Yep. It's also common for at least some of the offspring to stay in that family group to help raise future litters. 🙂 That's why I sort of roll my eyes at everyone saying Tororo is destined to become a father in the near-term -- that is not how this species works. He's such a mama's boy he won't be going anywhere for awhile. On the flip-side, I wish Odashi could spend time with her prospective mate Komugi so Tororo's dad Oage won't keep getting shafted. 😕

​@@Jeni10 🍼🥛Tororo and 💛 Mocha (an otter from 이웃집수달 "Otter's Home" Korea) both grew up from birth through to adulthood with much love and attention from both otter-beings and human-beings, and they both really benefited greatly. Plus, they were born as single pups-no siblings of the same age. Well cared for, they were able to relax and sleep long hours, to later explore and take things in at their own pace, which for both of them was very quick; they both turned out to be super intelligent and caring creatures comfortable with nearly anyone. 👐

​@@turtium Now "baby" Mocha, who unlike Tororo will never have siblings, is a mother herself… one who is all too willing to leave her pups with "Grandma & Grandpa" so she can swim 😂 Can't be easy having 4 as a 1st litter. To be fair to Mocha, Otsuyu has done the same thing to Loutre-mama starting with Tororo 😁

@@Soufriere84 Yah, and as ou already fully know, Latte and Dolche were great parents needing no assistance except for the milk feedings. Mocha was lucky to start those early making it possible for her to trust her human companions from there on out. I am glad Mocha's pups are doing so well and that Mocha and Toffee get some very needed breaks thanks to the human grandparents of the pups. Yes. Is their last name Butler? or, what are their names... the humans that run Otter's Home? Thanks.

He got the opportunity to learn directly from Captain Aty on how to otter, and Tororo is very quick to understand. 😄

Yes, I can recognize him even though he is almost all grown up now. I think this is because we could watch him growing and changing and remember his reactions to every little thing. It is wonderful. He is wonderful in every way. He is one otter I will always be proud of and I hope the best for him always.

I do feel the same for Tororo.

Otters, as we know, are very observant & intelligent -- they seem to have that same sense dogs do of which humans are worthy of opening up to. Loutre-mama obviously is. Not only do her own otters adore her, so do Aty and Kotaro (who knows with ever-moody Hana lol), which means it's not just food-based loyalty. This is despite otters not being domesticated yet. 😊

Yes, I agree. He may have been a surprise birth but his presence brought two twin ottters; Aunt Odashi and Mom Otsuyu back together, and they both spoiled Tororo with love, kindness and lots of playtime. Now the three of them continue their loving family journey with the pups.

They usually don't, EXCEPT for this species and maybe one or two others that are also super social 🙂

His older sister Wasabi got the same first bath at the same age, but she cried through most of it 😅

Love definitely learned a lot from her big brother, sharing his enthusiastic spirit -- I think they were very close And yes, Tororo is DEFINITELY a mama's boy -- he went on adventures with Odashi, but he still listens to Otsuyu

I agree. Choco seems to look the most like Tororo out of the bunch Tororo himself is a nearly perfect cross between his parents -- he inherited his father Oage's bright eyes 🥰 Compare to Namida and especially Wasabi who look much more like Oage than Otsuyu

I agree. Tororo is such a lovely little otter. he is so beautiful and kind towards his siblings and his mum.
