Otis Series 1 Hydraulic Monorail Elevator at Contemporary Resort, Magic Kingdom near Bay Lake, FL. 

This is the main building. MR is where the guests exit the monorail to get to the concourse. M is the queue for boarding the monorail from the resort.

The monorail elevator was installed in 1997. Prior to that you could only access monorails via the escalators. The 401 elevators were installed in 1985 and talked with a male voice and were speedy.

Why is MR locked off?

This was installed with otis lexan in 1971 and ripped out and completely replaced with series 1 in late 90s/ early 2000's

They've since increased monorail security & now direct everyone to the escalators :(.
