I would personally love to speak to this lady. I've only just come across this lady channel and has completely taken me from a sad mum to a mum with hope! I have a two year old little girl who is so beautiful in every way but showing strong sighs of Autism. I've cried nights on end with endless questions that no professional can answer with confidence but some how this lady has!! You are doing such a wonderful thing from the video where you said about Dexter's red flags and how emotional you was honestly without sounding like a mad woman i never felt so close to complete stranger!! Please carry on with what your doing because honestly you give hope and warmth to Mums and Dads who are about to start this wonderful but very scary journey. Thankyou x
Same here. i have 19 months old baby and everything that she said on her video from 18 months is what exactly what my child does. i am observing my child when he reached 1 yr old. I am seeing signs already but i am in the stage of indenial that nothings wrong with my child. But now ,this lady gives me a confident and there's nothing to be afraid of. we are our kids shelter. We should be their number 1 supporter. After this virus im going to set an appoinment for consultation.

This is awesome, my son is 8 and was diagnosed at 3 1/2. When he was diagnosed he had about 10-15 words he now speaks in sentences, dont get me wrong we are still working on things but now its clear he will be completely verbal. It’s been a slow steady progress, you lil one will get there w a momma like you. Your boy is trying so hard its amazing. james is very smart but the verbal output is harder for him but he totally gets way more than i ever thought.
My son Mathias was diagnosed with autism October of 2020 at the age of 3. Our son began coming out of his shell(verbally) when he heard the baby shark song. He wasn't saying the words but he verbalized the beat. This was the first time we ever heard him repeating or mimicking anything. He is now 3 and a half to be exact. He is now making new sounds every day. He recently started calling me mama and his father dada as well as no and stop. I joyfully cry during these victories. This story is almost exactly what we're going through with our autistic 4 year old. She's still non/pre-verbal, but she's so outgoing and expressive and she babbles and vocalises all the time, so we remain hopeful. This video was very helpful because (as you know) parents of neurodivergent children can feel very lonely and hopeless sometimes. You feel like everyone else is having 'normal' experiences with their children and you can't help but feel jealous. People say "Aw well, at least she has lovely parents, etc, etc"... But that feels like people don't know what to say, even if they're attempting to be comforting. It's a weird ride and we love our little girl very much who is always winning little victories every week. Even simple things like her sitting on the play mat at nursery waiting to have her name called for pick up is amazing.
You are a brilliant mum and a great teacher , I work with young people with these specific needs every body could learn from you , your energy and absolutely brilliant attitude and belief in your son is going to be the thing that makes this work. Wishing more success for your family ! 🤗

My 4 year old just started "talking" because he got his communication device when our lockdown started. His school gave us one until this whole thing passed. But now they have canceled school until the next school year. Thankfully they will let him keep it through the summer and return it for the next school year. He says more in the last 2 and a half months than he has ever in his whole life. They work wonders. 👏👏👏

Fantastic! I invested in ACC in December as my son and Dexter’s development seemed so aligned. I hesitated about ACC for some time. But after 4 months. My son is now speaking (attempting sounds, words, syllables) too. Xx

@@NurturingNeurodiversity we are struggling with behaviour through the lock down, however, I, like you, am seeing progress with intention sounds! I wonder if its just the total 1 to 1 attention he is getting at the moment as I am having to work from home. You have no idea how beautiful watching you both play word games was. You can see the relief in Dexter that he's able to verbally communicate with you. Like his frustration is just so much less. Beautiful boy. How is your other little man getting on? X
After following you for the last year, just seeing how happy you are when you explain what's been happening the last few months makes me cry! I'm so happy for you and Dexter! He would be a great kid no matter what, but this is a big moment and can make his life easier! :)
Thank you so much for this video on your beautiful boy! I'm coming to it two years out with my own 4YO who has followed such a similar path. Our Alex has had such huge strides in communication in the last year. I love reading comments of mommas where we're all identifying similar situations. It's so comforting to see where our babies can be as the future is so uncertain as we navigate this path.

This is really wonderful to watch. :') I definitely teared up. I was wondering if Dexter's attention span was there for speech therapy around 2-3 years? Our son has very similar traits to Dexter, but his attention span at 2.5 is incredibly low, unless he's engaged in music. We're trying to nurture that but everything is harder these days with the isolation. Can you also share how you guys are doing with the quarantine? Thank you. :) Your videos help so so much, this often feels like such a lonely journey.

I love this! I'm so proud of Dexter. Thank you so much for sharing. I have a 2yr old who will be 3 soon and he sounds JUST LIKE little Dexter. He's is only able to copy vowel sounds and has a real hard time putting two sounds together (he does mmm for cow instead of mooo). What age did he start using the AAC device? I suspect that my son can comprehend so much more than what we know but it's hard to figure it out since his expressive language is so very limited and I want to encourage him to be more expressive but I just don't know how. Anyway really appreciate this video. It gives me hope that he will continue to progress.

My son did the same he says “fruu” meaning “fruits” . that day I can never forget when I at least understood what he meant 😭 it is a dream come to true for mother like me whose son couldn’t communicate at all.

My daughter gave me 4 kisses on my arm when I was holding her today at the neurologist I started sobbing , I celebrated an cherished these kisses I’ve only had 3 months ago and I know exactly how amazing it is. She says 1,2,3 an oh no that’s it dada mama all of those disappeared not long after it seems she even started, no pointing to things yet, but these little things are so incredibly amazing. I don’t think people truly understand what it’s like because so so many are “High functioning”. My daughter rambles an rambles but no words really an watching your videos have brought me such comfort not that I wish this on anyone but it’s so nice to know I’m not alone I feel very alone amount the moms of autism children they are all so much more normal it feels I dunno 🤷🏽♀️ I’m bad with communicating with text so hopefully this isn’t taken the wrong way I don’t mean it to be rude or mean to anyone

We totaly removed all gadgets cartoons and talking- music playing toys. It totaly laid on our shoulders cause we don't have any free time. Book reading and family involving games. We started at 33 months from bottom line now at 3 yo we have huge advancement but it's sooo far from regular kids in this age. I think we somewhere at 18-20 months compared to them.

Hi My son is 18 months and is displaying a lot of the autistic signs. Have you researched about vaccinations being a cause for autism in children who develop signs after 12 months? I have watched videos on this and read things online which suggest it has a link with causing autism. What’s you’r thoughts on this theory?

Thank you SO much for sharing. I LOVE your videos and you are such a strong and brave mom. Our son is almost 4 and is non-verbal. We though he was non-verbal because of hearing issues or because of the surgeries from his brain cancer removal (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--glSld_pMnQ.html), but now we are understanding that he is also autistic. We are still so lost. We need therapy (ABA), we need strategies and a community and we are so very grateful you offer hope and a community to families like ours.

I was told by speech therapist not to ask questions because it's puts kid under too much pressure to answer 🤷♂️ And just to say stuff repeatedly but not as questions!

My son is 24yrs old now he was diagnosed with autism when he was 3 1/2yrs old. This is exactly how his speech developed, he now gives talks to the autistic community and those who work in that field. My son was only interested in electronic toys like like speak and spell... anything electronically interactive! Its lovely to see this.. it brought back many memories. xx
