the team visited the Azteca.
The sequence of events that led to the 2nd goal is a perfect microcosm of Mexican football. First, you have the stupidity of the offense to knock a pass into the referee. Second, you have the lack of discipline of the defense to run wildly at Donovan. Third, you have the classless attitude to take a shot at Johnson. Unless there is a complete overhaul of the football association in Mexico, they won't see the quarterfinals of the WC ever again.
That was completely uncalled for. And it was in a friendly for cryin' out loud! Oh well, no biggie, the US will wipe the floor again with Mexico in February.
I don't think games in the 80's and farther back in history prove that your the better team *now*. The past 20 years at most would be the indicators of which team is better, and USA has dominated since the 90's.
USA has a winning record since least 1990. Not dominating in the 90's perhaps, but definitely won more than they lost. You are right though, domination didn't start till the new millennium.
I think Memo Ochoa has surpassed Oswaldo and should replace him. As to Mexico losing against the U.S.A., well the U.S. has gained the upper hand on Mexico in the past 5 years. Unfortunately beating Mexico hasn't transformed the U.S. into a top team which is what it really needs. The way the U.S. is demolished by South American and European teams is very dishearting.

That is one tournament. Remember World Cup 2002. We knocked you guys out of that tournament, and beat Portugal to advance to the next round. I guess that means WE are the better team.
I hate seeing Mexico lose, but the better team won. Clearly it wasn't a fluke as the U.S.A. has beat Mexico repeatedly over the past few years. Mexico needs to start looking for young talent, and not reallying on the older more experienced players all the time.

He is supporting you rather than insulting you. He is calling racists "pathetic." But you do have to admit, regardless of where he is from, the goalie's action would be penalized by FIFA.

Your league has been around longer than USA's, so grats on beating an infant league, be proud. That was not our choice, but the choice of a ref. Mexico would have gladly accepted the same call if they were in USA's shoes. Don't even try to pull that on us. Mexico is not the best anymore, just realize that and you will be less heartbroken when USA beats you yet again.
i was ashamed of this act from osvaldo, he's always been like that, I was recently at the mexico Vs Argentina Game in San Diego, we were all pissed because of the 4 goals, so we started to Sing Ochoa's name very loud, he got so pissed, that he started a verbal fight against the fans, he should just quit sports, he is not a good rival, doesnt know that sometimes you loose!

That's right, because Hugo Sanchez may have been the best player of the world but as being a manager he is not as good as other avaiable managers for Mexico. By the way I think Mexico is better than USA but it has a very big problem because all the players make what they want and I also think some players like Cuauhtemoc Blanco can't handle the pression of USA. But playing in Mexico, Mexico will always win. The same for USA.
