The machine room would be interested to see. The hoist ropes are anchored to the side of the cab, wonder if the machine is a gear-less, with the controller set to a slower FPM.
There's supposed to be plants hanging off the edge that's why there's Square rectangle shape grids on the balcony. That hotel has gone straight downhill over the last 20 years.
the reason i know this cause of the lobby sceen when Mel Brooks comes of the glass elevator after the guy witht he tin teeth kills someone. also was use in the shot going up to the PR room in the towering inferno. i would love to stay in this hotel.
The outside door chimes seem to be original. Probably the best elevators remaining in a Portman atrium hotel, especially since they modified the ones at Hyatt Regency Atlanta, the original.
