Although this lesson is tough enough for me , I still find it interesting. In order to go through this tricky lesson, I ought to do thorough practice. Thanks to our thoughtful teacher Richard for teaching us the eight ways to pronounce the letter sequence O-U-G-H.

im a E.S.L. student in america and im in level 4, my teacher said that i know very well english and i dont need that class anymore but sometimes when im talking with my friends my pronunciation sounds so bad

O U G H has its origins in Old to Middle English and teaching it to learners of other languages makes the job of it very TOUGH indeed.

Wow! That's interesting, I didn't know "hiccup" (as I spell it) could be spelled like "hiccough". Maybe it's a Bri'ish thing?

🇮🇹 ITALIANI HERE! Help me! Ho provato a tradurre il testo che appare nell'ultima parte del video ("Well done! I thought [...]"). Qualche italiano saprebbe dirmi se la seguente traduzione può considerarsi corretta? "Ben fatto! Pensavo (Sapevo) che tu saresti stato abbastanza forte (bravo) da farti strada in questa difficoltà, sebbene [si trattasse semplicemente di] un'intera lezione senza problemi, [sei stato abbastanza forte/bravo] anche quando hai pensato che [la tua lezione] fosse sufficientemente difficile per fermare lo studente più bravo." Sembra una frase rivolta ad un insegnante principiante che ha esordito alla sua prima lezione. Mi sbaglio? Aiutatemi, please. ☺️🙏🏼

Thanks a lot. Can you teach me the vowel the words like girl, fur, word, world, and whirl because this vowel has been so painful for me to pronounce correctly. Haleem.

Thanks. Now I can pronounce the vowel, but there is another question if you can help me with. the ng sound specially when it followed by another ng sound! like in the words singing, swinging, and hanging!! I hope you can help me with that. Haleem.
