0:50 David Cronenberg on flute! Incredible performance. I clicked this my mistake looking for a performance of Church Windows but was so taken by the tone of those soloists and the color that I wound up watching it to the end. How wonderful to discover another treasure by Respighi.

I love Respighi. I hear echoes of Vivaldi in the begining of the first an last movements.

Wonderful playing, superb solos, excellent recording, I really enjoyed this. This really did justice to Respighi's fabulous score. Didn't realize social distancing could be such fun!

An mesmerizing performance of an extraordinary work. I think Ottorino would be pleased by the love and sheer perfection the players put into this.

Bravo! Wonderful music. Respighi has such great music other than the Roman Trilogy...I hope Gli Ucceli is upcoming.

Can somebody explain why this hall is almost empty dringend almost everything single concert?
@WDRKlassik
@WDRKlassik 7 месяцев назад
Hi, @masterfnh7597! This video was actually recorded in June 2020 with COVID-19 restrictions and distancing rules - allowing only about 10% of the hall’s usual audience capacity (and far less musicians onstage than we were used to). The hall was absolutely “full” - not a single person more would have been allowed in due to Germanys strict rules for concert venues at that time. Tickets couldn’t be bought, but were raffled off among the subscribers since demand was far exceeding available seats. We’re happy all this is behind us and are looking forward to two sold out concerts in this hall this weekend :)
