Well you've gotten the dreaded backlash, we've all been there! Here are my tips on how to get it out. If you've not seen the video on how to avoid them, check it out here: • Ott’s Garage | How To ...
Ott, for years I have been putting tension on the spool with my thumb. I'm 70 years young and have never seen anybody explain how you just showed us to fix a overrun. This is going to save time and money for all of us.🎣🐟🦌🦃
Hey Mr bailey I was doing it the same way you were hey Mr b these guys are awesome they find the most efficient ways to do everything. Hey Mr bailey God bless you and your family your pal fisherman Mike
If you have your tension dialed in and don’t want to touch it you can loosen the drag, engage the reel, pull the line not too hard and get the same result.
Thanks Ott! Gonna use this on the next one. Im usually so paranoid about line damage if its a bad one id just cut it out in case it made weak spots in my line. You just saved me a ton of money not buying more line than i needed to! Thanks for sharing buddy!!
Thank you for this great tip. I don’t get backlashes often but when I do typically they are pretty bad. I’m confident I can get them out much easier now.
Wow, where was this video when i first started. Main reason i went to braid was because of the backlashs I couldn't get out..always ended up cutting the line out of frustration...
That’s actually a pretty good tip thanks buddy. Also the way I’ve been doing it for years now is taking the line in each of my fingers of my hands and pulling them apart to separate the line then real in the slack.
Hey Mr defo outstanding thank you for the great tip I was always doing it the way you said not to do it . GOD bless you and your family your pal fisherman Mike.
As a professional backlasher myself I have found that if you're on the water if you feed the line into the water as you pull it off the reel it will never wind knot as I are reeling up app that slack line
I got the worst one I ever seen the other night. Went to cast and my crankbait hooked another rod I had standing in a vertical rod holder. Wasted all that brand new Fluorocarbon.
I knew that knob was good for something other than taking up the slop in the spool now I know , can you give us a demonstration of how that's done in a 15-20 mph wind? That's where it happens to me not in my garage.... Just kidding great tip Ott keep'em coming !
