ʻotai is a drink which originated in western Polynesia and is usually made as a refreshing accompaniment to large meals. Today, the beverage is most associated with Tongan cuisine, although similar versions of 'otai were made and enjoyed in other archipelagoes, including Uvea, Samoa, Futuna, Tokelau, Tuvalu, and Niue. ''Otai' is a fruit drink which originated in Tonga and is usually made as a summertime refreshment. It is a blend of water, coconut milk, and any variety of pulped tropical fruit such as coconut, watermelon, mango, and pineapple but is almost always watermelon.
Ingredients
Watermelon - 1/2 a mini Watermelon
Coconut Milk - 1/4 cup
Sweetend Condensed Milk - 1/8 cup
Shredded Watermelon - 3 teaspoon
Soaked Chia Seeds- 3 teaspoon
Chopped Red Colour Jelly - 4 teaspoon
Shredded fresh Coconut - 2 tablespoon
Traditionally Chopped Pineapple is used for this drink. Here Strawberry Jelly is used. This Jelly was quite sour for our taste. So no Pineapple is added. One can added Pineapple, if one prefers it tangy.
