Captain Hook just made me cry. He loved her so much that he traded his home so that he could restore hers to her and that makes him the sweetest devilishly handsome pirate I have ever seen.
CeltycSparrow sure Jack wasn't the most romantic and all but he was like Killian in the sense that they both are good men. Jack could have let Will die and become the new Dutchman captain but he helped Will do it to save his life. Same as him saving Angelica's in the 4th movie. I find there are subtle similarities between Hook and Sparrow. The difference is Hook is motivated by love and will do anything for it including giving up his ship.
Killians .Hooker I agree with you. I love Captain Jack too and they are both good men. I think that is what I meant when i said that...that Hook is motivated by his love for Emma and Captain Jack's motives are a bit more self-serving but still honorable. They are both good men at the core though.
CeltycSparrow Jack is the reason I love pirates lol and then here comes this Hook and I'm a goner. And while I do love Jack I love Hook a bit more cause he is such a romantic and doesn't care to hide his feelings
No but think about it : Liam died on this ship. Killian became a pirate on this ship. He lost Milah, and became Captain Hook on this ship. Killian Jones, by giving up the Jolly Roger, literally put his past behind him to save Emma and bring her back to Storybrooke, to get her home. We really have to praise Colin's and Jen's acting in this scene : the way he tries to smile and tries to downplay his sacrifice, how Emma sees right through him even though she doesn't fully know what the Jolly Roger meant to Killian and what it represented, his face when she calls him by his name...qsldfkjsqsdfljkh this scene couldn't have been more perfect. All the feels.
Okay, but it also kinda represented his and Liam's freedom... They escaped slavery, and the very first thing that happened is they were offered places on *that* ship...
He smiles when he says "Why the Jolly Roger , of course!"... But it's a fake smile. He aches over that... but he doesn't want to burden her, he doesn't want her to think too much of it, he's never been one to bask in praise... he just did what he did out of love and he wants no praise over his actions... But when she does react with awe, his face tells her just how much he sacrificed for her... and how much he means to her tat he would sooner let go of the place that was his home for 300 years before letting her go. seriously, I cried like a baby with this fucking scene... Captain Hook, the cutthroat terror of the seven seas who had a Hershey Kiss for a heart, lol :)
If I could give Colin all the awards in the world, I would. There are way too many things that are just amazing about how he plays Hook but once thing that I love about him is his facial expressions. They are amazing, they have these very tiny subtleties that just make them all the more amazing and unique. When Emma called Hook by his real name, "Killian", that look on his face....it was a mix of, "Finally warming up to me, are ya love?", "Did you really just call me by real name?", and something I cannot describe as anything but true love. This scene kills meeeee.
Just researched the season - doesn't it just break you heart a little thinking about how Hook must have felt when Emma told him that she 'had a guy she loves' in New York? He had just traded away the one thing that mattered to him just to get to her and she loved someone else (though obviously she didn't remember)
@@stephanielorraine1898nah, I don’t think she did really… she had to think about his proposal after running out of the restaurant. When Hook got her a ring, and then she found it, she told him her answer would be “yes” and to ask her. She said yes to Hook TWICE without hesitating!
The aspect if this scene I love most is they are completely unshielded. Anyone coming and going around Granny's could see them and Emma does not care. The diner was full of people they are close with since it is the night baby Charmings name was announced. Now, that's finally letting all your walls down.
You mean, how the baby is named Neal Nolan... did you see Rumple's reaction? This is too weird, but I hope Rumple will be gentle with this one, as he was with Henry now... Uncle, Rumple's son-in-law (kinda) well, Henry's Uncles name is Neal.Have fun, Emma... your lil brothers name is Neal. That's gonna take alot of getting used to.
I also think that she just can't know how many and many adventures/important memories etc. was in this ship (that has a meaning for him), but she feels it and this is just 💔❤️
I dunno if you guys have noticed that before but at the end of the scene we see hook kissing Emma, not emma kissing hook!! And that's so perfect because that shows that he's finally sure about her feelings :')
pretty much. he always, always lets her make the first move and call the shots. And when she teased him with that partial kiss and then her smile, it was her way of giving him a green light where he could take the innitiative... So he smiles back and he kisses her like he's wanted to for so long!!!! I.... AM.... EMOTION.
as much as i love the emotion and the fact she finally let her walls down for him.... i also love that you can see how beautifully long his lashes are when his eyes are partially or fully closed at the side angle when he's kissing her... i never really realized how long his lashes were....
I like to think of this as their moment, THE moment. The first moment Emma decides to be vulnerable with him. The moment their love was finally affirmed. The first and last moment of pure peace they share together, alone. The moment where you could tangibly tell how nothing else mattered except for the person in front of them. (Look at how Emma smiles and looks at him when she asks, "how did you do it?" We all know it wouldn't have mattered how because she already loves him.) It is also the moment that Hook and Emma, as well as all of us watching, go back to and remember with bittersweet wistfulness during all the crap they go through in season 5. You know it's true because this scene gets sadder, knowing how their future unfolds. But we still hope, because more than the crap they've been given, is all the crap they've overcome, for love. Sorry, long lonely musing over.
I love this scene because, you can see during the whole third season, Hook putting Emma's wall down piece by piece. And in this scene you see the last frontier, the last part of the wall she built going down the moment he said that he traded the jolly roger for her. That's so beautiful to see... and the kiss is so intimate and loving, passionate...
this scene is hands down one of the best emma swan scenes. it’s the moment where she realises that there is someone out there who cares enough about her to put her needs before his own and before something he clearly cares so deeply about. this was such a huge turning point and deserves more attention!!
he's waited over a year for that moment and that kiss. Being a pirate and spending all year turning down bar wenches even when he thinks he'll never be able to see her again, definitely true love! She now knows he gave up his ship for her, will she ever discover that he could never be with anyone else, even when he thought they would never see each other again?
I love 2:02 - He pauses to look at her, to take in her gorgeous face and when he pulls away she's still in the moment for a millisecond before she herself looks up and in one glance you get 1. 'Oi why'd you stop kissing me' 2. 'I was enjoying that' and 3. 'Oh no, is something wrong?' and then when they both know it's all alright they pick up right where they left off. Chemistry off the fricking charts.
@@caitlinbaksh1331 - you can see charming reacting to Emma kissing Hook in season 5 ep 2 after she brings Robin Hood back to life. He looks somewhat shocked and puzzled.
Only every time i watch this scene. In the s4 opener snow knows something is going on with them when she makes the comment about Henry seeing both of his "moms with new men". But we dont know whether its because she saw them making out through the window or whether its because Emma talked to Snow afterward. I like to imagine she saw them.
can I just cry because I am not so sure there is any other possible reaction! I am a major captain swan shipper. Killian Jones and Emma Swan are kindred spirits, soul mates, the perfect match! He loves her for all that she is and she loves him for what she now knows for sure he is. Which is as he said a man of honor. The fact that he traded his ship for her says everything. He has so much history on that ship good memories bad memories but all of those memories were on the Jolly Rodger he wasn't trading his ship he was trading his past, his life, his home. And when Emma said "you traded your ship for me?" she was not saying you traded some planks and a sail she was asking if he traded the one thing that he had left out of all that he had lost. And when he said "aye" he said of course I did I don't need it any more because I have you. The Jolly Rodger may have been his entire past but he knows that Emma is his entire future so he did not need a ship to fill the missing piece of his heart that could never quite be filled because Emma is all that matters she is his Home and he (and of course Henry) is hers.
It's been over a year since this happened and I've watched it too many times to count but it somehow still makes me cry:'( I hope everyone can find a love like theirs because dang it's beautiful😍
Presented with the obvious "FINALLY" moment here, l must, of course, break down the brilliance of the writing. Rumpelstiltskin's words as it shows them kissing are not just true for him and Belle, oh no. He is DESCRIBING Emma's ENTIRE LIFE with those words. She hadn't been able to trust or truly love anyone since Neal (Walsh was a tease. If she had trusted and loved him enough, she would have said yes far sooner. Keep in mind, it had been over a decade since Neal). She had her walls up, and in my opinion, she stopped believing in love; she stopped having faith that someone could ever truly put her first...that is, until this scene. I believe her feelings for Hook started forming back in Neverland, but she denied them because she was afraid. Afraid to lose him, afraid that he was just like Neal, etc. Here, however, we see something. Emma's belief that no one would ever put her first was shattered, breaking down the majority of her walls, and letting her feelings burst forth. The rest would come with time, but I don't think she could wait. Also, I think kisses are Emma's way of saying "thank you" ...or maybe that's just with Hook. ;)
I wonder if she had never asked, would he have told her? Even when trying to get her to stay, he never mentioned that he gave up his ship to be with her. Trying to win her heart you'd think he'd want her to know just how much she means to him.
well... if he hadn't told her, to me it would have been a way of Killian being extremely humble. She would have figured it out on her own eventually, but I am glad he told her in this moment. We Captain Swan Fans deserved this entire finale because of all the torment Emma put Hook through this season. He really wasn't catching any breaks! FINALLY Hook has gotten the family and friends he has always wanted without knowing that he ever needed it.
Sarah Yackey humble yes, but he's never been quiet about his feelings for her. He's always been so direct with her about his feelings & thoughts. So it seems a bit out of character that he didn't tell her he left his home to be with her because she means more to him then anything else in the world, especially when she was planning on going back to NY. Plus, if she had moved back to NY, how would she have even found out about it on her own? It's obvious the writers wanted to wait until the last scene of the last episode this season to reveal it. I completely understand why they did it. It just might have been more with his character that he tell her directly before she was about to leave or something instead of waiting to see if she would even ask him about it.
CulbRus I figured that he never told her because he didn't want her to feel any sort of guilt or obligation toward him - after all, he wants to win her heart without any trickery.
Wasn’t sure before but this... this is the moment that sold me CaptainSwan💛 I honestly think Hook has one of the best transformations. It was subtle, he didn’t talk about it and he didn’t try to get anything out of it like Gold. He just... decided to make a very selfless decision and I don’t think he would’ve told her had she not asked. Bravo, Hook. Way to be a man.
I just had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer Morrison and even she said that this was Hook and Emma's first real kiss. So damn sweet, I hope for happy Captain Swan next season
That moment when they stop kissing and Emma smiles at him and Hook tries to muster one in return but he can’t quite cause he just can’t believe this moment is finally happening and Emma finally chose him and he just cares so much about her and is so gentle with her and strokes his fingers along her cheek 🥺🥺🥺 I can’t deal with it
This scene is epic. And thus the Captain Swan journey truly begins. Jennifer Morrison and Colin O'Donoghue continue to bring these two characters to life. Season 6's ship of OUAT will soon be casting off onto another delightful, adventurous and magical journey. I am looking forward to embarking upon that journey with them all.
layton1111 sadly no. The writers debunked that rumor. He isn't related to Hook and was forced off the plank by Hook last time we saw him in the year past. (we did see him for a brief moment with Snow in the season 3 finale) They'll prbly bring him back later tho... they always bring villains back in SOME way. I just HOPE Davy Jones is Hook's father. That would make him like pirate royalty or something! ;)
When I rewatched this season this time, I understoof that there was literally one episode, where we can understand even more better, how important is the ship for Hook 🥺🥺 And than he just traded it (home) for her 🥺
Who's watching this clip in season 7? I miss them so much and after so many seasons, I think this is my favorite scene of theirs. This is the moment I knew they were my OTP and this sacrifice that Killian made just proves how much he loves her. He traded his home to help her find hers. I still cry so much when I watch this scene #CaptainSwan
I love this scene and how at the same time rumple is saying "my walls were up you but you brought them down" and now in the latest episode hook says to dark swan "I liked you walls and I liked breaking them down." It was funny that when he said that, it reminded of this scene because I think this was the moment when she had finally realized her feelings for killian and let her guard down and I didn't even realize until watching this now that rumple had said that in the background.
omg! when watching this i shouted "FINALLY" then started squealing!!! then my sis came in who was behind in ouat and was like whaaa and i was like "umm nothing..." these two!!!!! 💖💞💗💓
everyone is talking about him trading his ship, but what about "I'd have gone after her" this is definitive proof that the love they have is timeless, and that it doesn't matter when, they will still love each other.
I’m glad they ended up together. However, I still think Graham deserved justice. Or at least to be in the Underworld with Hades or something. I wish his story hadn’t ended so suddenly.
Hook /Killian : Everything is back to normal. You're a bloody Hero Swan Emma : So are you ❤️❤️❤️ I Love THERE ships And This episode I love captain swan ❤️❤️❤️ Everyone else... 👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
I love, love, love this moment! See I was torn between Captain Swan and SwanFire even though I was a Captain Swan fan first but seeing her with Neal and the family dynamic of Emma, Henry and Neal I became completely torn but now that Neal is gone and this sounds really terrible, I can once again be a 100% Captain Swan fan first! Ya know, I've loved these two from the moment Emma put the dagger to Hook's neck. Love Gold speaking his vow on love in the back round. How fitting?
Emma: rumple said everything except our little adventure will go back to the way it was, do you think it will? Me: yup. Everything besides you and hooks relationship!!!❤️
OUAT's season 6 Captain Swan wedding. Here's to hoping that Hook and Emma get married on the Jolly Roger and sail away to some exotic place for their honeymoon. They deserve their happy ending. ♥ Captain Swan. :-)
Something I realized. Hook outrunning the curse is more badass than we realize at first. By his own admission, he had left his crew behind and sailed on alone, yet still somehow managed to handle a ship the size of the jolly roger with maybe him and smee, as I doubt many others would be willing to stay or come along. Old sailing ships like that need a crew to man the rigging for a reason. It is not easy for one man to sail it alone, much leas one with only one good hand that is trying to outrun the dark curse.
