This is another example of why DEI is a stupid idea. Hiring on the basis of ethnic origin or, I suspect, religious affiliation instead of merit leads to trouble far too often.

Advocates shouldn’t automatically play the racist card. A rookie DEI Somali officer, off duty but wearing Ottawa Police jacket, WAS observed by surveillance teams associating with known gang members.

Because they were hired under DEI basis, they likely did not actually meet the stringent standards to join the force. To think of the past stories where an officer ‘made a mistake’ during a bust, and the crooks walked. I think the police were right to do so.

Now, go check out that Renee Rogers story about how spying on employees is perfectly legal in Ontario. I would just add that it's not nearly as inflammatory is this one so it's not getting as much attention as this clickbait
