Our next stop in our Canada trip was Ottawa, the Nation's capitol. On our first day in Ottawa, we headed downtown and started our morning in the Parliament hill, admiring the Parliament's Center Block, the House Of Commons and Senate. Although the complex is going through a major - multi years renovations, it is majestic to see and interesting to visit. We then went to the : The "Parliament Immersive Experience", a multimedia show that describes the Parliament in a very impressive way. We also stopped by the War Memorial, the Château Laurier, the public gardens and headed across the Alexandra Bridge to the Canadian Museum Of History. We visited in the very impressive Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica
and had lunch in the Byward market.
On our second day, we rode our bikes along the Rideau Canal towards downtown and across the Alexandra Bridge. The Rideau Canal, a world heritage site, was a beautiful ride. While near the Ottawa River, in the downtown, we stopped for a visit in the National Gallery of Canada - with amazing art collection and one of the most beautiful structure among modern museums we ever seen.
On our last day in Ottawa, we participate in a guided tour of the House Of Commons followed by a stroll along the city's vibrant streets, while the Gay Pride week long events were taking place. We also experienced a poutine - with bunch of fancy toppings, yum.
