Merch 💖 crowdmade.com/collections/alexandriaryan Time Stamps in Description!! Hey guys! So this video is a little different than the first. There Is a lot more reading between the very fine lines as Im trying to figure out if OuiPlease ever did issue that initial refund. I don’t want to see like im complaining because at the end of the day I did get money back into my account but I do think the initial “refund” was very suspicious especially after seeing all the complaints on the BBB website regarding refunds. Let me know what you think! Love ya💖

As they paid you for a tangible item (hence the ability to attach shipping info) they can dispute and get their money back when you supposedly don't deliver said item. Please be careful with this one! Keep an eye on your paypal balance for a while.
@ForeverObsessedR5
@ForeverObsessedR5 3 года назад
@@StarlyMusic THIS!!! They payed as “goods and services”, which means (at least from PayPal’s POV) that you’re delivering a good or service for them, hence the fee- which acts as protection for the “buyer” (OuiPlease) Also, if you get payed on PayPal often for your business, once you reach a certain amount earned, you’re supposed to be taxed on any G/S payments you receive- meaning you’d be paying taxes on your refund in addition to the $9. Be sure to keep a close eye on those funds Alexandria!!
@alyssacasole5441

Just a warning, since they sent the "refund" goods and services. They can potentially make a PayPal claim that they purchased something and never received it from you so that they get the full amount of money back. Since they didn't process it as a refund, PayPal will not link the two transactions together to know that isn't what is happening. Please keep an eye on your PayPal to make sure they don't make a claim and try and get the money back.

Sending a “refund” as a payment isn’t okay at ALL - not only did you lose that $9 fee (small amount of money, but it’s the principle), but that $291 becomes additional taxable income for YOU.

Especially with the new tax requirements for 2022 filing. She would owe about 30% of that, that's almost $100 of a $300 refund. All money transfer platforms will be required to report to the IRS. Used to be only for people who made or received over $20k in revenue AND had over 300 transactions I believe. Now if you've received over $600 this year (no transaction minimum) you have to file a 1099 & pay up. I'd assume she has received money from other places than this company, so.....even if they dont try to reverse it shes still out 1/3 of her money.
@mirrepoix
@mirrepoix 3 года назад
@@DV-kr4mg just to add clarification (you're right and this isn't disagreement, just clarifying!): the new tax filings require companies like paypal to report 1099 income if it's over $600 total in a year, but it does not raise the amount that is taxable from that income. it shouldn't do anything to change the amount you're taxed, but you're no longer off the IRS's radar if you make less than 20k. i find this change funny, when the vast majority of tax evasion is done by rich people, not folks making $600 off selling stuff in their garage or whatever. if they were worried about getting the money they're owed there are bigger fish to fry, but they can neither afford to fry them, nor care enough to focus on them instead of wasting the money elsewhere.

That makes total sense why it was a payment instead of a refund, and why she had those other buttons to upload stuff, and it might be a good idea for her to upload her evidence first before they make a claim to snatch it back. Also could be why they 'paid her'. Not cause of the desire to avoid negative comments but because she has a verified platform and an account they know they can get the money back from! Just wow. Definitely a new one on me. I would never thought to even look out for this type of deception.

I think what probably happened was what others suggested: that OuiPlease issued the refund, took a screenshot for "confirmation," then immediately cancelled to keep the funds, hoping Alexandria wouldn't notice. Then, when she DID notice, it was past the six month window to properly issue a refund, so they had no other way to transfer her money except as payment for goods/services. THAT BEING SAID, I wouldn't put it past them to try and dispute the payment, like you said. Alexandria should give them precisely ZERO benefit of the doubt - OuiPlease is not just sketchy, it's a straight scam!

Because that would be the fasted way to see something sent and then cancelled. Except to get a refund from Paypal you first must contact the seller and request a refund. If the seller refuses then you can file a dispute in which again the dispute goes to the seller not Paypal, if the dispute is not solved then you can escalate it to a claim in which Paypal gets involved and investigates the entire situation, contacting the seller themselves and checking to see what is going on. Alexandria has plenty of proof backing her up not to mention they keep notes in your account when you call them so everything that she has done recently (calling Paypal) is noted on her account and they will see that. I only know this because I had an issue with a company once and getting my refund was such a process however the representative from Paypal knew that I had an issue based on notes that were on my account from talking to another representative when everything first happened.

I work in the fraud department of a major bank, and while this is true, services not received claims are not Reg-E protected, which means they have an expiration date. You have to file that claim within 60 days of the transaction if no shipping date was promised, the promised shipping date if they gave you one, or of them promising you a refund, or your bank won't have dispute rights to challenge this for you. So, file the claim, THEN try to work it out with the merchant. Don't wait for the merchant to make it right first!

Initially refund was declined by their bank because they were broke, the second issue was that because of so much time passing PayPal won't let you refund transactions for longer than I think it's 6 months. The shitty part of them refunding you when they've been found out, is they've initiated it as a pay for goods and services from you invoice payment which means you have to pay the fee rather than THEY do. If they had used the other option of friends and family they would have had to pay the fee of sending it. and they could have made it clear in the transaction notes they were refunding you. As it stands now they've pretended they bought something from you and they can dispute this with PayPal at some stage if they want so please keep an eye on it.

As I was watching I dug into that address and the registered LLC (My French Connection) has three different locations. The first location (where Alexandria got the payment from) is a tiny building in one of the Dallas surrounding areas and according to Google is currently listed as half for sale. One of them looks like it could be a place to package product, but I feel that is isn't as it's a suite in the same building with an Enterprise rental. (Also according to their tax documents they haven't occupied that space in over a year despite it appearing on the BBB listing. Also on their relevant tax documents the third address is an apartment building in Downtown Dallas, where operating a business out of an apartment requires very specific documentation that is publicly available. I'm not really sure what the conclusion to this is, except for it's just another shady thing in the long line of shady things they've participated in!

Not to add more questions to the mix, but please make sure that your "payment" actually cleared... because PayPal is asking for shipping information from you for "goods and services" and of course that doesn't exist because they didn't order goods or services from you, they could say that they never received their "goods or services" and the payment could be reversed (if it even actually cleared) I once made a payment to someone and didn't realize that I sent it wrong and they never got paid until they contacted me about it and I had to change the payment to say that shipping wasn't required and then the option for me to enter shipping information went away and they got paid... I felt so bad 🤦‍♀️ but they did get paid once I was aware of my mistake...

It sounds like your wizard is part of their ach group. Typically they're able to check past electronic transactions whereas your typical customer service will not have access to those records. Automated Clearing House also known as electronic transactions. And yes, any large retailer or financial institution will have this. Think of your automatic payments to your insurance: if you give them your card, they'll set it up as a recurring draft from debit card and will not be Ach. If you give them your routing and account number they will set up a recurring electronic draft which is ACH. I hope this helped.

So, something that should have also happened on Paypal's end was/is keeping a record of everything done and said. I know those calls are typically recorded and the computers should be monitored so if you know the name of the Wizard, you could potentially see if you can ask about what he could have done in order to find the information he stated. My other assumption is that the others might not look under OuiPlease's account due to privacy and whatnot because they might be able to look at the info, but can't pass along the information. That might be different because it would be in relation to your own account, so some workarounds are possible? Either way, dispute the payment, as others have mentioned, to make sure they can't try to take your money again.

It's very possible they are also committing tax fraud by putting refunds in as "expenses" to the company as if they are purchasing product and putting it in as a deductible on their taxes.... on the very few that are getting refunded at all, but in that case, it would be of no loss to the company.
