@@sgthoskins I received mine today, its a piece of junk, does not start all, the carlink 8G+128G was working fine, but I wanted to try this product so I returned that and Purchased this garbage P3 Box and this does not work at all, I got a lemon, I will try to contact the support and see if they can figure it out, but my screen is stuck on the Ottocast welcome boot up logo after that it shuts off
For anyone interested in this device. I highly recommend it. I've had 3 different aibox's and this one is super smooth. Plus all the little issues I've had with the others I dont here.

I purchased the Ottocast OttoAibox P3 CarPlay AI Box For North America / PICASOU 2 PRO AI BOX for $319.99. I am assumong this is the P3 AI Hardware but in the PICASOU 2 Pro casing? Is this correct? Also will this have HDMI IN and HDMI OUT?

This seems like a good solution for me. My new truck has built in wired/wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. I want to use the trucks ability to use CarPlay with my phone, not the Ottocast P3. However I don’t use Android Phones, can I just use the P3 to access it’s Android Auto without an Android Phone by BT connecting to my iPhone? My interest is to be able to use the P3 for streaming apps only.
This is a powerful device with loads of streaming apps plus you can install more from the app store. To use Android Auto, you need an Android mobile to connect via BT
I have the Play2Video pro and I have a similar issue. When you’re on YT with your hotspot connected and decide to switch over to CP or AA the hotspot will disconnect and switch over to Bluetooth for CP or AA. If you want to go back and use YT you’ll have to manually reconnect to the hotspot. You have to this every time you switch between both screens.
Great review, thank you! I must be the only one using CarPlay device with a screen that is not touchscreen :( With every video I’ve watched, it feels so much easier to navigate the settings and various apps on a CP device using touchscreen.
You are right. Touchscreen is ideal for this, but you can use an air bluetooth gyro remote control in non-touchscreen cars. You should look into it: amzn.to/3R3pugg

Does the Ottocast box support usb devices (maybe through usb c splitter)? As my car does not have touch screen I could implement an usb touch monitor that overlays the car monitor. At last, is there a way to connect an external camera that I could be using it as a parking camera? Thanks
To me this device lacks a lot of features compared to Carlinkit Tbox Ambient or MMB max 5.0. No sim card calling/messages. Wifi/hotspot can't be turned at the same time, No developer option so unable to change smallest dpi for landscape apps and a few other bit. Difficult to justify the high price compared to Tbox and other 6225 variants as they can do a lot and way cheaper than this. I also found no stability issues with Carlinkit devices so the cost/benefit ratio is hard to justify. Nevertheless thanks for the good review! @Schaz. Not sayings this isn’t a great device but compared to Carlinkit Tbox ambient, and higher costs, it’s not as great. New carlinkit june update can now let you select any ratio for split more than P3, you drag the portion to anywhere on screen and you can have your own customise ratio . Also on Tbox ambient, under factory setting with a code 121212 u can choose your applications for split and it creates a shortcut on home screen so with one click you can have the apps running.
Does anyone know why when connecting the Ottocast the interface loads but the touch screen stops working and I cannot use any function of the Ottocast? my vehicle has wired carplay
I just got mine today. It does not show me the ottocast UI. Infact, it doesnt show me anything. I am currently using another ottocast box, the a2airpro, and it works fine if i reconnect it. I have 2022 toyota 4runner.

Yes, they play in full screen, except if you have a panel on the sides from your original car system. Like in my car on the left, I have a fixed panel with Time, date, AC controls that cannot be removed

Does it work with slightly older vehicles? I have a 2018 Q7 where the screen is not a touch screen? I have a Samsung S23, starting from October or November 2023, Android Auto quit working on my vehicle, but Car Play still works. I changed to a new cable, still not working. While troubleshooting for the Android Auto issue, I bumped into Ottocast. I would like to be sure before I invest in this device with the hope that Ottocast is a solution to the Android Auto nonfunction problem. Thanks!

Thats strange, I did test video files on SD card and it worked fine. Try installing a different file explorer app, or maybe the video file type is not recognised. Did you insert the sd card the right way?

having issues with my p3 and they have been trying to get me to update firmware with microsd... ... attempted so many times... no luck... can't get direct answers to my questions or a video of an update working correctly... now i'm being asked to ship it back undeclared and undervalued/underinsured to receive a upgraded model in return.. grrr
I had to do a full return for another device shipping to CN. Honestly it's a hassle if you ask me. They will reimburse me for the shipping cost but just the whole process and having to do exactly what you did made me feel uncomfortable. These companies should really have a US agent address so that returns or issues could be a better experience. That being said honestly I would rather just pay more and get it on Amazon so that if there are any issues it could be returned easier.

Im using Elitecar box and the download speeds are atrocious using hotspot when my laptop downloads way faster. Whats the download speeds on this? Can it stream 720p or 1080p using 4g without stuttering?
This devices gets good speed on both the mobile hotspot or the SIM card. You can stream high quality videos. I even watched Live TV channels via the IPTV app on this device
So I got mine and everything is working but the audio it’s putting out is super low. I have it blasting and it sounds like I have it set to low volume . Can’t seem to figure it out. Any ideas?
So the audio works fine. If anyone encounters the same issue make sure your cars regular Bluetooth audio is putting out audio as opposed to Ottocast and everything else with the display should work just fine while also in sync.
So actually the complete fix was just to ask Google to play at max volume, I couldn’t find audio settings initially but that fixed everything without any in betweens
Watch my video. You need to click on that mini menu circle and select the split screen option, then click on the app logo on top and select split screen
You can install apps on the native Android system on this Otoo P3 device, but on the CarPlay and Android Auto platforms, you will have to install the app on your mobile to have it appear on CP or AA
@@MinistryReviewsSchaz Ok, problem is there is a google play app Roon ARC that i have been using with wired android auto. Not sure if that works with wireless ottobox. Havent seen anyone tested it. Its music streaming over your local server. Works well over wired android auto.
Try to connect the additional cable to another power source, sometimes one usb connection does not give enough power to the device, thats why they have given an extra cable in the box
DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM I bought this item as it's described as compatible with any car that has Wired CarPlay. My car has wired CarPlay and this unit simply does not work. I've discussed with Ottocast at length and they are refusing to refund the item and they want to charge me a restocking fee and shipping charges to return the item, which I bought in entirely good faith in compliance with their advertised description.
All these CarPlay adapters work in most cars that support wired CarPlay except a few car brands. Its mentioned in the description of the video. It is also mentioned on the Ottocast website. Did you try it with dual power supply? In some cars, the power from one usb plug is not enough so you need to use the power extender cable that comes in the box.
