Probably one of the most transparent coaches ever at OU. Loves to be honest and open and an engaging personality. A far cry from stoic Riley who was more stand offish and not inclined to delve too much into the goings on. Hope Venables doesn't change that over time. He shouldn't because thats one of the key factors that brought him success.
He's a smart guy...he knows the kind of recruits he wants will do their homework and potentially watch this type of content and he's interviewing for future prospects.
Poor choice. He's a defensive man. Our offense recruits abandoned ship. We'll see an improvement on D and a decrease in QB prospects in the future unless Brent has immediate success. Time will tell.
Stacy, its sad to say, but it's starting to look like you were right all along. Except that you thought the defense would improve. I thought the same. I NEVER drank the Spencer Rattler kool-aid (Heisman front runner my @$$). All it did was make me skeptical about EVERYTHING that the OU media machine spews out. Riley was over hyped himself. If someone is honest, they'll have to admit Venables was on the downhill slide when he left OU. Now, despite never being a head coach before, he's the best choice for OU??? And moving to the SEC supposedly smart??? But now, 9 months later, time is starting to tell; and I don't like what the clock is saying. All the fans are bloviating that we need to give Venables 2-3 years. But at the time of this video, NO ONE would have believed that KSU (after losing at home to Tulane) would whoop OU at home. Much less that a week later, TCU (with a first year coach) would be substituting 2nd and 3rd team players into the third quarter, to "take it easy" on OU. It's two days before the Texas game, and I'd like to hear what you have to say now. If you get this notification.
Clemson has an awesome recruiting class still. Dabo is a good coach who will get good people around him. Clemson will be strong. Now, if you're talking about Riley jumping ship, it's akin to a guy jumping ship after he pulled the plug and bailed some water INTO the boat.
Sir, Respectfully speaking, if i am a High school Senior and me and my family Clearly understand that i can produce a Family income based on my talents of playing football. A big Red Flag Pops up when i hear you treat NIL Like its some type of Dam weekend "Lawn Mowing Money" your stance on NIL is in the minority ! Its void of Reality, its back handed, judgmental and is resentfull, You want to preach from a Sanctamonious Soap Box about NIL Being Important... In your theory any athlete and his family are branded by the University of Oklahoma with a Scarlet Letter because NIL May be very important this stance is very concerning and does not represent the views at the University of Oklahoma. Im sorry to say this Brent but if you impliment what you preach, in the end Your Gonna send Oklahoma University back to the Stone Ages ! Stop it already with the Father Flanagan Act it impresses nobody but the grandparents of some players This is not Clemson !! Nobody in Oklahoma Cares about your future culture act, Just win games, produce NFL Players. Brent your getting $7.5 million Dollars a year to win Games and National Championships, so keep your old fashioned bullshit theories in your mind ! Keep Oklahoma on the cutting edge where its been, Like Lincoln you were handed a program that is at the top you were handed a program that does not need rebuilt Oklahoma University is not suffering from a culture problem Brent ,so stop pretending that it does !
@@TEBAIL-v6o Sounds like you need a safe space. Your whining was the first clue. Maybe you should stick to something you actually know because football is way over your head. I suggest you try tennis or golf something non contact that fits your weak demeanor
Jeff, if you want college athletics to be about the money then it isn’t college sports. If that is what you want to see then sports needs to be moved out of colleges and be select teams for college age individuals that want to be in professional sports. The truth still is that most college athletes will not be pro players. I know that the young coaches may be in it for their own gain at the expense of players. That is what your program is doing when you recruit a bunch of good players for one position. Players are just a product and not really concerned about that athlete. I hear Coach Venables pointing that out. He is saying that is not what he is all about. I, as a player, coach and a fan of athletics agree with him.
@@gincain7988 Jimbo Fisher just admitted that they have been paying players for years, now it's just in the open and not hidden. Remind me what killed the SWC and what team were involved? You see a pattern now
