Started with Jim Beam white label mixed with anything and everything. Now I all over the place from Scotch to bourbon.

My first ever whisky was Southern Comfort when I was 14. My friends liked beer but I hated the taste so I would always steal the Southern Comfort bottle from my brothers room. Then I moved onto JD. Nowadays I like bourbon but I love scotch.

First from way back when had to be Old #7, Jack & Coke. That turned into Seagrams Seven & 7. Once I started down the neat path, it was Bulleit and now I’m all over the place in that $50-$100 per bottle range.

Started with Jack/Jim and Crown. Then moved to Irish whiskey, Redbreast and the spots (green, yellow & red). Then started drinking bourbon neat with Woodford, Old Foresters, and Buffalo Trace. My current favorite bourbons are Knob Creek 18 batch 2, Calumet 16 and Orphan Barrel Fable & Folly. 🥃

I started with Jim Beam 40 years ago and didn't restart my bourbon journey until early this year. Now, I prefer bourbons like Widow Jane Decadence, Milam & Greene Port Finished Rye (not a bourbon) to American Single Malt and Single Malt Scotch. Every day I try to expand my pallet. So much whiskey, so little time.

I started out years ago with Wild Turkey 101 and Maker's Mark with a little Crown mixed in from time to time. I didn't really branch out from those until much until last year. Now my favorites are Old Forester 1920, Maker's Mark cask strength, Knob Creek 12 year, and I just got an Old Elk cigar blend two weeks ago that is quite nice.

What got me into whiskey was Dickel 8 circa 2005. I swear it tasted different back then. What I'm into now, Ardbeg.

Was a big Patron & Pineapple Juice guy in my 20’s. Maker’s Mark is what got me into bourbon. Now I’m into a lot of different bourbons and ryes. I have a C923 haven’t opened it yet. 🥃Cheers!

Good episode guys! Interesting to see how your pallets and tastes developed! I got started when went to a distillery close by to me in VA last year and they had a ‘brown sugar / cinnamon flavored whiskey’ which wasn’t even a bourbon 😂 Been watching your videos ever since

I would have loved seeing you retry your old first pours. would have been fun. I just did a cigar blend blind, and I have Fred's in that blind. It was my first time drinking cigar blends and my first pour of a Story Time pick as well. It is amazing how much both of your palates have changed. I know I have too. There is just so much good stuff to try out there. cheers

WRDO got me hooked. I now look for store picks in the 110-120 proof range including some ryes.

Four roses small batch, didn’t like it neat. Had to make old fashioneds with it instead. Followed that up with Monkey shoulder and dove into scotch. Made my way into bourbon again and started trying higher proof stuff and enjoyed it and just continued collecting and trying new bourbons.

bottle that first peaked my interest was jack daniels single barrel, i had been making moonshine for some time and i wanted to see what a single barrel could be like. luckily i had a friend explain to me that i need to be drinking real bourbon and i went to makers mark, which i really enjoyed. nowadays im more of a makers private select and cask strength drinker, the regular doesnt cut the mustard anymore.

George Dickle a long time ago. Was in the service and stationed with a guy that his dad worked there and sent bottles all the time so those who drank whiskey we drank for free. Was a win win. Also makers and wild Turkey.

Started with basic Maker's Mark. Wife got it for me because she thought it looked fancy with the red wax and because she knew I'd had some in a mixed drink at a bar once. At the time I knew zero about whiskey and it felt like fire to drink neat so I drank it over ice. Took me about a year to kill that single 750ml. At that time a $30 bottle was expensive in my opinion. Boy how things change. Took a few years off of bourbon and tried some rums... in cokes mostly. Stumbled upon the Whiskey Tribe channel last winter and realized there is a lot more to whiskey than I thought. Bought a couple bottles... then more... and more... and more. Anyway in less than a year I have like 200 bottles in my basement on a storage shelving unit. Tried maybe 250 different bottles this year and quickly identified myself as having a preference towards rye whiskey and rye'd bourbons. Wheat is not my thing (but were some of my first purchases). Ended up not being a fan of most BT products except the Saz rye. I have Wellers and all the normal stuff from BT but I'd rather drink Makers if I want a wheated bourbon. I've also found that I enjoy peated whiskey (Islays, Japanese, and the occasional peated Irish) but otherwise malt isn't my thing. My "goto" bottles right now would normally be higher proof - minimum 100 but usually in the 115-120 range. Knob Creek is maybe my favorite big brand but I've enjoyed every high proof bottle of Maker's I've managed to sample. Redwood Empire is my favorite smaller brand followed by Ben Holladay (it's local so I have access to their Rick House/Cask Str offerings too!). Best bottle I've tried this year: Bombergers Declaration 2022 with honorable mention to KC 15, Redwood Empire Grizzly Beast, and New Riff Balboa Rye Most disappointing bottle: Blanton's Best Rye under $30: Old Overhold 114 Best Bourbon under $30: 1792 Small Batch My wallet probably needs a break (and I'm out of shelf room) so I'm mostly focused on drinking through a few bottles and waiting on some of the more interesting releases like Old Overholt 10 and Old Forester 1924.

I started with Beam and Jack….with coke lol. DON’T JUDGE ME! Now I am all over the place. I prefer 100+ proofs and I’m into some Amburana finishes recently, one a barrel pick of Rare Character rye and a Starlight pick
