I'm a detective and my wife just died, and I'm certain it was murder. I'm doing an off the book investigation because god knows what I plan to do to the maniac when I find them. My partner tags along too with the assumption they're gonna keep me from doing something I regret. There was a symbol at the scene of the crime and I found a lead on who knows the meaning behind it. The only problem is I'd asking for help of my wife's lover who she ended it with as we began our relationship. Although I never met this other woman I knew about her many talents decide to take the chance to get answers anyway. My partner and make our way into a classy bar where she is going to perform. I inform her of the death of my wife (including that I was her husband) and she gently laughs, insisting that with her connections shes heard the news many times on loop. She gets up on stage and begins to sing, as if conversing with me through song. My partner is clueless in all this and gets the audacity to ask who this woman is. She becomes enraged and continue to sing as if continuing the conversation, calling herself a loser in the game of my wife's affection. She mentions our lives being at stake during her ballad, sending a chill down my spine. When she finishes the song with her powerful vocals, she disappears behind the stage curtains. We rush to follow her in hopes of questioning and possibly apprehending her, but like a ghost she had vanished. All we were left with was a heavy threat and more questions than answers.

Huh. Now this is an interesting take on it. I like it. Less playful energy allows for a more dramatic telling. I can totally see this in a dimly lit jazzy nightclub and I love it.

I only just got to listen to this, and it’s great! Nahu’s instrumental is great and jazzy, and your singing just makes it that much more awesome. Also the art is really nice. It sounds like a song from a detective movie (which others have pointed out, but it’s true). Overall, this is a really snazzy, swell cover.
