I use a little freeware called Hovtext, which automatically strips all formatting from text as soon as it is copied to clipboard. This saves time and labour of first pasting it into notepad and copying again to paste it somewhere else.

Another method to strip the formatting is to paste it in the windows search bar: Press windows key, CTRL+V And then just copy the text from the search bar to whenever you need.

Hi Jennifer , I followed the steps but I could not see the transcription going, thought the video was played. I also convert the file to different formats with no luck. Ok I did everything you said - I uploaded the video file clicked in the document and pressed escape - but it is not transcribing/writing anything in the document - could you please advise if you are in the position to do so- to help me figure out why it doesn't transcribe for me?

Nice idea in theory but I can't get it to work no matter what browser of file type I use. I get as far as loading in the sound file, click on the page, press Escape, the sound file starts playing - and nothing happens.

when I go to the google chrome store for the voice in voice typing, I do not see it. I only see Voice in Speech to text dictation. Is the voice in voice typing still available or do you use something else now?

There are programs out there that do this automatically. All you do is eyeball it to make sure it came out right.

Thanks - this is really helpful but I have a question. A client I am typing for has a Word Template with a table in, is there any way of typing directly into this via OTranscribe, or am I stuck cutting and pasting all the time (which of course is not practical!)? Cannot seem to find an answer anywhere. For info their template is just the initials of meeting attendees in one column, and the speech in the other column, so if you can think of a way to do this easily in OTranscribe (maybe initials in bold, and then tab across for the main speech?) I would be grateful to hear it. Thanks
