So very helpful. I can’t use silicones, sulphates, drying alcohol, and parabens so I wish Ouidad created a full line for those of us who need better quality products.

Amodimithicone is a wonderful silicone. Amodimithicone does not build on itself (like dimithicone)it actually helps fill in damage areas in our hair strands. Ouidad uses amodimithicone in all their products some are even water soluble. I am a curly girl who now understands silicones aren't all that bad. Amodimithicone can be removed with c14-16 olefin Sulfonate which is a surfactant derived from coconut and it's curly girl friendly.

@@olderbutbetterbeauty of course hun this is why we are a community we learn from each other. If you strictly follow the CGMethod then I don't recommend it. Meaning if you only cowash you should not use any type of silicones because they will cause issues but if you do use shampoos with surfactants and clarify on a regular basis you should be fine using amodimithicone. And even if you follow the CGMethod you should atleast clarify once a month because other curly girl friendly ingredients build up just like silicones. For example shea butter, oils and Polyquats cling to our hair just like silicones.
I am really loving your hair and your videos I have watched so far. My salon is Ouidad-certified and it is an ongoing battle to refuse their products that contain silicones and drying alcohols. I am currently using the Ouidad Curl Immersion Low-Lather Coconut Cleansing Conditioner as a co-wash, but when I get my hair colored at the salon (every 3-4 weeks), I bring Kinky Curly Come Clean shampoo with me to the salon for them to wash the dye out. Somebody on the CGM Facebook group said to use this shampoo, because the dye has silicone in it. The KCCC shampoo, even though it is clarifying, is supposedly gentle on hair. I also use Ouidad VitalCurl+ Balancing Rinse Conditioner, Ouidad VitalCurl+ Tress Effects® Styling Gel, and on refresh days I use Ouidad Botanical Boost Moisture Infusing and Refreshing Spray, which is the only Ouidad product that I really love. I suspect that my hair is struggling because of the dye, but I am 90% gray and letting it grow in is not something I aspire to. 😂
Thanks so much for watching! It's a challenge to find Ouidad products that are curl friendly but they do exist. For example, I really like the Climate Control Gel. I'm ready to truly grow out my gray, but I'm more like 50% grey. I admire you!
Hi. I'm struggling with my gel selection. I'm a 2b to 2c and live in very hight humidity city (lima,Peru) through all the the year. I would like a natural look without frizz and maybe the red bottled gel is too strong for my hair? Have you try the previews gel, pink an white bottle in a humid weather? My expectation on the product is to last two days
I have been a devacurl only cgm for about 5 yrs. I have attempted to use ouidad in past and always went back to DC. I just ordered the blue line to see if it works better than the climate control. I live in south texas so.. I dont think my hair is in any better shape with DC products so I am not going to stress about the non cgm friendly anymore ...
Love your videos. Question I am new to Ouidad, still trying to figure out if my curls are improving because of the rake and shake (which is a lot more product than I used previously) or if it is the product. Currently using Curl Quencher Moisturizing Gel. Did you see much difference when you switched to the Climate Control Heat & Humidity.
Thanks for your lovely comment. I see slightly more definition and crunch with Advanced Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel. I definitely have to scrunch out the crunch when I finish diffusing with ACC. I happen to buy Lanza Keratin Oil at my salon and scrunch that into my 'nearly' dry hair (my hair seems never to be fully dry) and that takes care of it. I think any oil will do or try doing it with your hands alone. I give you a lot of credit for doing the rake and shake method. It's great, but I don't quite have the patience. : )
I have tried Ouidad numerous times over the years. I have so so sooooooo hoped they would work on my hair. Nope they dry it out and make it feel like straw. Whipped curls smells so good but drys my hair out. I used the melting mask in the shower and had to use another brand of conditioner to add to it just to get it thru my hair.
I have long curly hair.....almost to my waist and have a very sensitive scalp. I wonder if you can recommend any product that is more natural but also keeps the hair hydrated. I was using matrix for a while (not natural) my hair felt great but not my scalp.
I'm so late in responding. I just didn't see your message. Many people recommend Innersense Hydrating Hair Bath for a gentle shampoo for curly hair. I used it for a while and liked it. I have quite a different problem. I have a very itchy scalp which is a chronic condition. I hope this helps.
