Hey there! We’re Matt and Ché, and we’re currently travelling around Australia in our new BT50 and roof top tent. We’ve been on the road for nearly a year now, exploring some of Australia’s most remote locations while visiting as many of the big bucket-list places that we can.
During our time in the NT (mid-2023), we made the long drive from Darwin down to Uluru for 4 nights at one of the country’s most iconic places to see. We squeezed in a lot of activities and thought our experiences could be useful for future visitors. We’ve done our best to share everything we know while keeping it as short as possible, so if you have questions about anything not discussed in the video, please reach out via the comments below.
Otherwise, we hope you have as great a time as we did in Australia’s special centre!

Thanks so much! We were there around late July and it was cold in the Red Centre but so beautiful, I’m sure you’d love it 😍 if you have any questions at all about feel free to reach out! We went from Darwin right down to Uluṟu and there’s so much more to see than you’d think in the ‘outback’ haha - hot springs, quirky pubs, great swimming holes! Such a great time, we also loved Alice Springs and if you’ve got the time while you’re there we’d recommend adding the West Macdonnell ranges and Kings Canyon to the list! Have a great time 🤩

Climbed it 6 months ago, we started off in the dark before anyone was there and once we were at the summit we spent the day taking a lot of drone footage and photography. Descended in the dark, that would a bit tricky for anyone that wasn't a climber but we climb a lot.

Hey guys! Thanks so much, glad it was helpful 😄 That’s so exciting when do you head off? We did the same route from Darwin down to the red centre and also did the Mereenie Loop to Kings Canyon after! I’m sure you’ve probably heard that the Mereenie Loop can be rough, it wasn’t too bad for us but can get rutted and very muddy if there’s been some recent rain. Have a great time down there, sounds like an awesome trip 🙌

@@mattandche hi heading off from uk to Darwin july 25th to august 16th…..just waiting on the 4wd hire company. I’ve done some research on the mereenie loop so know a little about the road ie lower the tyre pressures drive to conditions and ask at kings canyon about the present state of the road. Did you go to any of the gorges along the loop ? Hopefully we’re be ok 😅 no sat nav and never driven in the outback before so it could be some adventure if not we’re perish out there somewhere 😂 Thanks we hope it’s a trip of a lifetime as we’ve spent so much already and we’re not even there yet 😂 flights are very expensive but we are going business class as we’re be roughing it after we pick the hire car up 😂 Enjoy your adventure it sounds amazing can’t wait to watch some more of your videos 🙌🏻 safe travels guys 🤗🇦🇺

@@Neil-clare so exciting that’s the exact same time we were there! Yeah that’s it, you have to also get a pass for the Mereenie loop but from memory it was only $10! You can get it from the visitor centre, we got ours from one of the caravan parks in the West McDonnell ranges! Side note - Are you planning on doing any of the West Macs? It’s absolutely magic it you have some spare time. But that all sounds so great! There’s always other travellers happy to lend a helping hand too so I’m sure you guys will be all over it 🙌 Love the business class idea haha enjoy it!! And thank you ☺️
